Rumaisah sat in the dining table during her brother's wedding dinner, she was with her niece, Amani. While they eat gently, Rumaisah couldn't stop thinking about Mansur. He had ruined her life after luring her to believing he was ready to marry her. What happened was...

After her engagement with him, he sought for her body. She was scared, she told him to wait till they get married but he persisted on the matter until he finally convinced her and slept with her. She had cried the day it happened as if it was a rape, she knew he would dump her and that was exactly what happened. He dumped her and she exposed him. Thus, the marriage was cancelled and she remained single. Thank God he had used protection, if not she might have conceived for him already.

"Anty Rumaisah, look" Amani said pointing at her fried meat. "My own is bigger than yours"

"Wow, I see!" Rumaisah smiled and just then she caught a guy stealing glances at her. He didn't seem familiar so she wondered why he was glancing at her every now and then.

When she couldn't take it anymore, she left her niece in the hands of someone she knew before going out to the balcony for privacy. Just as she was thinking about Mansur, a voice from behind brought her back to her sense. She turned and found out it was the same stranger that had been stealing glances at her while dining.

"Why the glares?" He asked smiling.

"Why the chase?" She asked as well.

"Hmm, I first asked" He said walking closer.

"Then force me to answer" She snapped at him.

"Why should I force you? I just want us to be friends. Can we be friends, angel?" He asked.

"No, we can't!" She said leaving the spot when he held her hand. And as angry as she was, she slapped him. "Don't you ever... come my way!"

She left in tears, remembering how Mansur cheated her. Men would forever be cheaters!

Qasim smiled despite the unimaginable pain he was feeling. The beautiful girl he recently approached had landed a fine slap on his face. He didn't need anybody to tell him that the girl was depressed, he had been observing her right from the dining table. Thus, he huffed and left the balcony as well. Since then, he didn't approach her again but he made sure he tried his best in asking Amani about her.

He learnt that her name was Rumaisah and she was Idris' sister. Further enquiries from people that mattered revealed many stories about her, including the one that involved her ex fiance who lured and violated her. Still even after all that, Qasim still wanted to marry her.

He was scared of approaching Idris so he kept praying and fasting about it until his cousin sister, Manal who was Idris' wife gave birth to a baby - that was when he decided to approach Idris. He did that on the baby's naming, and Idris seemed not to trust him but still nodded at his request. It was somewhat a joyful moment for Qasim, and in a week time Idris called him and told him to send his parents.

Rumaisah accepted him and they eventually got married to each other. Though she seemed not to like him in the beginning but gradually, as she began bearing him children she began showing him more love. He never knew he could love someone more than himself again after losing Manal, but then as time went by he met Rumaisah, the sister of the person that stole Manal from him. He was really happy to have Rumaisah, she bore him three children while they lived in Abuja and added two when they all packed to California to live for life.
