Chapter 18 Cecily
I mumbled as my eyes sight focused on a blurry light across the room. I rubbed my eyes. "Wha...what is..."
As my sleepiness shed I sat up and realized I was in my bed, previously fast sleep.
A familiar set of chords to a song made me think of a dangerous car trunk.
"What is...." I focused on the glowing light and gasped. Frantically I dashed across the room to the glowing phone.
"Hello? Hello?" I frantically spoke to whomever was on the opposite end.
"Yes, this is Cecily, ma'am I am a representative to a company called Shock Wave and we created and patented our own phone company and we are partnered to yours. I have called you on this fine morning to see..."
I looked toward the pitch-black darkness outside my window and turned back to the phone.
"...so, would you like to sign up to our services? If so, please give all of your credit card and social security information along with-."
"Cecily?" I whispered feeling my heartbeat go up. "You are the first person I've managed to get in contact with on the outside. What-What state are you in? What state is the company in?"
"Ma'am we work in the state of Nevada."
"Please! Please help me! I've been sent away to this school that isn't really a school. I've been kidnapped and there's no way I can leave. Please Cecily, help me. My name is Kassina Reynoso. Okay Cecily? I lived in Palm Dale, California. My adopted guardian's name is Avine. I have no idea of where I'm at. I-It's just so dark here and-and I can't leave!"
The other end was silent except for the slight tapping of keys.
"This isn't funny," Cecily growled into the phone. "I understand company phone calls aren't enjoyable, but don't make light of kidnapping-."
"Please! I can't call anyone! You are the first person that I could speak to in weeks! Please just save me Cecily. I have...no idea of where I am, and my phone's battery is close to death."
"Stop-."
"No! There aren't any outlets here and I have no idea if I'll die here or not? Some weird stuff's been going on and, Cecily! Please say something. This isn't a joke! Please Cecily."
Cecily's keyboard kept clicking away while she was in silence. "Your name is Kassina Reynoso, right?"
"Yes, yes! I lived in a house at the corner of Locus and Cooper in part called Daphne in Palm Dale. Cecily, you're getting this right?"
"Yes," she whispered in slight fear.
"Okay, I was supposed to be sent to this normal school somewhere in the Beverly Hills area, but I am not there at all! There was this promoter of the school, her name was Ava Margot? Please..."
"Listen Kassina, I'm going to patch you in with the 911-line okay? I've already filled them in, but they need details."
As soon as Cecily went quiet the line shut off and I stared at my phone in saddened shock as, in the corner of the touch screen, it said No Service.
But...I managed to signal help. Take that Mayorette!
