Dark glanced at him out of the corner of his eye. "Stop screaming," he ordered. "You're so loud. Ugh."

Jack forced himself to stop shrieking as he scrambled to put on his seatbelt, his heart pounding. Yeah, I get told that a lot, he thought, taking a deep breath. "You're going to crash!" He suddenly yelled, his eyes widening. "Turn, turn the wheel—"

Dark swung the truck to the left, barely avoiding colliding into a parked car. Jack's pulse roared in his ears as Dark sped down the road, going at 30 miles per hour when Jack knew the speed limit was only 5.

"Slow down!" He begged, squeezing his eyes shut before opening them again worriedly, afraid Dark would make a mistake while he was distracted, leading them both to their dooms.

"Oh, relax!" Dark sighed, rolling his eyes. "I remember how to drive now!"

"Do you? Because it does not seem like it!" Jack screeched, his voice raising in panic as Dark again narrowly avoided crashing; this time into a mailbox. "You almost hit that!" He told him, shaking his head.

"Don't you think I realized? Besides, it's only a mailbox. Chill out," Dark huffed.

He's telling me to chill out? He's the one with the anger issues, I'm just terrified for my life! Jack thought indignantly, his mouth going dry. "We're on crowded streets and you are speeding," he reminded him. "This is not something to be chill about."

Dark groaned and scowled at him in the rearview mirror. "Please, could you just keep your mouth shut? We have a long drive ahead of us and I honestly don't feel like knocking you unconscious right now."

Jack buried his face into his hands. This was just perfect, wasn't it? He started to get sick as he closed his eyes, feeling the truck hurtle down the street. He again was glad it was around six in the morning. Only a few people getting to work early would be out, so it was slightly-less dangerous.

"Oh, did I just run a red light?" Dark asked, mostly to himself. Jack's head snapped up. "You did what?" He yelled. "Why—"

"Quiet!" Dark screamed over top of him. "You are not helping the situation."

Jack was tempted to throw up. He was partially grateful they didn't take his car, but then again, it was at a shop getting tuned up, so they couldn't really use it, anyway.

"In ten minutes, we'll be on the highway," Dark informed him, as if that was supposed to make him feel better.

Jack just groaned and buried his face into his hands again, hoping with all his might that they didn't crash.
