Scarlett.

At the movies, the snack bar line was so full that the boys offered to stay behind and get the snacks, while Nina and I went into the movie to get our seats. Once we found the right room for the movie, we enter and search for four available seats. The lights are already off as the trailer commercials start playing, making it a little difficult to see. Glancing around, we see an empty row in the middle and make our way to claim our seats.

"Hey, is that who I think it is?" Nina whispers and nods her head to the row in front of us.

"No... or least I hope not."

My hopes are shut down when I hear the obnoxious cackle come from Phoebe and her two minions.

"She knew we would be here because it was the plan when Dean was still with her." Nina points out.

I roll my eyes at the annoying blonde sitting in front of me.

"There you guys are. Baby watch your legs so I can sit by you." Caleb says.

Nina lowers her legs from resting up on the chair in front of her. Caleb sits next to Nina, and Dean sits on the end seat, placing me right in the middle of him and Nina.

"I got you a soda and, it was the red sour punch straws right?" Deans asks me, his voice carrying over to the seat in front.

Phoebe turns her head to look back at us and gasps. "Oh great. Look who is here girls." Her minions turn around to look at us and then giggle turning back around.

I swear, they are the typical mean girls that are in all the movies. Unfortunately, every school had them. Miss Phoebe Tillman was sure to fit the Queen B (itch) role.

"You know, you can sit by me baby." Phoebe says in a seducing tone, smirking at Dean.

Dean grunts and opens his mouth about to say something, but I interrupt him by grabbing a hold of his hand and grinning at Phoebe. "No, he is fine right here. With me."

Dean smiles and kisses my cheek. "If you want to move, we can." He whispers in my ear.

I hear Phoebe humph as she crosses her arms and looks away. It reminded me of when a child gets told no that they can't play and then throws a fit.

"No it is okay. Here is fine." I say honestly. She isn't going to win this one.

About fifteen minutes into the movie, Nina's teeth begin to chatter. I look at her with a smug smile. She rolls her eyes at me before saying, "Alright, alright. I am flipping cold. I admit it. No need to say I told you so." As she brings her feet up on the seat and wraps her arms around her legs, I lean over my seat and look at Caleb with a smirk.

We both chuckle as he gives Nina his sweater and she puts it on in a quick motion. Still grinning at her, I whisper, "Told you." She sticks her tongue out at me and I giggle.

The movie isn't all that great, as it wasn't too scary. The trailer for the movie definitely made it seem better than it actually was. I can hear my dad now, talking down on this film. What a low budget piece of crap. We could have spent my hard earned money on a better movie. He never really cared for the movies like my mother and I do. Did. He liked being in the comfort of his own home and the brown leather recliner that we had in the living room, to watch movies. But he came with us every year for my birthday, regardless of his opinion about the theaters. There was also popcorn, of course.

"Well, that wasn't too bad." Caleb says as he stretches his arm, yawning.

"Yeah babe, I can tell you really liked the movie." Nina says sarcastically.

We walk out of the movies once the credits appear on the screen. Phoebe and her minions ahead of us, fast pacing out of the doors.

Dean opens the door, and lets Caleb and Nina crawl into the back seat and then adjusts the seat back so that I may sit in the front.

"Mind if I drop off Scarlett last?" Deans asks Caleb and Nina. Looking at them in the rearview mirror.

"Not at all." Nina says at the same time Caleb says, "Nope, just drop Nina and I off at my pad please."

Nina and I talk about the movie during the drive to Caleb's house. Joking about the poor computer-generated imagery (CGI) that was used.

"Least the main guy was hot."

Caleb clears his throat as if to say excuse me? Nina catches on. "But not as hot as you baby," reassuring him. They are too dang cute.

"Thanks guys again for everything today." I give Nina and Caleb both a hug.

"You're welcome. Happy Birthday again." Caleb says.

"Happy Birthday love." Nina says and then gives me another hug. "I will see you tomorrow. And I want details." She wiggles her eyebrows and nods to Dean whom is talking to Caleb.

I walk to the passenger side of Dean's jeep and am about to open it, before Dean swoops in and opens it for me, again. Such a gentleman. I think to myself. I recall our conversation about me calling Batman a gentleman and laugh. I hop in the jeep and reach over the center console, pulling the handle and pushing the door open for Dean.

Dean looks astonished, as if I just did something magical. I can't help but giggle at his face.

"Was I not supposed to do that?"

Dean laughs as he puts he turns the ignition key and drives off.

"I just think it is funny is all." I look at him with face that says, go on. He pushes back his hair, bringing his hand to the back of his neck, rubbing it and exhales. "My grandpa, who was married with my grams for about fifty years before she passed, used to always say, if you find a girl that opens your car door for you, you marry her."

My cheeks begin to burn and my pulse is racing. At a loss for words, I begin to laugh but then choke and cough, revealing how completely embarrassed I am.

"Sorry, I wasn't trying to scare you. I shouldn't have said that." He laughs. Clearly embarrassed himself. "I just thought it was funny and remembered what he had said..."

"Dean! It's fine. It is kind of cute actually. So I am guessing that is what your grandma did for him then huh?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

He nods and turns on the radio. "May I?" I ask him. Gesturing to change the station. He nods again as I press the touch screen to find the country station.

The song Forever by Rascal Flatts fills the car as I turn the volume up slightly. "I love this band." I exclaim as I start to sing along to the song.

Dean smiles at me and glances over his shoulder in amusement. "I know. I remember working with you for the first time and you were singing every word to Bless the Broken Road. Which by the way, you have a really nice voice." He lies. I can't carry a tune to save my life.

When the song is ending, we pull up to my house and Dean lowers the volume on the radio to wish me a good night.

"Well, I had a great time. Thanks again for tonight. I guess I will see you tomorrow, right?" I ask shyly.

Dean shifts in his seat so that he is now facing me. "You're welcome, it was my pleasure. I am just glad you had a good time. I know I did. Best birthday I have had in a while." I look out the window to look at the house. I would say the same but I would be lying, because my parents were not a part of this birthday. Those were the best ones. "And yes you will see me tomorrow, as long as you don't mind being my date." His deep voice was laced with uncertainty.

I look away from the window, bringing my attention back to the now glistening blue eyes that are focused on me. I don't understand how this god-like of a human being is so hard on himself. He can have basically any girl that he would want at school, and yet here he is, worried that I may not truly want to be accompanied to a dance by him. I mean...do I look stupid? Why wouldn't I want to go with him?

Rather than replying, I lean over the console and place my hand on the back of his neck. Pulling his face closer to mine so that I can kiss him. Unfortunately, when I pulled him in, my head must have bobbed when his weaved, because our foreheads crash onto one another.

"Ow." We say simultaneously while rubbing our foreheads.

"I am sorry. I am not good at this." I giggle. "I am very subtle aren't I?" I ask sarcastically, while rolling my eyes. I look away embarrassed, trying to hide my bright red face.

I reach for the handle ready to escape from this jeep, before I feel Dean grab my wrist and pull me back. This time he leans over the console and places his hand on my cheek, gently pressing his lips to mine. I melt and then begin to kiss him back. Relief filling my thoughts as my embarrassing moment is recovered. His lips pull away from mine too quickly. I want more. He then presses his forehead to mine and we stare into each other's eyes. Our breathing ragged and my adrenaline going AWOL. My goosebumps arose all over my body and I silently thank myself for wearing my jacket and jeans to cover the evidence of my excitement.

I stare at his eyes for another moment, wishing I knew what he was thinking. Without even thinking, I rub his nose with mine again and he grins.

"I love when you do that."

"You...you do?" I feel relieved because I wasn't sure if he did or not.

"Yeah. I don't know why. I just think it's adorable." He giggles and then repeats the gesture to me.

"Little Eskimo kisses."

"No...we should call it penguin kisses. You know that's how they kiss too right? I figured you would, since they are your favorite."

I gasp. "How did you know that?" I never told him about my love for the little fat men in tuxedos.

Dean just smiles at me mischievously and shrugs his shoulders. "I have my ways." He says nonchalantly.

"Stalker." I joke.

He laughs. "Dex told me. He showed me your guy's little math project and I asked why a penguin and he said that you chose it because they were your favorite."

My stomach flutters and I can't hide the ridiculous smile that plasters my face. I gently rub my nose to his again and rub it. "Penguin kisses it is then."
