Sick

Lucy sneezed.

"Ugh..." she sniffled, curling up tighter in her sleeping bag. She felt terrible. Her head was heavy, her throat was sore, her nose was blocked and she was pretty sure she had a fever. Overall, she felt terrible.

"Uh... Natsu, I think Lushi has a cold..." Happy said in a worried voice as he hovered above the sick blonde.

Natsu's head popped into Lucy's line of vision, his worried expression mirroring Happy's voice. He crouched down beside her and reached out to place his hand on her forehead. "Damn, you are burning up."

Lucy sneezed again, then groaned. Her head was pounding. Her voice sounded rough and nasally as she spoke, "Really? But I'm cold," She shivered, as if to prove her point, then wrapped her sleeping bag tighter around herself and pulled it over her head.

Her cold wasn't the only thing that was bothering her, though. She simply could not get the thought of Natsu kissing her out of her mind. She had barely slept all night, tossing and turning as the image kept assaulting her thoughts. His warm, muscular body pressed against hers, his soft lips claiming hers. Ugh, she was blushing just thinking about it.

What exactly did it mean, though? They had kissed, but what now? Natsu hadn't mentioned anything about it and had gone straight to sleep last night. Was it just a spur of the moment thing? Did he regret it?

She heard Natsu tsk, and the next second he had pulled aside the sleeping back and had slotted his body next to hers. She heard the zip of the sleeping bag and turned her head to see Natsu's inches away from hers. She blushed heavily, but that could have been from numerous reasons. His body was so warm, and she already felt less cold just from his body heat. He was so close, though. And those piercing eyes of his. She tried to shuffle away but he had already wrapped his arms around her waist, and she was suddenly pressed against his chest. She let out a little squeak of surprise, about to protest when Natsu interrupted her.

"You gotta sweat it out, it'll help, alright? Trust me, Luce." Natsu said quietly.

Lucy gave a small nod and stopped her struggling. He was right, of course. His body heat would easily make her sweat enough, which was a good way to help get rid of a cold. She couldn't help feeling slightly awkward at their close proximity, her head only being able to rest against his chest. She felt Natsu shift slightly, and felt his hand slowly combing through her hair. She instantly relaxed at the calming feeling, and she felt a rumble in Natsu's chest as he chuckled.

"See? That's better, isn't it?" He asked, and Lucy gave a simple nod in reply. She could already feel her eyelids starting to droop, feeling quite sleepy. She struggled to keep them open, not wanting to fall asleep, but soon enough they had shut, and she had drifted off to sleep.

She woke up a few hours later and found she was still wrapped up in Natsu's arms. She blinked sleepily, craning her head up so that she could look up at his face. He was still awake and was staring directly back at her with a smile on his face.

"Feeling better?"

Lucy gave a small nod. She did, in fact, feel a little better. Her head was no longer pounding, and her sinuses felt much clearer. "Yeah... I am feeling a lot better," she mumbled softly.

He smiled and squeezed her waist slightly. "Good, I'm glad," he chuckled again, then leaned to press his lips against her forehead. She blushed at the contact, though the moment was ruined when they heard a voice.

"Natsu liiiiiikes Lucy~" Happy trilled happily, and Lucy and Natsu both shot him a glare at the same time. Natsu reached behind him and grabbed the closest object (a shoe) and threw it at Happy. The exceed dodged and started complaining, but soon had enough sense to quieten down and leave the two alone.

Lucy giggled softly as Natsu turned back to her, a smile tugging at his lips. He leaned down, pressing his head into her hair and breathing deeply. "Ignore him," he muttered, and Lucy nodded. She happily closed her eyes again, draping her arm over his side.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad not to know what they were exactly for a while. So far, she was liking whatever it was, and she definitely wasn't complaining.

Short update, guys. Sorry, just tryna get past some major writer's block.
