Chapter Four

Lacy’s POV

“What are we gonna do?” I asked.

“Well,” he paused. “Let’s dance,” he grinned pulling me up and dragging me back to the ball.

“Wait no,” I dug my heels into the ground but he was stronger than me. I glared at the back of his head. “But what if people know?” I asked after a while of pulling pulled by my arm.

“Let them, who cares?” he shrugged.

“I care and you should too,” I barked.

“Why? What is done is done,” he said it like it wasn’t a big deal.

“Are you an idiot?” I asked. “People are gonna know,” He sighed heavily turning to me.

“Look Lacy we don’t have a solution for this problem right now, so why don’t have some fun?” he shrugged.

“I suppose,” I sighed. Just as we were about to step through the doors back into the packed ball room we crashed into someone.

“Watch where – Lacy” Melody shouted. “I’ve been looking for you all over,” she grabbed my forearm. “You won’t believe...” she stopped mid-sentence. “You smell different, oh my god you never guess what!” she spoke at light-speed that it made me wince.

“What?” I muttered as my eyes flickered over her appearances, her curled hair had loosened into waves and her cheeks were rosier.

“Well the prince came in with that freaky girl with red eyes... oh what are you doing with him?” she asked taking a step back a little.

“Just talking,” I laughed looking away quickly.

Her eyes narrowed. “No you weren’t,” then she gasped. “Oh my god you were making out.”

“No I wasn’t” I said too quickly.

 I cursed myself as se glared at me. “I’m not stupid Lacy, your hair and the look on your face says it all, excuse me Alpha Blake may I just take my Omega away for a second,” Melody dragged me away before he could reply.

“Melody,” I glared nearly tripping over the tangle of skirts as she pushed me along.

“I never thought you would be into bad boys,” she laughed as I frowned. She was scared of him at the start of the night but now she seemed to be I good spirits. Then it clicked her cheeks were rosier and her face shinier, she had been drinking.

I rolled my eyes before shrugging. “I’m not it just happened,” I said looking around.

“How was it?” she giggled.

“I don’t really want to discuss this right now,” I tried to pull way but the grip on my arm tightened.

“Wait,” she stiffed the air. “You really smell different,” she commented as panic started to boil inside me. “It’s like...” she started to stiff the air around my neck when she gasped. “Oh my god!” she backed away.

“Melody...” I tried.

“OH MY GOD!! HE MARKED YOU!!” she almost screeched.

“No he didn’t Melody...” she cut me off.

“That means you did it...” she clapped a hand to her mouth in shock. “I never thought... you slut!” A growl met my ears as I flinched at the insult. I never thought a word could hurt so much but I didn’t have chance to dwell on the thought because Callum had Melody by the throat.

“What did you call her?” he growled low.

“I...I...” Melody struggled as her eyes widened with fear.

“Callum,” I barked. His head snapped to meet my cold stare, his eyes had turned black like obsidian and was filled with rage but softened when he looked at me. Again I didn’t have chance to dwell on such thoughts as I marched over to him. “Let go of her,” I demanded which made him growl. “Let go!”

“No She-wolf tells me what to do!” His wolf growled. “A specially not, an Omega and one that is half-human!”

I didn’t know what came over me but I slapped him across the face. “I said put her down!” I screamed at him as tears pricked at my eyes. I hated getting angry, because all I do is cry, which made me angrier which made me cry more. It was a various circle!  A growl rippled through the air as he turned to me with rage but that was soon replaced with worry. He dropped Melody who landed on the floor in a heap on skirt and took a step towards me.

“Lacy,” his voice was thick with his wolf and the ghost of his wolf was still present as his ebony eyes flickered over my body.

“No,” I growled my wolf becoming apparent. “Don’t Lacy me you jerk, you are a dick Callum Blake!” I bent down to Melody who was shaking a little. “Hey, are you okay?” I asked her softly.

“I think so,” she croaked.

“I’m so sorry,” I said feeling guilt swirl inside of me.

“It’s okay,” she whispered. “I shouldn’t said anything,” her voice was rough and she seemed to find it hard to speak. “I insulted his mate!”

“She’s not my mate,” Callum barked and I looked up, his eyes were back to a charcoal grey. “I accidently gave her a bonding mark that is it!” His voice was cold.

“Oh,” she said. “But that is basically a claiming,” Melody pointed out.

Callum glared making her flinch. “No it isn’t!” he growled.

I sighed heavily, “Callum.”

“What?” his voice didn’t soften but hardened.

“If you’re gonna be like that I don’t think I want to dance!” I pulled Melody up. “Come one,” I dragged her towards the doors to the Ball room.

“Where are we going?” Melody asked.

“Home,” I snapped glaring at Callum behind me. “I would say it was nice meeting you but it wasn’t!”

Callum’s POV

I watched her retreating back and sighed. I hated She-wolves! I hated public events even more. I stormed back inside to try and find her.

“Alpha Blake,” a she-wolf purred in my ear.

“What?” I growled frantically searching the ball room which had began to empty with each passing minute. “You know what I don’t care,” I pushed the girl out of the way not even taking my time to look her over. That’s when I spotted the woman with champagne coloured hair and I found myself running after her. “Excuse me,” I grabbed her shoulder twirling her to face me.

I was met with a cold glare. “How dare...” then her eyes widened before she bowed her head. “Alpha,” she greeted.

“Where is Lacy?” her head snapped me.

“And what is it you want with my daughter?” her voice hardened.

“I...I...” I hadn’t thought this through. My wolf began to stir in his cage as I began to feel the longing. Oh god no! The bonding mark had started to take effect. I could feel the complete and utter loneliness set in as I began to shake. “It doesn’t matter,” I said.

I needed to get out and before I knew it I was back on my bike rushing back to the pack house. Oh God what have I done?
