~Y/N POV~

"You'll be just fine Namjoon, okay? I'll be right over here, I promise."

He nodded before he leaned forward, pressing our foreheads together while we held hands, fingers locking and just taking a moment by ourselves before everything gets started. He was nervous that was clear and he didn't bother to hide it from me but when ever anyone else was to arrive then he was act all tough when I know deep down he was scared of the out come.

Today will be the day he ends a life of someone that wants to die this way to save the people he cares about the most.

The whole pack know of this decision of Namjoon's. The crystal back and ours. Everyone.

It's to take place any minute but Namjoon and I arrived early to the training grounds the alpha chose for reasons we don't know but here is where it is to happen. We wanted to be alone for just a few minutes here so we could just have that silent moment between us like we're having right now. In each others embrace and just feeling that bond between us that's so deep I almost feel like I don't have to be a wolf to know how he's feeling in his moment.

"Sorry to interrupt but Johnathan and the alpha are coming."

Hearing Yoongi's voice made Namjoon and I step back a little but our hands still joined together since he didn't want to let me go just yet and kept me by his side.

"Thank you for coming Yoongi." Namjoon

The two shook hands and Yoongi expressed a thin lipped smile and nodded.

"Of course I would come when my friend needs me. Jin is capable of looking after everyone back home while we're away." Yoongi

Namjoon just nods at him and again the air around us became silent. I made sure to keep myself pressed up against Namjoon as close as I could possibly get to keep him calm from his nerves and it seemed to be working. That was until the alpha's loud voice echoed from the other side of the field.

"Namjoon!! It's great to see you young man!" Alpha

He's an awfully happy man knowing within the next hour he'll be dead. However Johnathan on the other hand standing beside his alpha showed more of a defeated expression on his face and more matched what his alpha should of been feeling in this moment.

Hearing Namjoon's soft sigh I turned my attention back to him, looking up at him softly.

"I better meet him in the middle." Namjoon

I nodded at him and removed myself from his side as he pressed a kiss to my temple but I stood on my tippy toes to steal a kiss on the lips before he had to go.

Coming to stand beside Yoongi, the two of us watched Namjoon slowly yet head held high come to walk towards the alpha in the middle of the field. Johnathan remaining on his side watching as the two men in the middle spoke a few words to each other that I couldn't hear but could make out their mouths moving as if speaking and then sharing a hand shake and a brief hug.

"So remind me what they have to do again?"

I whispered to Yoongi, who just so happens to know more about this then I do and he only just arrived this morning where as I've been here all week.

"Well first they say a few respectful words to one another. They already signed an agreement stating this was a arranged death on an alphas part so that's no problem but now words have been exchanged it's time they change forms and run off into the trees to do what they need to do." Yoongi

As Yoongi spoke I watched both Namjoon and the alpha take steps back from one another, both staring back at one another. Namjoon's back was facing me so I couldn't see his face but the older man was still smiling, so sure of his decision.

The two men nodded at one another before the next second they both changed forms and stood in the field as wolves. Namjoon's tall, muscular black wolf was much bigger than the other brown/reddish coloured wolf. You could just tell who would be the strongest of the two by just looking at them.

The two wolves stood there staring at each other, Namjoon's tail swaying side to side steadily before the brown wolf got into a defence position, growling loudly towards Namjoon, baring his teeth also. Seeing this it was like something changed in Namjoon, and he took copied the same position, head lowered to the floor and butt in the air growling back but the brown wolf snapped his jaws at Namjoon and then took off running when Namjoon made the first move to run towards him.

Now the two wolves disappeared into the trees from our sights and I just let out a loud sigh and stand down on the near wooden bench beside us. I don't know how long this is going to take but I'll wait for him to come back. Yoongi remained silent but stayed standing and watching the trees, almost like he was listening out for something and Johnathan even came to join us and sat beside me, head hung low in deep thought.

I only opened my mouth to talk to him but a loud dog like yelp came from the words along with an extremely loud roar that I've never heard before in my life. It shook the ground beneath my feet and a gust of wind flew through us. Johnathan let out a small sob and Yoongi stiffened slightly, balling up his fists to step in front of me almost protectively. I would ask what happened but judging by the distress of Johnathan I think I know what happened.

The trees made a crashing sound and I looked up to see the big black wolf just mid way of knocking down a tree with his back legs, gruffing with annoyance as if it was in the way. Then proceeded to bend down and drag something large and brown just to drag it along the floor by the scruff of it's neck using it's sharp teeth in the flesh.

Realising that's Namjoon dragging a dead wolf, the alpha to be precise I stood up, a gasp leaving me as I do so and just took that one step closer but Yoongi moved his arm in front of me, shaking his head as if a warning to not go any further.

I frowned at my friend but again I was interrupted from saying anything when Namjoon stomped his large paws and threw his head back into the sky to howl loudly into the sky for what felt like forever until he satisfied himself and launched himself back to the dead wolf, hovering over it's body before snapping it's jaws back into it's flesh to just tear it apart. Why the hell was he doing that?

"NAMJOON!! STOP IT!!"

Shouting at the top of my lungs the wolf stopped, whipped his head in my direction just to stare directly in to my eyes. At first I flinched when I saw the wild wolf in his eyes. That wasn't my Namjoon, it was something else but I held his gaze and the longer we held it the more softer his red eyes became. Sadness, guilt and even fear replaced the previous dark look in his eyes before he shook his head at himself, blinking several times and took off running towards the trees again.

Without question I took off after him, running fast and escaping the hold Yoongi tried to put on my around my wrist but I managed to get away and run as fast as I could after Namjoon. To be honest when I entered the woods I had no idea where he went but I just followed my gut and ran straight, leaping over the tree roots and through bushes, I had to find him and make sure he's okay.

Only did I stop running when I came to a stop by this little stream, seeing his figure laying down on his stomach, staring down at the water flowing down hill. I seen the way his ear twitched so I knew he knew I was here but didn't react other than that.

"Namjoonie, are you okay?"

I asked him almost in whisper because of how soft my voice came out all the while taking small steps towards him so I didn't set him off or anything but he still didn't move.

Standing next to his large wolf form he let out a deep breath through his nose but allowed me to sit beside him and I put my hand just on the side of his neck to stroke his thick fur and down his back. He likes it when I do that, it calms him apparently so that is what I'm going to do. Try and make him feel better. He leaned into my touch, scooting a little more closer and putting his head over my lap almost as if he was curling into me.

"Everything will be fine Namjoon, I promise and I'll be right by your side for whatever you need. I'm not going anywhere alright?"

Stroking the top of his head between his ears to drag down the back of his head to his back and repeat again. He didn't move but closed his eyes contently and drifted off to sleep still resting his head on my lap.

I just know he's going to need me a lot in the near future but I'm prepared for it. No matter what he can rely on me by his side.
