Selina and the Child Snatchers

PLEASE VOTE AND COMMENT!

At the precinct Jim Gordon just got done talking to the mayor, Harvey and Sarah Essen on what will happen with the homeless kids when a police officer calls to him. He doesn't like the idea of the homeless teenagers being sent to juvie upstate, but there isn't anything he can do about it.

"Yo Gordon," said the police officer, "Man's been waiting for you upstairs."

Jim looks up to see Alfred, who's overlooking the scene below him. Jim heads upstairs to meet Alfred.

"Mr. Pennyworth," Jim greets the man joining him.

"Alfred, please," said Alfred. "It's bedlam, isn't it? Rough job you got."

"Best job in the world," Jim states.

"I wonder if it might be convenient for you to visit us tomorrow," Alfred said.

"Of course," Jim said then asks, "Why? Is something wrong?"

"I don't know," Alfred replies, "Never had a child before."

"Nor me, until recently," Jim states thinking about the twins.

"The boy respects you," Alfred said, "Teatime, shall we say?"

The two men shake hands.

"Teatime," Jim agrees.

Alfred then walks away and Jim stares after him.

The twins were at the GCPD when the homeless kids, who were rescued by their adoptive father and Harvey Bullock, were there and they saw them being led away by the police to the buses to take them to upstate, that's when they notice one of them, Selina Kyle, had something fall out of her pocket.

The kids ran up to where it dropped, when Jamie picked it up, they saw it was a small silver locket.

They tried calling out for her, "Hey, hey. You dropped this. Come back, you dropped this." They even tried waving it in the air, but the girl didn't hear the boy and girl or even see them.

"Come on Julia. We need to give this back to that girl," Jamie said to his sister.

"Shouldn't we give it to Daddy and he gives it to her?" Julia asks.

Jamie shook his head, "Papa is busy now, and what if she does not come back, or what if she can't. Come on we got to give it back to her ourselves."

"Works for me," Julia shrugs, and they left to follow them.

Jamie and Julia followed the homeless kids to a group of buses that were similar to school buses, except they said "Corrections" on them instead of "School Bus." They look around until they spot the girl arguing with a police woman.

"There she is," Julia smiles, but then her smile turns into a frown when she sees the girl going on the bus, turning to Jamie she asks, "Now what are we going to do?"

Jamie answers, "We will have to give it to her on the bus."

Julia frowns, "But Jamie that lady will never let us through."

Jamie responds by saying, "We will just have to sneak past her and not let her see us. We will just go on the bus, give back her back her necklace and then get off. Follow me."

The two kids then crept quietly to the bus carefully to not let anyone see them. When they got to the bus they slowly and quietly snuck past the lady, who was talking with one of the kids, and onto the bus.

When they find the girl they see that she's looking for something but can't find it. She then looks up front and she sees the boy and girl coming towards her.

"Here you dropped this," Jamie said handing the locket back to Selina and she takes it.

Selina opens the locket with the picture of her mother and smiles, and looks back at the two kids, and smiled, "Thanks, kids. The name's Selina, Selina Kyle. But my friends call me Cat."

Jamie then introduced himself and his sister, "My name is Jamie and this is my sister Julia."

"What are you two doing on this bus?" Selina asked, "You don't look like you would be sent upstate. Two little kids like you wouldn't last a week in juvie."

Jamie and Julia looked at each other confused, then back at Selina.

Julia answers, "We don't know what upstate or juvie is, but when we saw you and you dropped your necklace we were trying to find you to give it back to you, because it looked like it was important to you."

"It is. Thanks," Selina said with a smile.

They then turn to see a boy sitting next Selina crying.

"What's wrong?" Julia asks with a look of innocent concern, "Are you okay?"

Selina decided to comfort the boy by offering his some "friendly" advice, "Hey," she nudges him, "Relax kid, juvie's not so bad. First week, whatever you do, don't make friends with anyone that's friendly. When you get into a fight, go for their eyes," Selina said flexing her hands a little, like claws, at the boy, then she turned back to Jamie and Julia, "You kids better get off before you get caught."

Jamie and Julia both nod, but before the twins could they heard the door close and a woman's voice.

"Hiya kids. How you doing?" a woman asks cheerfully, "Are you ready to go on a big adventure?"

Upon hearing her voice and recognizing the woman's face, Selina jumps up from her seat and tries to exit the back of the bus. Jamie and Julia see her looking frighten and both of them realize that something isn't right.

"Sit down young lady! I said sit down! Like now!" The woman demands taking out a gun.

Selina does as she's told, after she realized that the exit wouldn't open, Jamie and Julia do the same and sat down across from her with frighten looks on their little faces.

"Okay. Next naughty child to stand up gets a black mark right here," The lady says pointing to her forehead.

Jamie and Julia knew what a gun looked like and what it does, they remember their old mother use to keep a gun and they heard what the loud and scary weapons could do after they were abandoned and it terrified them both. As the bus started moving the two children clung to each other completely scared. Jamie was trying to be brave for Julia, but even he was having trouble. They didn't want to be on this bus, they wanted their mommy and daddy and they wanted to go home.

Back at the GCPD, the Mayor burst into Commissioner Essen's office. "One or two or three I could explain that but a whole bus load, a while bus load of the little ba****** what am I supposed to say? Oops?! Just tell me it wasn't them, tell me it wasn't the snatchers, I'm begging you!" said the Mayor desperately.

"The bus driver was a man the guard was a woman. It could be them," Essen answered.

"You're killing me. You're killing me!" the Mayor wailed.

"We're working it your honor," Essen tries to reassure the Mayor.

A couple officers then came into the office and whispered some disturbing news to the captain, as she was listening Sarah had a worried frown on her face and went to talk to Jim Gordon.

"Jim, I'd like a word with you in my office, now," Essen demands.

"Yes, of course," Jim answers, following Sarah to the office, "What is it?"

"I'm afraid that I have received some rather disturbing news," Essen frowned with deep concern and worry, "It seems that Jamie and Julia might have been taken by the child snatchers."

Jim had a look of horror on his face, "What?! Why?! They aren't homeless, not anymore. Why would the child snatchers take them?" Jim asks with a mixture of fear, anxious and anger.

"I don't know Jim. It could've been by mistake, I'm sorry. Do you want us to inform your fiancee?" Essen asks.

"No. All that will do is cause her panic. No, it is best if we find out what happened first before I inform her," Jim decided.

A few seconds later, Jim was at his desk, turning to his partner he says, "Come on Harvey, let's go question that sniveling coward, Quillton. Oh and Harvey, feel free to use any methods necessary to get the information, even beating the crap out of him."

"Woah, woah there partner, why all the hostility all of a sudden?" Harvey asked.

"Those child snatchers have kidnapped my children," Jim tells him with an angry look.

"Oh man, that's just.... I'm so sorry Jim," Harvey said with genuine sympathy, "But don't worry, we'll find them."

"We had better or you're going to have to dig me a grave because Barbara will kill me," Jim states, then added, "And if anything happens to them I will never forgive myself."

Back at the apartment when Barbara heard a knock on her door she went to answer it. When she opens the door and sees that it's Renee Montoya, Barbara frowns at how she just won't listen.

"I thought I told you to never come back," Barbara said to the woman.

"Look, I'm sorry. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't extremely important," Montoya said coming in.

"Okay, what's so important?" Barbara asks crossing her arms.

"How much has Jim told you about the child snatchers?" Montoya asked.

"Jim is a professional he doesn't like talking to me about work," Barbara responds.

"Even if his case involves the safety of your children?" Montoya asked.

"Are you threatening my children?" Barbara growled dangerously stepping closer to the woman.

"No. No, I would never," Montoya insisted, holding her hands up, shaking her head, "The truth is your children were among the group of children taken by the child snatchers."

"That's impossible. Jim wouldn't keep information like that from me. Get out Montoya I am tired of your lies!" Barbara snapped.

"I am truly sorry about your children, but if you don't believe me why don't you call him and check on your children," Montoya told Barbara, "I bet you he will come up with some excuse as to why you shouldn't come down to the precinct. Go ahead, call him..."

"Fine," Barbara decided, "I'll call him but only to prove that you're wrong."

Meanwhile, Harvey and Jim are in a cell with Morry Quillan and Harvey is hitting him with a phone book.

"Look I told you everything that I know, I told you," Quillan whimpers.

"Now you see that man there?" Harvey asks pointing to Jim, standing nearby with his arms crossed not giving a care of what Harvey is doing to the man, especially since his adopted children were nabbed by the same snatchers. "He doesn't like it when I beat people but for you he's got no objection. Why is that?"

"Math. The lives of thirty-two children verses one scumbag," Jim replies coldly, "Not to mention two of those children who were snatched are my adopted son and daughter."

"So I can beat you like a bongo drum, and St. Jim here won't intervene," Harvey replies.

"Give us something," Jim replies. Harvey goes to hit him with the book again and Quillan pleads with us.

"Okay, okay! The truck. When they came to pick up the last bunch of kids on the side of it there was a picture, like a logo," Quillan said, "I didn't want to say before because it would give a bad impression. See it doesn't reflect really what you know."

"What was it?" Jim demanded not wanting to waste any time with his blubbering when he wanted to find Jamie and Julia.

"It was a blue plate and a sliver fork," Quillan said.

"A plate and a fork?" Harvey frowned looking at Jim.

"Yeah you know like?" Quillan replies making an eating motion.

"Like a catering company? Like food?" Harvey demands a look of disgust on his face.

"Like that I mean, you know... That doesn't mean.... You know...." Quillan trails off.

"It doesn't mean what?" Jim demands.

"Look, I don't know what they do to them," Quillan said. Harvey goes to hit him again and he screams, but Jim stops him.

"Hey. Hey. All right. Draw the logo," Jim tells him, holding up a notebook he then turns to Harvey. "Uncuff him."

As Jim was watching Quillan drawing the logo there was a knock on the door incoming us that we have received a phone call. Harvey goes and answers the phone.

"Hello," Harvey answers the phone, "Detective Bullock here."

"Hi Detective, this is Barbara," Barbara said on the other line, "I was hoping to get a hold of Jim but I seem to be getting a busy signal at his desk."

"Would you like for me to take a message for you?" Harvey asked.

"Yes. I just wanted to inform him that I'll be stopping by in about an hour to pick up Jamie and Julia and take them home for dinner," Barbara informed him.

"An hour?" Harvey asked nervously.

"Yes," Barbara answers.

"I'm not sure that's such a good idea," Harvey responds slightly nervous, "We are really tied up with this child snatchers case."

"Which is why I feel it is best for me to come pick them up," Barbara explains, "This way, Jim can focus on the task at hand and not worry about them."

"It's really not that big of a deal. In fact, Jamie and Julia are so quiet that it's almost as if they aren't even here." Harvey replies with a nervous laugh.

"Since Jim is busy, why don't you put Jamie and Julia on the phone," Barbara decides, "I would like to speak with them to make sure they're okay."

"I can't," Harvey said.

"And why not?" Barbara asks frowning.

"We are playing a game of hide and seek," Harvey said, "It's their turn to hide. If I put them on the phone then it will ruin the game."

"I've about had it with your excuses. Now tell me, what is really going on?" Barbara demanded impatiently.

"I'm sorry, I can't tell you," Harvey said nervously.

"Why not?" Barbara asked with slight irritation in her voice.

"It's not my place to interfere in yours and Jim's relationship. I'm sure that he has a really good reason for not informing you of what's going on," Harvey assured her.

"Put him on the phone," Barbara demands.

"Aw crap. Listen, unfortunately, Jim is in the middle of interrogating a suspect in the Child Snatcher's case. He can't be disturbed but I'll tell him that you called," Harvey said before hanging up the phone.

After Harvey disconnected their call, Barbara frowned at the phone before hanging it up.

"He gave you the run around didn't he?" Montoya asks a slight smug look on her face.

"For your information, I spoke to his partner," Barbara responds crossing her arms.

"Let me guess, he said Jim was preoccupied and he made up a bunch of wild excuses as to why you shouldn't go down to the precinct," Montoya responded, "I knew it. I tried to warn you that Jim wasn't a good guy. You and your children deserve better."

"Get out!" Barbara snapped.

"Barbara you shouldn't be alone at a time like...." Montoya says, but is cut off by Barbara.

"I SAID GET OUT!" Barbara screams throwing her scotch glass at her, which Montoya decided to be smart and leave.

Back at the GCPD, Jim saw that Harvey had a look of distress on his face, which made Jim suspect something was wrong. Jim asked in concern. "Harvey what happen? Did someone die?"

"No, but you're going to wish you had," Harvey frowned.

"Why? Who was that on the phone?" Jim asked.

"Your fiancee," Harvey replies looking sympathetic and apologetic.

"Oh no," Jim looked upset, "You didn't. Tell me you didn't."

"I didn't have too," Harvey answered, "She knew. I don't know how but she knew."

Jim puts his head in his hands both worried, scared and upset, worried because he didn't know where Jamie and Julia were, scared of what will happen to them if he can't find them and upset not only because Barbara knows now but also because the snatchers took his children along with the homeless children.
