Chapter 20 - Pass Me The Soy Sauce?

A/N: Hey everyone!!! So yaaaay it's finally happened!! Thoughts anyone? Haha I kind of forgot what I was planning to say (which unfortunately happens alot) so I guess if it comes back to me then I'll write it down. But yeah, as usual I really hope you enjoy the chapter despite the immense array of spelling and grammatical errors. And it'll also be pretty short but I think you guys are getting used to that by now!

Don't forget to vote and comment and enjoy! x

I knew the others would be home soon so turned my head to look at Jay's.

We had moved to the lounge room to listen to Boy and Bear and talk, and somehow Jayden had ended up at one end of the couch with my head on his lap and my legs sprawled over the rest of the couch.

"So..." I trailed off, trying to make my thoughts into words that I could actually get out of my mouth. Most people thought in words but I thought in pictures and colours; as weird as that sounds. "What do we tell everyone?"

I decided to keep my question simple and open ended.

"Well," he smiled down at me, the dimple appearing on his left cheek as he started playing with my hair that was sprawled around my head. "If they ask we just tell them what happened." Jayden shrugged, still looking into my eyes happily.

I don't think I had ever seen Jay this happy, and to think it was because of me sent shivers through my body.

"And what did exactly happen?" I smirked up at him and he laughed, the happy sound of it echoing through the room which was filled with late afternoon sun.

"As I recall..." Jay trailed, a smirk of his own appearing on his lips. "I was so hopelessly in love with you but you didn't feel the same way until we 'did it', but then I was just so good that you fell in love and we lived happily ever after!"

I couldn't keep the grin off my face. Even though I knew he loved me, it still had the same effect on my as the first time he said it.

I had to laugh though, while shaking my head. The 'perfect' story he had created was exactly that, a story.

Jay raised an eyebrow challengingly and asked, "Well then what do you think happened? Because that sure is how I remember it!"

"Once upon a time," I said in a voice that made it sound like I was talking to a seven year old instead of a seventeen year old. "There were three best friends. Two of them fell very much in love and when a girl and a boy love each other very much-"

"Oh God you are not going there!!!!" Jayden burst laughing and I had to join him; his laugh was contagious.

"No but really, what do we tell them?" I asked once we had both caught our breaths from the eruption of laughter.

"We don't have to tell them anything. They all already assume we're a thing so let them keep assuming." Jay shrugged and it was then that I sat up. My neck had started to hurt from craning it up to look at him.

"Okay... So we're not telling them, but just assuming they know?" I asked, not entirely sure if I understood where he was coming from.

His piercing green eyes crinkled around the sides when he smiled and my eyes - of their own accord - travelled down to his lips.

I want to kiss hiiiiim!!

That's when it hit me. I could kiss Jay whenever I wanted to, he was my boyfriend-

Wait, no he wasn't. I mean, we loved each other but we hadn't said that we were exactly dating.

And as much as I wanted to know if we were or not I didn't want to ask. I don't know what was keeping me from asking but I just didn't.

"That's exactly what I mean!" He exclaimed, smiling but then frowned as his eyes scanned my face.

"What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.

I shook my head, putting a smile onto my face. "Nothing!"

Jayden didn't believe me but wasn't going to push it.

And it was probably best that way because Mackenzie and Trent walked through the front door with amazing smelling food which made my stomach grumble.

It was nearly four o' clock and I hadn't eaten anything all day.

"Hey guys!" Kenzie smiled, handing us each a box of what I now recognized as Thai noodles.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" I chanted, smiling while graciously accepting the food.

"Where's Ty and Caleb?" Jayden asked after thanking Kenzie for the food as well.

Trent smiled, sitting down on the recliner near the door. "They went for a quick surf, they said they'd be back in an hour tops."

I nodded, then opened the box and dug in with my plastic fork and spoon. The Thai didn't use knives to eat, I never knew why.

Kenzie walked across the room and sat on the daybed, both her and Trent looking at myself and Jay expectantly.

After I had succesfully inhaled my Thai, I put the box on the coffee table and looked between the two of them.

"What?" I finally asked, pulling my legs up onto the couch.

"Well..." Kenzie started, then just smiled. "You two are actually a thing now, right?"

I smirked and decided to be a complete smartass.

"Nope," I shook my head as well and I saw Jay nearly choke on his noodles in my peripheral vision.

"What do you mean??" Jayden asked, voicing everyone's confusion.

"Well technically," I started, a smug smile consuming my face. "You have not asked me out. Therefore we are not 'actually a thing'," I said, using my fingers to form quotation marks over what Kenzie had said.

Kenzie and Trenton started laughing while Jay just shook his head with a small smile toying on the edge of his lips.

"Fine, will you" he paused, turning to face me. "Please pass me the soy sauce?"

As annoying as it was, I wasn't surprised. I knew he would come up with a smartass response.

"God, you guys are perfect together!" Kenzie exclaimed from the daybed and I laughed.

After Jay finished his noodles I had to ask. It had been bugging me all day. "How did Caleb get you all out of the house anyway?"

It was Trenton this time who answered. "Everyone else just said they were leaving and I didn't want to stay behind and be the third wheel so I left with them."

I nodded but when I turned to see Kenzie she smiled evilly. "Well that may be your side of the story," she told Trent, then turned to look at me with the scary smile staying on her face. "What really happened was that Caleb explained the," she paused, looking for the right word. "Situation to me, so I decided to go with him. Then Tyler wanted to come when I said I was going and then Trent didn't want to third wheel, as he said."

I glowered at her and she just laughed like a true evil villain.

"Wait, there was more? What happened??" Trent asked, sounding so much younger that he was.

"All in good time young Grasshopper," Jay dismissed him and he frowned.

"I'll tell you later," Kenzie said with a wink and I shook my head.

I was about to tell her that she wouldn't and the many reasons I wouldn't do that if I were her until Tyler came running into the house with only his boardies on. He was still dripping wet, but that's not what worried me.

What was anguishing was that he was rushing into the house and yelling so many things at us while supporting Caleb. It took me a minute to figure out what was wrong, but after I did I freaked out.

I had looked down to Caleb's leg and there was something off about it. His bone was sticking out at an awkward angle and you could see it nearly protruding the skin of his lower leg.

"Everyone get in the car! We're going to the hospital!" Tyler's words finally sunk in and everyone was in motion.

I quickly ran down the hall and grabbed clothes out of Ty's room then ran out to the car, locking it behind me.

I climbed into the back seat with Jayden. Caleb was sitting in the passenger seat, his face distorted in pain.

I'd always wondered what it'd be like to break a bone, but now from the look on Caleb's face, I decided I didn't want to know.

I was hardly aware of Jay's hand in mine, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on the back of my hand as we drove the twenty minutes to the hospital.
