Chapter 2
A couple of days had passed and your first parsnip harvest had been a success. Also, you and Elliott had grown closer. You didn't feel that you were friends yet, maybe acquaintances. You also knew most of the town now. You frequented the beach for a little extra cash every now and then. You'd also become a little better at fishing. You did mining every so often. A little cat/dog had entered your life as well. You had brought a pomegranate sapling which you had planted. Mostly because it was one Elliott's favourites. It would only produce in Fall. You had also fixed the little bridge by Elliott's house and could cross over it to the patch of land. You were in your house and stood up and walked out. You watered the crops and left to go into town. You already felt a lot happier as farmer. You didn't want Joja to take over this town. You shot cold looks at the blue building, every so often when you passed it. Spring was drawing to a close, and you kind of wanted your crops to grow before Summer came and burnt them up. Your eyes travelled over to the beach bridge, clam in hand. To your surprise, Elliott was already on the bridge, and you raced over. You gave him the clam. "Oh, another gift, Y/N? Thank you," he laughed. "Is there a reason for all these gifts?"
"No. No reason, just a gift for friend."
"Oh okay." He smiled. You smiled back. You walked off, grinning. You headed toward the mine. Out of the corner of your eye you saw Linus leave his tent. You had only reached around floor 5 of the mine and had gained access to the elevator. You went back to the fifth floor to continue your mining escapades. You walked through the floor mining the rocks. Soon enough, you found the ladder to the next floor. You went down it and were immediately met by a slime. You took out your sword and killed the slime. Then you saw the orange flash of copper ore. You walked over to it and mined it. You stayed in the mines for a few more hours when you left it was nighttime. You headed straight for your farm, it was too late to do anything else. You were already tired anyway. You put your haul way in your chest and went to bed.
The next morning, you watered your crops and pet's bowl. You went into town again. You walked to the beach looking for shells to sell. You kept clams whenever you found them, because they'd suffice until the pomegranates were ready. You found a few pieces of coral and you also fished a bit. You put them in the selling bin and had an early night.
