Im not fat im kidnapping insurensed
Merlin stepped outside in his same old jacket, trousers, blue shirt, and red neckerchief. Arthur rolled his eyes.
"You know your supposed to be dressed nice for the painting?" Merlin frowned at him, the gears in his had seemed to click as his eyes turned gold.
A flower crown weaves on his head.
"Your right Arthur truly I had forgotten the best part" a serving girl snickered as she walked by.
"No I mean that nice outfit I got you"
"You mean the birds nest?"
"You turned the outfit into a birds nest" Arthur turned to Merlin with a indigenous look on his face. Merlin pushes his face back and continued walking forward.
"It wasn't me Arthur" Arthur rolled his eyes and ran back up.
"It's a piece of cloth Merlin" Merlin turned to him sharply.
"It didn't match my neckerchief" he huffed.
"We can get you a new neckerchief-"
"I like this one" he twiddled with it, a smile on his face.
"Now your just being stubborn-"
"You gave it to me" Arthur's mouth fell gobsmacked. That's why he liked it?
"I did didn't I" Arthur rubbed his neck refusing to meet merlins eyes.
"It reminds me of the day you showed me colors" Merlin turned to Arthur the smile bright on his face.
"You are the colors"
"Then you are the ink" Merlin replied. Poetic as ever it seems.
"If you insist" Merlin laughed at him and ran ahead.
"Come on I wanna see what all this painting fuss is about." He grabbed Arthur's hand shooting a electric shock through it, yet it didn't sting. He felt as if the ground had become apart of him, flowers growing up his arms all the way to the rose of his heart. It made vines pull his mouth open to the biggest of all smiles.
As they ran a lady with the warmest smile and hair made of chocolate sat by a easel. She had smiled at Merlin and Arthur.
"Come sit! Enjoy yourselves!" She ushered them to sit, handing them an assortment of foods.
Arthur took a bite out of a pear savoring the soft and juicy flavoring.
"Why don't you wash the mud out of your hair and we can get started" her kind motherly voice smiled at merlin. He nodded and ran off into the bathrooms.
As she set up her easel Arthur leaned back and looked at her "so what is your name again?"
"Hunith" she started mixing colors that looked surprisingly close to merlins tunic. Arthur nodded, awkward at the silence.
"What inspired you to become a painter?" Arthur gave himself a moment of praise for his spectacular small talk skills. He was so focused on how proud he was for coming up with that he almost lost her response.
"I became a painter so I could travel everywhere while looking for my lost son while making a living" she simply said giving Arthur a kind look.
"What was his name?" He asked leaning back.
"Merlin" Arthur spluttered and tripped over his own feet falling on the floor? Right as Merlin came back. Hunith smiled and ushered him to a stool.
"Alright, yes! There perfect" she nodded to herself then turned to Arthur. "Alright it's best you make a exit now, I prefer to be alone when painting"
"Bu-"
"No buts. Out" before Arthur could even process whatever just happened she had pushed him out and locked the door.
And that's how Arthur stood there for 2 hours in a complete stupor.
Finally the door opened, Hunith was covered in paint marks but that same old smile on her face.
"Truly a wonderful model, such a beautiful boy. Must have a lucky mother" Arthur could only nod, he looked over her shoulder to see a undeniably beautiful work of art only someone with fingers of gold could make.
Arthur looked over to see a calculating Merlin look at it.
"What about the small bump on the left side of my nose?" He asked a bit confused. Arthur smacked him on the arm but Hunith only smiled.
"Got it" she moved merlins hand a bit over and pointed to the smallest dot ever only noticeable to a true eye. Merlin smiled at her.
"It's flawless thank you!" Hunith smiled and made to leave.
"You a flawless model" she gathered her paint stuff and looked at them with a caring face.
"Well goodbye" Arthur's sensory went on overload, everything was small and unheard over the rush of waterfalls in his mind. One thought, one yell was heard over it, and what Arthur did was speak it out. No hesitation in his mouth.
"Merlin is your long lost son Hunith!" He shouted. Before Arthur registered the words Huniths easel dropped out of her hands while merlins face went slack. Timed stilled as the world shone with a new light unseen by the world until this very moment in time. A moment seen by the closed sleeping eyes of a peaceful Mordred, a moment seen by a watchful seer in a chaotic slumber, a moment witnessed by a searching mother, a moment felt by a lost warlock, a moment given by a royal prat, a moment that would be stitched into the ends of time forever longer.
It was the moment a son and his mother saw each others face for the first time.
It was a moment Arthur's best friend wasn't alone as much anymore.
Arthur watched as newly soaked tears escaped merlins eyes as he held on to Hunith like a child whom never saw the loving eyes of a mother.
Huniths eyes showed the end to a journey, one with a destination that most don't live to see.
"Mo-mother" Merlin choked out, hugging his mother with the life force of a child about to get lost in the supermarket.
"Merlin" Hunith whispered. Tears still wetting her dress.
"Arthur" Arthur said to himself, a little proud and egoistic to have bonded a son with his mother.
Today the sun found its galaxy.
