If you really think about it, why do we feel happy when someone compliments you on how you look?

" Yeah thanks i put myself in the oven for an hour everyday " 

But honestly you don't really do anything for that, you're literally born with it. Why are we insecure of something we are born with? We didn't choose it. Trust me, if everyone could choose we'd all have skinny bodies and perfect features. But we can't, can we? 

" You're so kind and funny " 

" Thank you love i try my best " 

You choose to be kind. You choose to be generous. You choose to be humble. You choose to be grateful. And every single day you work towards making yourself a better person. And if someone compliments your personality then that's amazing because you work hard to be the best version of yourself. That's what a compliment is. 

If you ask me i would rather be referred to as the " kind and funny girl " instead of the " pretty girl " because my beauty does not lie in something as materialistic as my face.
