Sora
Yoon Sora let out a sigh of relief as she steps back to admire their finished project. "We did it, guys! We actually did it!"
Her group members, Jung Min-soo and Kim Hye-ji, cheers and high-five each other, grinning from ear to ear. They had been working under the sun since dawn to finish their art installation, and it has paid off.
"I'm so glad we decided to go with the recycled materials theme," Hye-ji said, surveying their handiwork. "It really adds an extra layer of meaning to the piece."
Min-soo nods, snapping photos of the installation with his phone. "And it's not just about the environment– it's also about repurposing and reusing. I love it."
Sora smiles, feeling proud of what they had accomplished. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?"
“Hey, how about we celebrate it with drinks? I'm pretty sure we will get an A plus with this project!” Hye-ji suggests, clapping her hands with an excited smile.
“I'm down for it, especially with our complete project. We deserve those drinks!” Sora throws her hands up to show her approval. “Honestly, I thought I would have to do all the work when professor Han assigned us as a group. I'm glad we all were able to finish this together!”
“I thought the same.” They all chuckle together before Hye-ji shifts her attention to Min-soo.
“Yah, are you up for drinks?” She gives an irritating swat on his thigh causing him to yelp.
“When? I have a date with my girlfriend tomorrow so I can't come.” He said before tapping something on his phone. Probably sharing their group project with his friends.
“How about on Saturday? I don't have any classes that day.” Hye-ji said before grabbing her phone to click photos of group project.
“I'm okay with it, what about you Min-soo?” Sora asks him, watching Hye-ji click pictures.
“I think this might be my only group project that was ever done and with everyone's help.” Hye-ji comments while continuing her photoshoot, Min-soo glances at her before responding back.
“I'll let you guys know in our group chat, I'll get going now. My girlfriend is calling me.” He announces before chucking his backpack over his shoulders. “Bye guys! Good job by the way!”
The group chat will be dead as soon as this project is finished anyways.
“Well, I guess that leaves the two of us now.” Hye-ji giggles before grabbing her own backpack. “I'll be going too. If we are lucky enough to win the first position with A plus, we will get the chance to go Seoul!”
“Wishing on my lucky star Hye-ji, Professor Han doesn't give prize for nothing. If he said it, he means it.” Sora assures her.
As they pack up their tools along the way to the main door and said their goodbyes, Sora couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. It has been a long day, but it has been worth it.
Taking a deep breath, she decides to check on her social media. The public one with no one knowing the real her, obviously.
Sora always has been a romantic fool for reading books, ever since she accidentally read few lines of ‘It ends with us’ when she was a teenager and so just randomly, she decided to write one online too. Unexpectedly, people started reading it and loved it. Encouraged by their positive responses, she has continued until it wasn't enough.
She finally confessed to her parents that she wanted to be a full time writer and wants to publish her own books.
Sora never felt so nervous before as they went through her account and read her works. She was surprised when they easily agreed to pursue Art stream without much fuss. She thought that it would be a war of snatching wigs and throwing utensils like confetti.
She has published four books in the past five years and they are still sailing. Her online books, which are six in total, are adored very much by many around the globe. Some of her devoted fans want her to show her face but it isn't that Sora is insecure about her looks.
In fact when she first opened her account, she never thought she would write her own books one day and so the thought of revealing her face never crossed her mind. Well, for the starting year. Because as her books became known, the demands for face reveal grew.
She don't feel comfortable showing her face to such a large audience, and thus hasn't revealed her face yet. Despite this, her readers love her and because of her positive responses to their comments, she earned herself a nickname from them.
Sol
Moreover, she has chosen a lame name Lighting before, instead of her real name for her books. Loving the nickname given by her fans, she has added it in place of her lame name.
Sora smiles, scrolling a few comments of her regular readers from a recent announcement she did.
“Solll!! You said you were working on a new book? I'm so excited^^”
“Sol may not be pregnant but she NEVER FAILS TO DILIVER 🔥😤”
“I hope it's not cliché like the Arrows of War. I love all your other works Sol, but AOW wasn't js it. I was truly disappointed when I finished it.”
Sora isn't fazed by this comment, besides this wasn't even a hate comment, just an opinion. Not everything is everyone's taste. It seems like a fan of her works but not of Arrows of War. Sora agrees too, it isn't her bestest book and she wouldn't even rank it in her top 9 books, so the least.
She has learnt to take hate and criticism along the journey of her becoming a full time writer. She recalls the time when she cried, curled up in her mother's lap after seeing multiple negative comments on AOW. She now could see why it was getting heavy criticism.
Still, she hasn't unpublished it because it has a lot of her teenager life when she was in last year of high school and it holds a lot of memories of her school life.
She has understood that embracing the good also meant acknowledging the bad.
As she continues to scroll and reply to a few of them, a comment caught her attention.
“Omg! What a lucky day! Taehyung came to VLIVE today and Sol announced her new book! I'm so happy!!💜🤩”
“Taehyung came live???” Sora exclaimed before checking her notifications just to see a notice of his live 2 hours ago, for 1 minutes.
“I was working that time. Why do I miss his every live?!?” Sighing, Sora clears the notification bar before glancing at her project that stands proudly at the corner of her living room.
Missing the solo artist's Live isn't uncommon for Sora, for she is always busy with college and her books. Social media always help in these situations.
“You better get the first prize, you stupid project.”
:-
I'm excited 👀
Tae in the next chapter! Promise!
