Their Relationship With Their Family

Shota Yasojiro

Among his family, his parents are never named, and he never acquaintances himself with them, preferring to be separate from them. He proved himself more worthy of the position of the family company's CEO to his grandfather, transferring rights of the company to him and overwriting his parents for the income it provided. Though they beg him for money, he makes them do menial tasks in order to earn it such as apologizing for everything they've done in the past, get on their hands and knees, and claim him better than Rei.

As for his sister, Nami Yasojiro, he absolutely loves her, taking her as his only true family member beside his grandfather. He has a close relationship with her, often spending time with her to tutor her or take her out on fun trips. That being said, he is overly protective of her, making sure no one is picking on her at school, and is wary of boys her age around her. Still, he spoils her to his heart's content to show her how much he loves her.

Takuya Miyahara

Of Takuya's family, there is a long list of cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc., but his mother, Ichika Miyahara is the first person introduced as being related to him. She is a fickle and self-absorbed woman who openly cheats on her husband with Isao Kuroki, a boy two years older than Takuya, and compensates him with expensive cars or gifts. Impatient and unforgiving, she does not care for her son, Takuya. She views him as a hindrance to her inheritance of her husband's company and fortune, especially after he began acting up when meeting (Y/n). After Takuya threatened her to back away from her and treat her kindly, she became immediately terrified and submissive to him, fearing what would happen to her if she went against him.

On the other hand, Takuya's father, Hideki Miyahara, is a kind and generous man that acts as the other boys' role model. He is a standup businessman, agreeable, and mannered with good intentions. Besides that, he often, with his childhood friend, Kazuya Akahito, spoils the boys intensely, giving them luxurious and rare items. They are loved by the boys as they are active and willing to play sports or do crazy things with them. Takuya's father views his son as the light of his life and is hopeful for his son, knowing he'll accomplish great things with a bit of motivation and encouragement.

Haru Akahito

Haru centers himself around his family, the most important thing in his heart. His mother, Eloise Akahito, was a foreigner from Echal, having been raised there her entire life. As such, she has a heavy accent and different customs from other characters that were born and raised in Athain. She does not have a full grip on the language, prompting her and Haru to mispronounce certain words or add accents that don't exist. Sometimes, they even forget words entirely, but Takuya, being an avid learner of the language, translates for them. Eloise is very loving of her sons, encouraging and having pride in Haru, but she distances herself from Bastien, knowing she will likely die soon, unwanting for him to make a connection and then lose it.

Haru's father, Kazuya Akahito, is one of the boys' favorite fathers along with Hideki Miyahara, more than ready to spoil Haru or the others with any gifts at any time, especially if he is abroad. He is extremely overprotective of Haru, fearing that he inherited his mother's disease or will fall at any time. Such fears manifest in Haru when it comes to (Y/n) being hurt, implying that he looks up to his father and follows his lead.

Rei Hirasi/Hoshino

Rei's family tree is complex and long, but his mother, Meridian Trewin, the second-born to the Queen of Vethela, is a cold and harsh woman. She is only concerned with power, liking the feel of being better than others, and envied. Her want for superiority was also what led her to marry Rei's father, Satoru Hoshino, someone who also shared her view for want of power, but was more led by monetary gain. They despise one another to the point where they divorced. However, as Kazuki says, Rei is their masterpiece and is the key to getting them to love one another even if temporarily. They put great pride in him and everything he can do, showering him with praise and gifts.

With his brothers, he holds great feelings and trust in them, but he often sees them as overly jealous of him. Kazuki had always been tending to him and taught him singing, music, and different arts, earning Rei's affection at his open arms. Ichiro, on the other hand, was never really one to associate with Rei, not being interested in him. Rei took the same attitude to his older brother, loving him as family, but nothing more.

Orion, Rei's cousin, and the heir to the throne in Vethela, is someone that the blonde rather pities. The orange-haired boy is kind and responsible but is weak and frail. As boys, they were never allowed to play due to his state of weak constitution, but Rei became closer to him when they were older, being taught lessons about the royal family and proceedings of the royal court. However, they are not as close as Rei is with his elder brother or his grandmother.

Rei's closest relationship is with his grandmother, Ambrosia Trewin, who is deceased. She was a cruel and harsh woman to him, despising the mask he wore and the perfect boy he pretended to be to everyone around him. Though she would mock him and say terrible things to him, he loved her with all his heart as she was the only one that could understand and accept who he really was even if it was in a negative way.

Yamato Hisaki

For the most part, Yamato is clearly a mommy's boy. Since birth, he's followed her around and lived his life to reflect his views on her. Disciplining himself, training himself to lead, mastering different skills, was all to support his mother. She has always been loving to him, providing him time, praise, and encouragement he needed, smothering him with treats to reward him for his hard work.

Though his father is a secondary role model in his life, Yamato sees him in a supportive light. Though he is not as motivated or driven as his mother, he provides her assistance where he can. Managing his law firms and providing comfort to her when she's stressed, helping with her work is something Yamato finds to be something to look up to.

Though she is not technically part of his biological family, Amaryllis is his older, yet adopted sister. She always got on his nerves, teasing him and Yusei for multiple things. Not only that, but when he was much younger and could not beat her in a fight, she would often twist him into "pretzels" and embarrass him sufficiently. Thus, as he grew up, he wasn't very fond of his adopted sister, not liking to be around her.

Akari Otsu

Coming from a supportive and loving family, Akari was always able to do as his heart pleased. His mother, very talented at modeling and skilled in photography was always someone for Akari to look up to. She gave him love and encouragement in honing his talents and hobbies, helping in any way she could with the help of her husband, Katsurou Otsu, a famous photographer and owner of multiple celebrity management agencies. They were both hands-on in their teaching and encouragement, spending plenty of time with him in order to do so. Though they could sometimes be occupied by their jobs, their son was a big priority to him, being their precious only child. They love him to death, and he loves them much the same.

Narahashi Shiko

Being the youngest of five children, one would think Narahashi was neglected by his parents. However, his mother and father loved him very much. They attend as many of his track meets as possible and help him whenever he needs it. Though he'd get more attention from his parents if he was a single child, his parents are more experienced in caring for their children. He was given much attention and encouragement, plus better knowledge from them.

Having four other brothers is quite a chore, especially when he was the youngest of the bunch. They constantly tease him, especially about his crush on (Y/n), but they're always there for him. Whether it's helping him with school work, giving him advice about whatever, or driving him places, they do it all. Yoru, the eldest, acts as a second father to him, nurturing him while also making sly remarks to embarrass him. Tadashi, the second oldest, acts as a wingman, cheering Narahashi on in love or in sports. Mitsuo, the third oldest, doesn't talk much, but he is quite intelligent, helping 'Hashi with his homework and student council work. And Eito, the fourth oldest, acts as a second-hand to him, almost like they were twins. All in all, Narahashi has a loving, enthusiastic, and experienced family that helps him in all aspects of his life.

Sora Gensai

This ravenette does not have a very together family. His father, Michi Gensai, is the leader of the Gensai Group. He is shown as a vain and power-obsessed monster, cutting down anybody to get his way. His ownership of slaves and his treatment of them, branding them, and killing them at his leisure shows his uncaring attitude towards others. The same applies to his feelings about his son. According to Sora, he was an accident, not meant to be born in the first place. His father cares very little for him other than his usefulness as the heir to his life's work after he dies, spreading his name even after he is gone. Sora does not feel the same way, finding his father to be someone that warrants his hatred, especially since he believes his father was responsible for his mother's sudden disappearance.

Sora's mother is thought of as a caring and protective person over her son. The ravenette does not have many memories of her, but from the pieces he's put together, she loved him wholeheartedly. She was the one that named him, likely due to her wish for him to live a better life than his father and be more compassionate to others. Though she was the one to give birth to the only known and living son of Michi Gensai, she was not his wife. In fact, she was one of his slaves that he took frequent advantage of. This is why Sora possesses such empathy with slaves such as Enmei and Yusei, also explaining his discontent with the slave trade.

Though technically not related to them, Sora views Asuka, Kenji, and Emi Chinen as his family. The ravenette loves Asuka to death, respecting her and everything she can do. He's never found a romantic interest in her but loves her as a sister. She provides information for him and acts as his advisor, warning him against certain things if she has a strong opinion on the matter. She is very loyal to Sora, and vice versa.

As for Kenji, they've been best friends since they were younger. Kenji always took an interest in Sora, acting as his second-in-command, or so he'd like to think. Though Kenji and Asuka mix together like water and oil, Sora is the one to separate them and ensure neither is harmed in the process.

As for Emi, when she died, it left a hole in Sora's heart that tore him apart mentally and physically for quite some time. He sought to fill that hole through rage and vengeance but tried to forget about it. When he couldn't, he attempted to focus on the present instead of in the past, but he still mourns her every day, dedicating a room in the estate to her memory. His most prized possession is a small carving of a raccoon that she made for him when he was arguing with his father.

Asuka Chinen

Asuka's family is a combination of good and bad. Her father was the one to kill her younger sister, Emi. He was high on meth, hallucinating that his family were monsters. Emi approached him to welcome him home, but he beat her to death. After, he proceeded to attack Asuka's mother, permanently disabling her and forcing her to use a wheelchair for the rest of her life. He was confined to prison for a life sentence, something which Asuka often takes advantage of to make trips to see him. She uses her rage and hatred for him to go on missions, but despises her father thoroughly.

Kenji, Asuka's older brother, the firstborn of the family, was a person that devoted himself to Sora, idolizing him in multiple ways. He acted as a servant to the ravenette, guarding him, serving him food and drink, or anything else that needed to be done for him. After his father attacked Emi and his mother, he turned his sights to Asuka who comforted him. He formed an unhealthy attachment to her that soon manifested into a perverse sexual desire. Kenji often begs Asuka for sex, attempting to bribe, manipulate, or guilt-trip her into it. Often, he will not leave her alone, prompting Sora to intervene.

Her mother, disabled by her father attacking her, is a distant person. Before Emi died, she was shy, but not introverted. She loved meeting new people, introducing her kids to their kids, and had joy in her children, especially her daughters. Though Kenji was a wildly different case than them, she still loved him unconditionally. She perceived Sora as one of her own, as well, not that he thought the same of her since he "already had a mother". Asuka spends time with her every now and again, providing for her medication, food, house, maids, cooks, and other things, making it so her mother doesn't have to work.

Asuka's younger sister, Emi, is a pivotal point in both her and Sora's childhoods and the way they turned out later. While Sora became obsessed with avenging her, Asuka lost all faith in men due to both her father's and brother's actions. She mourns for the loss of her sister every day, but chooses to think that Emi is watching her from the afterlife and that she will see her again soon. In the events of Moonlight Macabre, Emi is seen as a ghost, only able to be seen by Toma because he is a cat. She is approached by a blue-haired figure, suspectedly a demon, and is offered a deal. Emi takes it without question and has him place her raccoon carving on Sora's desk with a note from her written in crayon. For Asuka, she leaves another note and the diamond necklace that the ocean swallowed. Both notes contain reasons why she loves them and how much she misses them. After, it is suspected that the blue-haired demon took her soul or used her for something else as she is never shown again.

Kazuki Hirasi/Hoshino

Being the oldest and firstborn of the family, Kazuki was given plenty of affection and attention by his parents, especially because of his talents. His mother, in particular, viewed him as an opportunity to overwrite the succession. She showed him off to his grandmother in order to appease her and encourage her he was the best for the throne and the country. His mother gave him everything he wanted, not that he asked for much, and let him get away with whatever he wanted. It wasn't particularly out of love that she had for him, but due to her aspirations of having the throne. Of course, after Rei showcased his talents and success, she turned away from Kazuki, shunning him, claiming him illegitimate to get Rei on the throne instead.

Despite Kazuki's mother's attempts to get him on the throne over Orion, Kazuki's grandmother absolutely adored him. He was pure and sweet and he didn't care about anything that could give him power. All he wanted to do was sing and play music, something that soothed his grandmother when she was feeling sad.

On the other hand, Kazuki's father never cared for him. Even though he was skilled and talented, he didn't care about his son because he didn't care about his wife. Kazuki simply wasn't enough to stir any sort of parental love in him, so he just turned a blind eye to anything he would do. After Rei was born, he even demeaned Kazuki, telling him that an older brother should be better than his younger brother.

Orion, Kazuki's younger cousin, was someone he was kept away from. Both Kazuki's and Orion's mothers pulled them away from one another as their sons were their fight for the throne. They didn't want them to be friends, but as they grew up, they became good friends, not that they were able to see each other often due to Orion's frail constitution.

In his family, Kazuki is closest to his younger brother, Ichiro. They are two peas in a pod, caring for one another even in the most difficult of times. Kazuki is very protective of his younger brother, especially because he is incredibly dependent on him. One of the reasons that Kazuki started up his own company was because he wanted to provide for Ichiro so he could do whatever he wanted.

Rei, Kazuki's youngest brother, is someone who, despite the way their family pulled them apart, Kazuki holds very close. He taught Rei everything from music to painting to any other hobby that he took interest in. Like Ichiro, Kazuki held him close and was protective of him, especially when it came to his parents. He feared that they would abandon his younger brother as they did with him, but when they never did, they drifted apart. After their grandmother died, Rei changed, his multiple personalities coming to light to cope with the traumatic feelings flowing through him. Rei became sadistic, cruel, and unfeeling, pushing Kazuki away. Though Kazuki still loved him, it was quite different.

Ichiro Hirasi/Hoshino

Unlike Rei and Kazuki, Ichiro was never given his parents' utter affection, he was never their favorite, and they never showed him off. His mother only viewed him as a failure, turning to Kazuki then Rei when he showcased his talents. His father didn't even look at him. In their eyes, the only thing he was good for was standing in the background.

Much like his siblings, Orion wasn't very much of a true family member to Ichiro. His mother wouldn't let him go near him, and when he was old enough to make his own decisions, Orion was sickly and he didn't want to disturb him. Thus, they drifted apart and never got to make a connection.

Rei is a foreign brother to Ichiro as his mother didn't want him playing with her favorite child, often being told to vacate a room that Rei wanted to play in. Though he was able to play with Rei before their grandmother died, they weren't happy memories for Ichiro. His mother would always glare at him if he didn't share his toys or let Rei take one of his, and he was often prone to Rei's sadistic fits.

On the other hand, Kazuki is the closest person to Ichiro, surpassing all others. He was always there to comfort him, play with him, or help him with anything he wanted. Kazuki often helped hide him from their parents, teaching him the art of music even if he didn't catch onto it as he or Rei did. After they left their parents and decided on living on their own, Kazuki helped him start up his modeling career after being approached by many different people. Further after that, he supported him to make his own design industry. Ichiro depends on Kazuki for more than financial support, clinging to him with desperation as Kazuki is the only semblance of affection that he receives, especially when he is less than willing to get a girlfriend.

Ichiro's grandmother loved him to death and vice versa. Ichiro was the purest and unassuming of any of her grandchildren, wanting only to be with her for the sake of loving her. She valued him for his love of people and gave him all her time. When she died, Ichiro was robbed of any attention other than Kazuki, making him depend heavily on his older brother for affection.

???

What? You don't really expect information on his family, do you? Think again.
