shrenu carefully sat next to her three years old son kush, who was happily playing with his toy cars, and asked him sweetly: so are you excited?

kush: what for?

shrenu: for your baby sister. you know she is coming in just one month.

kush: I no excited.

shrenu: arre but you were excited all this time. now what happened mera beta?

kush: you go. 

shrenu: but what happened baby?

kush: don't talk to me. you no go. ok. I go then.

he stands up and toddles away leaving shrenu confused and upset. from these last 7 months, kush was the most excited one for his baby sister. he would ask everyone all the time that when would his baby sister come and he would even disturb her and her husband kunal's sleep by coming into their bedroom late at night and asking that when was his baby sister coming. but then why today was he acting all weird? why today was he not excited for baby sister?

shrenu sat on her bed and hugged a pillow as she questioned herself about her son's sudden behaviour. just then she saw kunal coming in and he was calling her name out.

kunal: thanks god I finally found you shrenu. what has happened to kush?

shrenu: I don't know. I just asked him that was he excited for his baby sister kyunki now it is one month but he said that he wasn't.

kunal: you know something? just a few minutes ago, kush came into the living room and said to me that 'daddy, tell god to take away the order for baby sister, I don't want a baby sister'.

shrenu: what?

kunal: yes. I don't know what has happened to him. yesterday he was fine, doing his usual routine from the last 8 months but today....today he is acting like a whole new person. I don't even know if this is my kush.

shrenu: oh hello, correction: he is my kush. 

kunal: meri kush hai. he spends way more time with me.

he kisses her cheek and goes. when he went, kush entered holding the basket of toys which friends and family had bought for the princess and kept it on shrenu's bed. then he went on the bed and said: mummy, throw these toys away.

shrenu: but why baby?

kush: god will take away the order for baby sister so these toys no purpose.

shrenu: accha kush, what is going on? why all of a sudden is my baby acting like this?

kush: I no tell. you just throw toys away. 

shrenu: at least eat something. maybe food will cool you down.

kush: no, I sleep.

shrenu: but it is only 10am.

kush doesn't say anything and then he goes from the room leaving shrenu confused. 

shrenu: papaji!

sunil came in hearing her scream and said: what happened shrenu? do I need to call kunal?

shrenu: no need to call kunal. papaji, I want to ask you something.

sunil: ask bahu. you know that you can ask me anything.

shrenu: what has happened to my kush? he is acting so weird. I am hating it so much! do you know why he is acting like this all of a sudden?

sunil: who did mr kush spend the night with last night because you and kunal apparently needed some time alone?

shrenu: me and kunal needing time alone....this was what sanjay said because those three wanted to spend time with kush.

sunil: great. so talk to those three idiots and then sort out kush.

shrenu nods as sunil leaves her.

shrenu: first of all, let me sort out my cranky baby.

she stands up and goes to kush's room only to see his arm over his eyes and he was all tucked in his bed. shrenu went near to him and saw tears on his cheeks.

shrenu: baby, do you want food?

kush: no.

shrenu: kyu?

kush: I no hungi (hungry)

shrenu: but...

kush interrupting: you go and yes make sure baby sister order is gone by eveni (evening).

shrenu: fine.

shrenu goes upset and then gets a call from kunal.

kunal: what is this shrenu? you didn't eat anything yet!

shrenu: who told you?

kunal: dad. why?

shrenu: kyunki mera beta is not eating so why will I eat?

kunal: what?! kush is not eating?!?

shrenu: yes and he is just in his bed, arm over his eyes and I know he is silently crying. 

kunal: did you find out anything?

shrenu: remember last night, when your siblings took kush with them because according to them, we needed 'some alone time'?

kunal: yes I remember but what are you trying to....oh I see. I knew it was a bad idea letting kush spend the night with them.

shrenu: so now?

kunal: now I am going to come home. matoo and I have finished the work. once I come, we will talk to those idiots whilst I regret the fact that why did I even ask for siblings.

shrenu: quickly come. 

she peers through the window of kush's room.

shrenu: I can't see my baby like this. it's so heartbreaking.

kunal: turn to your left.

shrenu: why?

kunal: because I said so.

shrenu turns to her left to see kunal still on his phone and smiling. she cuts the phone and hugs him tight.

shrenu: you came so quickly.

kunal: voh I was driving when you called me so yeah.

shrenu: should we talk to those three?

kunal nods and they go to kaasni's room where those three were.

sanjay: what's up bro and Bhabhi?

shrenu: we need a serious talk with you three.

kaasni: what happened Bhabhi? bhai, why do you look upset? 

they all sat down and then kunal said: yesterday night, kush spent the night with you three. di you tell him something related to younger siblings?

satya: maybe.

kunal: tell us probably. don't mumble it!

kaasni: voh we were playing snakes and ladders and then....

fb starts:

kush was on kaasni's laps as all four of them played snakes and ladders. as they played, sanjay asked kush: oh kush, are you excited for your baby sister?

kush: yes! I can't wait. she will be so cute.

sanjay: I remember when satya and kaasni were born. gosh that was horrible.

kaasni: oh duffer, what do you mean by that?

sanjay: what I mean is that everyone only focused their attention on you two.

satya: oh hello, no one focused their attention on me, everyone focused it on kaasni jaisingh! only because she is the only daughter and just because she is 6 minutes younger.

sanjay: I felt so jealous of you two. no one played with me but kunal bro and even he would want to play with you two. 

kush was hearing all of this and felt sad.

kush: kaasni chachi, I sleepy. night.

she kisses his cheek then kush kisses hers, then sanjay's and then satya.

kunal: really?! you had to talk about that in front of him?!

kaasni: sanjay bhaiya started it!

shrenu: now thank you for telling us the story. rest we will sort out.

kunal: and one more thing, don't ever talk about past experiences again in front of kush else I will get dad to sort you all out.

the three nod as shrenal goes out of the room.

30 minutes later:

kush's room:

shrenal enters the room with plate of maggi in kunal's hands.they sit on the edge of kush's bed. kush was in the same position as earlier and shrenal wink at each other as shrenu opened her mouth to speak.

shrenu: wow kunal, you made maggi? for me? but this is kush's favourite food, then why are you giving it to me? you rarely make me maggi.

kunal: voh toh hai but mr kush doesn't want to eat maggi so then I thought to give it to my lovely wife.

shrenu: how sweet.

she takes the maggi plate and the fork from kunal and before she could take a bite, the fork, having the maggi on it, was taken from her. shrenal turned to their left to see kush putting the maggi in his mouth.

kush: mummy, my maggi.

shrenu: oh chirota, my maggi.

kush: my maggi.

shrenu: ok it will be your maggi if you listen to me and your daddy.

kush nods.

kunal: look kush, we know you are upset because you think we will love your baby sister more than you.

kush nods sadly and says innocently: everything will be different with her around. nothing be same.

shrenu: you know something kush? even I was jealous when your Shubham mamu was born but your nani told me that I will be loved no matter what. kush baby, even after your baby sister is born, our love for you will stay the same.

kunal: we will love you and your baby sister equally. ok baby? now please eat and be happy.

kush: I be happy. but will I be a good sibling?

shrenu: the best. we know that you will always be there for your sister when we can't and we know that you will never leave her alone in the dark, you will always show her the light of life.

kunal: now forget all this, smile kush then maggi.

kush smiles innocently as shrenu keeps it on the bed as kush looks at it happily and then before he eats, he hugs his mummy's baby bump and kisses it saying: baby sister, come soon. I protect you no matter what and I love you so much.

shrenal: awww.

they kiss either side of his cheeks and then mr chotu kunal goes back to eating his maggi. once he was done, sunil comes in and says to shrenal: now that kush is fine, you two have some time alone.

shrenu: but papaji...

sunil: oh hello, let me spend some time with my grandson.

kunal: fine dad. if he is a handful, let us know.

sunil: he is never a handful, are you kush?

kush: I never handful. I good boy.

kunal: I wish I could say the same. 

shrenu stamps on his feet leading to kunal saying: OUCH SHRENU!

shrenu: what did you say about my son?

kunal: voh he can be naughty. 

kush: I only ate your choco once.

kunal: ten times actually.

kush: no once.

shrenu: accha kunal, let kush spend time with his Dadaji and stop trying to pick up an argument with my son. papaji, we will leave you two in peace.

sunil smiles as shrenu drags kunal away from the grandfather-grandson relationship.

shrenal's room:

shrenu took the clothes off the bed and kept them in the cupboard as she complained: you know something? you behave exactly like a kid 24/7. I should have known that once kush was born, I would end up with not one but two children. now it is going to be three.

kunal looked up from the bed confused: who is your other child but kush and princess?

shrenu: you should know.

kunal: I don't know.

shrenu: you duffer. when kush was born, you started to behave like a child. always needing my attention and yes sometimes accept what kush says.

kunal: but he was wrong.

shrenu gives him a stern look as he gulps quickly saying: fine he was right.

shrenu: good.

kunal: but why are you in a bad mood?

shrenu: I got to know that next week we are invited to a party and look at me, I look exactly like a whale and all my dresses make me look even fatter.

kunal in mind: first kush and his situation now shrenu.

shrenu: you know what, I will just say that we can't go as I got an appointment then.

kunal: relax jaan. you aren't fat. you look perfect.

shrenu: save your sweet talks for someone else. I don't easily get convinced by your sweet talks and you know it.

kunal knew he had to calm down his firecracker. he got off the bed, putting the phone on the bedside table and then once shrenu closed the cupboard, he lifted her up in bridal style despite her own weight and kept a confused shrenu on the bed. few seconds later, she was right on top of him and then shrenu felt his hot breath on her neck, then the tender brush of lips. burning as they make contact with her neck. a hand runs through her hair, as the kisses become harder and more urgent. then he stopped kissing her neck and slowly their lips met and the scene went blank.
