MARLENE KINNZEL WAS AT A local cafe having lunch with her husband, Theo, when she got a call. It was her boss, asking her to come in early for a patient. She was a psychiatrist for the local hospital and prison, it depended on who called her in really.

"Sorry, Theo. I gotta run. A patient at work is throwing a row and won't do anything till I get there." She explained as she got up and kissed his cheek. "I'll be back by ten."

As she got to her office, the patient, who she now recognised as Jack Robins, was tapping his fingers on her desk. Pulling her chair back, she sat down and leaned forwards. Refusing to start the conversation, Jack then leaned forwards aswell. Marlene sighed.

"What happened Jack? You were having great progress last week. Why the sudden aggression?"

Jack licked his rough, chapped lips and fell back on his chair. "They took away my playing cards, so I took their life."

Marlene started to take notes in her notebook, but stopped when she felt something dripping from her nose. At first she thought it was just a runny nose, so she got some tissue and wiped it. Once she saw the tissue, she then proceeded to touch her top lip with her fingers. The psychiatrist retracted her hand and spotted blood all over her fingers.

"What's wrong, Doc? You look a little pale." Jack joked, smiling widely. Marlene shook her head and continued to ask questions to her patient.

"It's probably nothing. See? It's stopped now." She brushed off. "So...Have you had any recent urges? Any needs to kill? Animals? People? Yourself?"

Jack just laughed. "What do you think?"

"I think that this is some reaction to a past event. Maybe a cheating lover? A death of a family member that you were close to?" The woman replied as she started to sway without realising.

"No, no. I think it was my will to make people smile and laugh. Do you want to know how I got these scars? It's a funny story really." He questioned, clasping his hands together infront of him.

"I don't see how that has any relevance to the topic, Jack. Can we- can we continue..." Marlene started to say, but stopped when she was hit with a sudden weakness in her body. Causing her to fall off her chair and collapse onto the floor, where she blacked out.

When she woke up, she was surrounded by white. Obviously in a hospital room. Marlene had seen enough of them with her job. She looked beside her and noticed Theo asleep next to her bed. He woke up when Marlene placed her hand onto of his and smiled when he saw her awake.

"Hey..." She greeted weakly, but still smiling at her husband.

"Hey." He greeted back, patting her hand with his own. "I'm so glad you're awake. What do you remember?"

Marlene looked off into the distance as she recalled her last memory. "I was with my patient, Jack. I had a nose bleed and then- then I passed out some time later."

Theo nodded and then the door opened, revealing a doctor. "How are you feeling, Marlene?" The man asked as he got closer with a clipboard.

"Better as soon as I know what's wrong with me." She answered, sitting up straighter.

"Do you want the good news? Or the bad news first?" The doctor questioned.

"The bad news." Both Marlene and Theo replied simultaneously.

"Good because there is no good news i'm afraid." He said looking at the ground.

'Well then why would you ask in the first place? What a dick.' She thought.

"Go on then doctor, what is it?" Theo insisted, nearly falling off his seat in the process.

"You have Leukaemia Mrs. Kinnzel. I'm afraid that we cannot treat it as it has progressed too far. You have a month, two at most. Spend it wisely." The doctor informed.

Marlene started to cry into Theo's shoulder. A nurse with fiery red hair came in and set a plate of food infront of the pair after the doctor left. The seductive look the nurse sent went unnoticed by the crying woman, but was appreciated by Theo as he smirked back at her before she too walked out the room.

It was a couple days later and Marlene was being released early. Her husband had left the day before claiming he had to go to work. She wanted to surprise him when she got home, wanting to spend every waking moment with him before she passed.

Marlene got home at about eleven pm and went to unlock the front door. There was no need though, as the door was already open. Theo wasn't supposed to be home until midnight, so she went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. She explored the apartment, but no-one seemed to be there. However, when she heard noises coming from the bedroom, she quietly made her way over.

When she opened the door, she expected someone robbing the place, or even wrecking it with the noises that came from inside. But, instead she witnessed her very own husband cheating on her in their bed with some red-headed woman. Theo hadn't even realised his wife was there because the woman was riding him, blocking his view. Well, he could after Marlene had dragged the woman off of him by her hair and onto the floor, knife still in hand. He sat up in shock and covered his junk with the bed cover.

"Marlene, your home!" Theo exclaimed in shock, his wife had a look of fury on her face as she locked the door and placed the key in her pocket.

"Yes, I am! What are you doing?! How could you? Who is she!" She shouted pointing to the red-head who was standing up, now wrapped in her work clothes. Marlene then observed her clothes and instantly recognised her. "The nurse?! The fucking nurse? Are you frickin' kidding me?!"

The other woman shrunk back in the corner and tried to defend herself, "He s-said you were his sister."

"Well he fucking lied. I'm his bloody wife!" Marlene shouted and then turned to her husband again. "Why? Why'd you do it?" She demanded.

"You're dying, Marley. There's no point in caring! May as well get a head start with that knife you got there!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. Marlene suddenly got even more furious, her rage had now taken over.

"I'll show you what I can do with a knife!" She shouted and pulled the nurse up by the back of her neck. The woman started crying a river and pleading to Marlene: "Please, please let me go."

Marlene took none of it and slit the slut's throat, blood going all over the walls and white bed sheets. She then dropped the dying girl and moved towards her bastard of a husband. He backed away in fear, no longer caring if his crown jewels were on show. This was a matter of life and death for him. Theo got up and tried to take the knife, but somehow she slipped it past him and embedded it into his chest. He fell to the floor, choking on his own blood.

She straddled him and repeatedly stabbed him over and over again. "You. Cheating. Prick. I. Loved. You. And. You. Cheated. On. Me." Marlene started to sob, ceasing from stabbing him again. "You did it when I needed most. You were meant to be by my side when I had my last dying breath. You caused this. This is your fault Theo!" She screamed, dropping the knife.

All of a sudden she came to her senses and looked around the room. Blood was everywhere, on the walls, the floor, even on the ceiling. "What am I going to do?!" Marlene cried, collapsing to the floor.

'Trash the place.' A sudden voice said in her mind.

"What?" She she asked in confusion.

'Trash the place! Make it look like a robbery murder.' The voice insisted, almost screaming at her.

Marlene picked up the knife and wiped it with a near by towel, and stuck it in her husband's chest. Then, she pushed everything off the shelves and broke everything fragile in the room.

'Now call the police and then cradle his body in your arms. Don't forget to unlock the bedroom door.' It instructed and she did just that.

A few minutes later, she could hear the ambulance and police cars outside. Luckily all of her neighbours were out when she killed her husband and the woman, so no-one heard their argument. The feds came rushing in and opened the bedroom door, witnessing Marlene cry with her husband's body in her arms. They pried her away and took her to the station to ask her questions as some detectives examined the crime scene.

Marlene was the main suspect at first glance, but after she put on her crocodile tears, they seemed to believe her story about coming home from the hospital and finding her husband and the woman dead in their room. The police stated to the press that Theo and the woman, found out to be called Nyssa Scott, were killed during a robbery and cheating on his wife. She was still in the station, sitting on a chair by the front desk, when her nose started to bleed again. Marlene patted her pockets for a tissue, but she had used them all to clean the blood off her hands.

There was a sudden shadow over her, causing her to look up. There was a man there, in a suit, offering her a tissue. She grabbed it gratefully and wiped the blood from her nose. The man smiled and took a seat beside her, he retrieved a card from his pocket and handed that to her aswell.

"Hello, i'm the recruiter. I'd like to make you an offer."
