Short Poems
GOODNIGHT
There are hands that reach out to me in these final moments as my body lay limp on the cold hospice bed. But now I know that I am safe, as long as these arms lift me up to the sky, and soon I'll be flying far away.
LOVE
All I know is that I am alone and these feelings of bliss are fading. If only I could hear your voice for a moment as you whisper sweet words in my ear.
MANEATER
Cat walking down an empty street,
Hair done,
Raggedy clothes,
She waits for them,
Like a lion waiting for cubs,
They take the bait,
And follow her into her nest,
Getting a feel from her warm bosom
THE FOUNTAIN
lips like honey
Poisonous and untouched
Intoxicating me
To take one sip
One drink from those lips
Eyes daring me to try
I accept
Taking in the bitterness
Worthy of my last breath
LOST
Beneath skin
Protruding outwards
Sharp and glassy
CARAMEL
I love the way ice cream drips
Falling just a bit over
It taste sweet against my lips
It melts away
Caramel ice cream reminds me
Of the color of your skin
You are my caramel colored ice cream
I'd eat you every day if I could
JUNGLE
A chattering willow
With gloomy eyes
Lost in the midst of green
Forbidden ecstasy sways it gently
I eat the willow
Tasty delight.
Mrs Dawdle
She has spiders in her hair
And maggots in her eyes
She has boils on her skin
But wears a cheap disguise.
She has clothes straight from a magazine
and charred to a crisp red lips
But most of all she has me
My blood has marred her fingertips
