Bonus Ending

Years passed by, and life in Eos had returned to normal. People had begun rebuilding their cities and towns, and the natural wildlife flourished once more without the threat of daemons. Insomnia was starting to thrive as it did in the past, and it was now the home of Angelica and Ignis. The now happily married couple had a house of their own on the outskirts of the city.

Ignis was in the kitchen, fixing lunch, while Angelica occupied her son in the living room. The four-year-old boy was playing with building blocks on the floor, his mother watching him closely from her seat on the couch. The child had short, dark red hair, green eyes, and light freckles across his nose.

"Look, Mommy!" the boy said, grinning excitedly at his miniature monument.

Angelica smiled, rubbing a hand over her swollen middle. "Wow, that's a great castle you made, Rubeus."

"Lunch is ready." They both turned their heads to see Ignis entering the room with a plate of sandwiches. He went over and took a seat next to his wife, placing the plate on the coffee table in front of him. "I put together a variety for whatever your tastebuds desire."

"Thank you, love," The woman replied, pecking his lips. Rubeus quickly scrambled over to the plate. Before he could take a sandwich, Angelica stopped him. "Rubeus, you know the rules. We always wash our hands after playing."

The child whined in protest. Ignis stood with an amused chuckle, scooped up the boy, and took him to the bathroom. Angelica picked out several different sandwiches to satisfy her cravings. She left the single peanut butter and jelly for her son, knowing it was his favorite. She had already wolfed down a whole sandwich by the time her husband and her son returned. Together, they cleaned the plate.

Soon after they finished lunch, the doorbell rang. With Ignis in the kitchen cleaning up, Angelica answered it. She was met by Prompto's smiling face as soon as she opened the door.

Prompto, good to see you!" she greeted, giving him a quick hug.

"You too, Angel!" he replied with a grin.

"Uncle Prompto!" Rubeus cried, rushing over to the blond at the door.

"Rubeus!" The man crouched, catching the kid in a hug. "How's it goin', little buddy?"

"Great!" he responded, beaming brightly. "I learned how to set the table for dinner just the way Daddy likes it!"

"Whoa! That's awesome!"

Prompto picked up the child and stepped inside. Having heard the commotion, Ignis went back to the living room. "Iggy!" Prompto approached him and gave him a pat on the arm. "Haven't seen you since your restaurant's been closed."

Ignis smiled lightly. "Yes, well, with Rubeus running around and Angel expecting soon, I had to close up for a bit."

While Ignis had in fact opened up his own restaurant like his friends had always suggested, Prompto had chased his dream and became a professional photographer. Gladiolus on the other hand, didn't return to Insomnia, and instead stuck to hunting and keeping the peace with the remaining hunters in Lucis.

"Gladio didn't wanna come?" Angelica questioned.

Prompto shook his head. "Nah, his wife just had her baby. So he's stuck at home right now."

"Ah, yes, she was expecting her first child," Ignis said.

"Hear that, Rubeus?" Angelica said to the child still in Prompto's arm. "Maybe once your sibling is born, we can all go out and visit Uncle Gladio." The boy cheered. Angelica then looked to Prompto, a teasing grin on her lips. "And you, Prompto? I sure hope you've found a girlfriend by now."

"As a matter of fact, I have," he replied. "She writes articles for the magazines that I take photos for. I would've brought her along, but she's been super busy with her newest column."

The group talked and Prompto played little games with Rubeus. After spending the day catching up, Prompto headed back home. The family ate supper, and Angelica gave her son a bath before tucking him into bed. She then found herself in her room with her husband. Settled into bed, she stared over at the dagger in the display case on the dresser. It was her mother's. She'd kept it as a reminder of her and the assassins, which were all but gone now.

"Angel, darling, something wrong?"

She turned on her other side to face the blind man laying beside her. He had been running his hand over her stomach, feeling movement from the baby within. But he noticed that his wife hadn't said a word or even moved in response. She had been lost in thought and hadn't realized a thing.

"No..." she answered. "I just wish my mom could've been here to see her grandchildren. She would've loved Rubeus."

"Indeed she would've."

"I also wish..." She placed a hand against the side of his face, tracing her thumb over the scar around his left eye. "You're sight had returned."

Ignis smiled softly. With them both laying on their sides, facing each other, he brought his free hand up, running it through her hair. "I do too. But we can't change what's been done. I've learned to use my other senses to replace my eyes."

Angelica smiled sadly. "I know you have."

"Besides, I don't need sight to know that I love you, or Rubeus, or our next little one. In all honesty, I'm happy to simply be here with you." He moved his arms to hold her. "Your warmth is the last thing I feel before I fall asleep, and the first thing I feel when I wake up in the morning. As long as I have you, I'm content."

His words touched her heart. She leaned closer, pushing her lips to his. He returned her kiss without hesitation. After pulling apart, the woman snuggled against him. He pecked her head and held her close.

"I love you, Ignis," she mumbled into his chest.

"And I love you, Angelica," he softly replied.

All the sacrifices that were made in the past were worth it in the end. Life in Eos moved on. But the ones who were responsible for it all would never be forgotten. Noctis, Lunafreya, Regis, even Valerie would be remembered, and their stories passed down through the generations. And though Angelica had left behind her assassin heritage, she would make sure the assassins didn't fade into obscurity. She would pass down her knowledge to her children in hopes that their history would never be forgotten in time. But at the moment, she was simply happy to be with her family.
