Pansy was insisting that I try both the dress and boots on at the same time so she could see it, and decide what my hair and makeup should be.
"Well, as for the hair, just a simple braid will work. For makeup-" She was cut off by a new voice.
"Sparkle, if I find out that you ever wear makeup like you did for the Yule Ball, I will personally strangle you!" Of coure it was Fred.
"Fred! What are you doing here? And where's George?" I asked.
"George and I are checking out buildings again, and he is in Honeydukes. I will not let you wear makeup to this dance." Fred explained.
"I looked like a messed up clown last time I wore makeup." I giggled.
For a while, we talked, and eventually, George joined us.
Then I looked at the time.
"Oh no! I was supposed to tutor Malfoy twenty minutes ago!" I exclaimed, leaving quickly.
When I got to the library, Malfoy was sitting at the table we normally used, staring at the door.
"I'm sorry I'm late, but Pansy made me go shopping."
"It's fine." he said, showing me his homework.
"That's actually really good."
For the next hour, he practiced the different spells as I worked on my homework.
We then went back to the common room, and Pansy was already there waiting for us.
Malfoy seemed to remember something.
"Pansy, by the way, a letter from Blaise for you came. Tried to eat my hand when I took it off the owl. He must've put a spell on it to where only you could open it." Malfoy told her.
"Ok, well since he went through the trouble to put the spell on it, I'll read it upstairs." Pansy said.
It was just Malfoy and I in the common room, and he kept staring at me.
"Was there something you needed, Malfoy?" I asked.
"Yeah, will you ckme to the dance with me? As friends?" he questioned.
"Fine, but just friends."
"Ok."
"Good night."
"Good night Sparkle."
The next day, everyone came back, and Potter stopped me in the hallway.
"Hey Sparkle! Will you come to the dance with me?" he asked.
"I'm sorry, but I am already going with someone, and it's actually someone I want to go with."
"Oh... ok."
The day of the dance finally came.
I was in my room getting ready when Pansy came in, carrying a coat for me to wear over my dress.
I put a spell on my Dark Mark, and it turned my skin really red, but I ignored it.
We then went out into the common room where Malfoy and Blaise were waiting.
Pansy greatfully accepted Blaise's hand, and Malfoy knew better than to try to touch me.
We walked down to the Entrance Hall, and I let Malfoy help me with the jacket.
"What happened to your arm?" he asked, running his hand down my arm where it was red.
"Um... Don't worry about it."
"Whatever."
We went in, and I sat down somewhere alone.
Then Michael Corner sat beside me.
"Excuse me, but that is my date, and we were just about to dance before you came over here." It was Malfoy.
He helped me up, and led me to the middle of the dance floor as people began to stare.
"Thank you." I told him.
"You're welcome. I never liked Corner anyway."
We were silent, and eventually I laid my head on his chest.
"What happened to just friends?" he grinned.
"I don't know, and right now, I don't care whatsoever."
Harry was looking at me like I was high, and everyone was staring.
"There's too many people here staring at us, and father is watching us."
"Then let's go for a walk to the Astronomy Tower."
"Ok."
We left, and my hand was in his for the entire walk. When we got to the tower, we sat to where we could see the mountains and forest that were sitll coverd in snow.
He had an arm around me, and my head was on his shoulder.
"How long do you want to stay here, Sparkle?" he asked softly, sending chills up my spine.
"Forever would be nice."
"I will agree with that, but people will get suspicious if we don't head back soon."
"Oh.... fine."
"Before we go, since the rumors going around are that we are dating, can we make them true?"
"That's the strangest way I've heard it phrased, but yes, I will be your girlfriend."
