|Chapter-1| Aaina's Nightmare
"There's a heavy blue in my eyes, one to love one to lose."
She stood there stunned, huddled behind the dark mahogany door seeking a chance to enter the darkened room. Her heart beating like a drum against her rib cage and she was sure the whole world could hear her heartbeat, right now. She was scared. Hell Terrified, more likely.
The hyena-like laughs continued from inside followed by the echoing sound of slaps and shrill screams crumbling her resolve to wait with each passing second. She couldn't wait anymore and hear her sister scream. No, she had to take action. What if they killed her sister before the police really arrived on the scene? No, she couldn't take the chance. She has already lost her brother. She can't lose her sister too. Mind made.
She barged in the room startling the occupants with her sudden entry, taking full advantage of their momentarily shocked state she broke the nearest bottle of alcohol pointing it's sharp edges threateningly towards the three males occupying the room. She thought there would be more but she isn't going to complain regarding these small mercies. As certain as she was of her school taught self-defense skills, she didn't want to take any chances here.
With calculated steps not once turning her back towards the men. She reached her sister. "Never turn your back towards your enemies," she remembers the words with all her heart. Defense classes weren't her favorite but they were essential part of her life none the less.
Her intoxicated bleeding sister with partially shredded clothes. It was a right mess and she knew if she was just a few second late. Her sister might have been deflowered quite violently. The thought was enough to ignite a violent surge of anger through her but she controlled her emotions. She can't let emotions mess up this situation. Carefully, she uplifted her sister and made her lean on her while continuing to point her makeshift weapon in their direction. The makeshift weapon which was also tearing her own skin apart.
Slowly, steadily she walked out of the room not taking her gaze away from them. She didn't want to be taken by a surprise tackle and lose it all. Well, How will be her bravery be useful to her and her sister if both of them died here tonight?
She locked the room from outside and rushed with her sister in her arms towards her car. She didn't know she has that much power. She never did. But the training with her Bapi might have helped her in this situation. The echoes of shots following them closely.
The moment she started the engine of her car, a bullet went past her shoulder and she cried out loud feeling the scorching hot pain. It hurt, hurt more than anything else. The pain was unbearable. She never felt so much ever in her life.
But she knew what she needed to do so she drove for their life depended on it. she knew they both will die if she didn't manage to get out of here today. She had messed up quite a lot, already. She couldn't take any more risks.
A little more, a little longer she assured herself help is on the way. A little longer, bear a little longer. Be a little braver. She kept on repeating in her head.
It was a hard job making her heart believe what her mind chanted as her heart continued racing and beating like a time bomb in her chest with each echo of the shots behind her.
The continuous gunshots behind her following them like death, some lodging in the body of the car. Some missing them from inches as tears leaked silently down her eyes. She was afraid deadly afraid and terrified, her whole body was working on autopilot racing the car against time.
One hand on the driving wheel, other on the gear as she stole silent glances at the girl bleeding on the passenger seat.
Watching the steep turn ahead, her heart fluttered in her pharynx, ready to strangle her at any moment but she continued racing not caring about her bleeding palm where the glass piece has lodged itself in her hast of making a makeshift weapon or the scorching pain on her shoulder where the bullet has lodged itself.
She could feel the darkness swirling in her eyes, darkness calling her to sleep. The allure of sleeping was so strong yet she couldn't give in not now.
She managed the turn somehow, her whole body aching as if she had manually turned the car. The bright light of an oncoming car flashed in her eyes, blinding her momentarily and then she took a sigh of relief watching the police cars in front of her.
They are safe, they made it out alive.
She halted her car in front of them and the next moment she was in the hospital. In the waiting room because she is stubborn. She knew she shouldn't be here.
The good officer told her many times and so did the doctor but she is here cause she has too. She has to know, how is her sister.
The collision was brutal on her side and still, she needed to know how is her sister.
She was in the waiting room with the kind officer when she heard footsteps behind her.
She turned around to find her parents along with Dadima and an unknown lady walking her way.
"Ma" she whispered with tearful eyes watching her mother.
She wanted to tell her mother how afraid she was - how she thought she won't see them again, see her again.
But before she could say anything or cry her heart out hugging her mother. A tight slap landed on her cheek as she stared at her mother with shock filled eyes.
"You snatched my one child away from me, now you want to snatch my other child too. Whenever you're here, you cause only trouble for the family. You only hurt and harm my children. Why can't you let me and my children live happily? Why you try to snatch everything away from me? What were you even thinking? Why can't you be like your sister?? Why do you have to be like this" her mother raged sobbing as she stood there stoic bearing her mother's hits on her already aching body?
She watched as her father motioned Dadi Ma to take her mother away. She was hurt but knew her mother was more so. She knew her father would hear her out first. Her father will listen to her. Her father always cared for her. Her father always loved her.
But today there was darkness looming in her father's eyes, darkness and rage she never saw in her father's eyes. For today the great SSO was standing before her not her father.
"What were you even thinking? I know you don't care about the family reputation and all much but this was extreme Shivanya. Your sister could have died because of you and yet here you're standing like this you're the victim. Go away from here. I should have listened to them. I should have known they were right. You'll always hurt them. Take her away, take her away from here. Never inform me where you've taken her. Never inform me anything about her whereabouts." She heard her father order the stranger and the officer standing with her in an enraged voice and she couldn't believe, just couldn't believe her father is doing this with her.
Her father is sending her away with strangers like this.
"But Papa" She tried to tell him the truth, she tried to inform him about everything in a broken voice but he turned his back towards her, her father turned away from her.
"But sir" the officer standing with her tried but even he got the same reaction.
"Didn't I make myself clear. Take her away from here. Don't show me her face ever again" her father told her in an enraged voice
"Go away, don't inform me anything about her ever again. Get lost." her father commanded and left, left her with two strangers and shattered soul.
She wanted to scream at her father to not leave her, to not do this with her. It wasn't her mistake. She did nothing wrong.
She went to save her only but no words escaped her lips. It felt as if some invisible hold on her was stopping her from screaming as the two strangers dragged her away from the premises of the hospital.
She continued looking back towards her father wishing he'll turn once and see her heartbreak. He didn't and the invisible force on her body broke as she screamed on top of her voice "PAPA" and the world broke into flames.
Almost instantly, her eyes opened with a jerk. Her body sitting upright, her breaths falling short. It took her a couple of seconds to adapt to the surrounding darkness and the continuous ringing of her phone. She took the phone from her bedside table, the time displaying 2' O clock at night and she has just fallen asleep. God, will this nightmares ever stop? Everyday a new demon was lurking in her dreams. She thinks she should stop sleeping all together. At least, nowadays her reality is better than her dreams. So, maybe she should give up on sleep. No past, No demons, No second thoughts, No hurt will touch her then maybe. And she'll get extra time for more work.
Her thoughts continued swirling along the darkness of her mind. Her heart repeating the taboo word "Papa" like a mantra. She isn't Shivanya. She isn't Shivanya. She isn't Shivanya. She didn't know whether it was her mind, soul, heart or something entirely different and sinister in her mind reminding her of this. But it wasn't helping. So many names, so many emotions, so much darkness and the allure of darkness was never easy to reject.
The ringing of her cell came as her saving grace. Her Knight, rescuing her from her own demons. Her own darkness.
She took slow measured breaths through her mouth trying to calm herself, shake away her emotions. Specially her anger and maybe control her sudden fear. Sighing, every emotion out. She checked the caller ID, 4 missed calls from Pakoda.
Not knowing what new disaster lined this world now, she called back to Pakoda aka Parth.
"What happened Parth?" She asked him as soon as he picked up the call in an all professional tone, not letting any traces of her panic or sleep show in her voice. For she is Aaina and Aaina never shows any weakness.
"M.mm...mam, I can't find Viaan sir. He isn't at his place. He isn't picking his call. He has a flight in 2 hours and he isn't there. I don't know what to do? Is he fine mam? Is he kidnapped? Should I contact the police? the poor panicking lad asked her, worried out of his mind and terrified apparently.
"No need, cancel the flight and tell whatever shoot he was supposed to be at sorry. Try to reschedule it if you can? I'll see where Viaan is." She told him as she got out of her bed already walking towards her overcoat.
"Yes, mam" Parth affirmed sighing in relief to not have to deal with Viaan anymore as she disconnected the call.
"Viaan Kundra will be my death," She thought frustrated as she drove on the almost deserted roads of Delhi towards the Feroz Shah Kotla, cursing Viaan to infinity in her mind.
That guy won't ever let her rest in peace ever in her entire life. She thinks he lives to torment her like this. God, why is he her best friend again? Being best friends means equal rights to annoy each other right? So, why is he the one using the right to infinity? God, Why is she friend with crazy people again? She sighed in relief spotting his limbo outside the stadium.
"Well, Vi here I come, just don't be doing something stupid."
~to be continued~
So, what do you think guys? Are you all ready for a roller coaster journey of desires, messed up emotions and love.
