NO ONE'S POV:

(Y/N is in his wheelchair being pushed by Helena.)

(Y/N): I mean, I'm not embarrassed by stumps or anything.

Helena: Then what is it? Don't like your girlfriend pushing your wheelchair?

(Y/N): No, I love that. It's just, I don't know if now's the right time for people to know that in actuality I'm in a wheelchair.

Helena: They're going to find out eventually.

(Y/N): I know that. [sighs]

(She stops pushing, walks around, & kneels down to Y/N.)

Helena: I get it. I do. You're more comfortable walking.

(Y/N): Yeah, obviously. It's nice having legs.

Helena: I think it would be better if you were yourself today. Plus, I prefer the real you.

(Y/N): You prefer me in a wheelchair?

Helena: Flash.

(Y/N): I know what you meant. Sorry, I'm not good at these things.

(She kisses him.)

Helena: Who is?

(Heroes from both sides are present for Oliver Queen's funeral. As the funeral reaches its end & people start to leave, Y/N rolls over to Dinah.)

(Y/N): Dinah?

(She turns and looks down at him.)

Dinah: Flash? What happened to your legs?

(Y/N): I thought Helena told you? I assumed she told you. Story for another time. I just wanted to tell you that even though we don't know each other that well, I'm here for you if you need me.

(She hugs him & he hugs her back.)

Dinah: Thank you.

(She lets go of him.)

Dinah: She did tell me just how sweet you are.

(Y/N): Did she now?

(Helena appears behind him & grabs the wheelchair handles.)

Helena: I think it's time we go.

(Y/N): All right.

Helena: See you later, Dinah.

Dinah: Yeah.

(Cut to Helena pushing Y/N to her car.)

(Y/N): So you haven't told her that I'm in a wheelchair?

Helena: I was going to but considering what's been going on recently...

(Y/N): I understand.

Helena: Don't worry, there are other things I've told her about you.

(Y/N): *smiles* Like how sweet I am?

Helena: Among other things.

(Cut back to Hal & Dinah.)

Hal: Dinah.

Dinah: Are you still standing with Superman after this?

Hal: I am. The world is better. He didn't mean to--

(She turns her back to him.)

Dinah: There's nothing more to say, Hal.

(Hal leaves as Clark flies in.)

Superman: Can we talk? I'm sorry. I...It was an accident. I never meant to hurt him. Please. Say something.

Dinah: You want me to say something?

(He covers her mouth & once she stops, he lets her go.)

Dinah: That's it, Clark. Let's see the real you. Show me the last thing Ollie saw before you killed him. You fooled me, like everyone else. I believed that you were like us. I thought you were human. But you're not. You don't see the world like we do. You see humanity as something you need to protect--something fragile. We are not fragile. We will tear you down.

Superman: I would watch your words, Dinah.

Dinah: Look at me. Look closely.

(He looks closely.)

Superman: You're pregnant.

Dinah: Yes. I'm fighting for two now.

(Meanwhile in space, Kyle Rayner races towards home. Back on Earth, Superman asks Jim Gordon if he knows where Batman is, informs him that he has a number of large masses on his lungs, & that the cancer is quite extensive. Cut to Bruce in a bed with Alfred standing beside him where Bruce is met by Zatanna. She tells him that they're in the Tower of Doctor Fate. Back in space, Rayner's ambushed by Sinestro & some of his corps. Rayner & Sinestro have a brief conversation that ends with...)

(Cut to Oa where Ganthet is concerned over the powershift caused by Superman & Hal Jordan's involvement. He convinces the other Guardians that the situation on Earth warrants a closer look. He's going to accompany Guy Gardner to Earth after telling him that Kyle Rayner is missing & it may be related to the situation on Earth. Hal & Barry are on their way to the Capitol Building to stop Congress from shutting the U.S. government. Diana is still in a coma after Atom's explosion.)

(Back at the Tower of Fate, Bruce gets a phone call which gets diverted. To where?)

President: Where's Batman?

Oracle: I'm afraid Batman is unavailable.

President: Is he alive? What happened?

Oracle: Superman happened. Batman's alive but he can't help you. We can.

(Dinah appears behind her.)

President: I'm sorry but I can't put faith in a faceless voice.

Oracle: I understand, but know that we are working with Batman. We want the same thing you do. We want this world returned to its people. We want Superman's regime torn down--

Oracle: Tell us what's happening.

President: It's Congress. Superman's people have taken Congress. Agent Venom is in route.

(Cut to Y/N swinging his way to the Capitol.)

Delirium: Are you nervous?

Agent Venom: I'm always nervous on a mission. You know this.

Delirium: I do. But, you seem more nervous than usual.

Agent Venom: [sighs] I usually go on these kinds of missions with Captain Atom. It feels weird without him watching my back.

Delirium: I'm always watching your back.

Agent Venom: You know what I mean, D.

Delirium: I do. Perhaps you and Helena could team up on this one?

Agent Venom: That may be the best thing you've ever suggested to me.

(He calls Helena.)

Huntress: Hey, Flash.

Agent Venom: Hey yourself. Quick question, how close are you to the Capitol?

Huntress: Why?

Agent Venom: Well, I was wondering--

Delirium: Hoping.

Agent Venom: Shut up. Was wondering if you'd like to team up on a mission with me.

Huntress: I'm afraid I'm gonna have to raincheck on that.

Agent Venom: Right. I forgot. You're with your girlfriends right now.

Huntress: You sound jealous. (Y/N) "Flash" Thompson, are you jealous?

Agent Venom: No.

Delirium: Yes.

Huntress: Delirium said "yes," didn't he?

Agent Venom: I'll call you later.

(He hangs up.)

Agent Venom: I love how you and Helena are getting along but never join forces with her to double team, okay?

Delirium: No promises.

(Green Lantern tells Congress to advert the shutdown. While Sinestro warns Superman that the Green Lanterns are coming for him. Cut to Green Lantern & Flash leaving the Capitol where they're met by the military, some policemen, & Agent Venom.)

Policemen: Green Lantern and Flash. Stand down.

Military Officer: Stand down.

Agent Venom: Or don't. Please don't.

Green Lantern: Ah, the para-

(Y/N shoots a web onto Hal's mouth.)

Agent Venom: I'm gonna stop ya right there.

Green Lantern: *rips the webs off his mouth* Now, I really don't like you.

(Guy Gardner & Ganthet appear above them.)

Guy: I'm not going to lie--I'm kind of impressed that you've clearly pissed off an entire country without me.

(Y/N looks at Hal then at Guy & then back at Hal.)

Agent Venom: His Green Lantern uniform is way better than yours.

Guy: I like this guy.

Ganthet: Hal Jordan?

Green Lantern: Ganthet?

Ganthet: Take me to Superman.

(Ganthet tries to convince Superman to stop what he's doing but doesn't go well. Especially when Superman brings up his home planet of Krypton.)

(Ganthet leaves with Guy & a hesitant Hal. Green Lanterns are called back to Oa, most notably Kilowog & John Stewart. Superman's enhanced security force enters Gotham but Jim Gordon isn't going to take it lying down. He looks up at a security camera.)

Gordon: It's your Dad. Let me in.

(Cut to Barbara's hideout where she's watching her father on a screen.)

Black Canary: I thought this was a secure location. How did he find you?

Gordon: I know you're here, Barbara. I know everything.

Huntress: Before you let him in, can he bring someone here?

Barbara: Who?

(At Ferris Aircraft, Hal & Carol "break up" for the fifth time. Hal leaves with Ganthet who informs him that Guy Gardner will stand in his place as the Earth's Green Lantern.)

Guy: Sure. That'll make Hal Jordan more comfortable. Off you go. I'll try not to break the planet while you're gone.

(Cut to Y/N looking through his apartment window.)

(Y/N): I love the rain. How about you, D?

Delirium: I have no opinion on rain.

(Y/N): Really?

Delirium: Weather is weather.

(Y/N): Aren't you full of surprises?

(There's a knock at his door so he rolls himself to the door & answers it.)

(Y/N): Jim Gordon?

Gordon: (Y/N) Thompson?

(Y/N): Yes?

Gordon: Come with me.

(Y/N): Why? Am I under arrest?

Gordon: [sighs] I don't have time for this.

(Y/N): I'll take that as a no.

Gordon: I'm just trying to see my daughter but before she lets me in her hideout, I have to bring you with me.

(Y/N): Hideout? I don't know who your daughter is so I find it strange that she would want you to bring me to her hideout.

Gordon: Well, I'm not bringing you with me for her.

(Y/N): Then for who?

Gordon: Huntress.

(Y/N): Oh! Why didn't you say that to begin with? Lead the way.

Gordon: Okay then.

(Cut to them on an elevator going down towards Barbara's hideout. Y/N offers his hand to Gordon for a handshake which he accepts.)

(Y/N): Thought I'd give you a proper introduction. Corporal (Y/N) Thompson. Friends call me Flash.

Gordon: We're not there yet.

(Y/N): Of course. Just letting you know.

(The elevator stops, they walk out, & see Barbara in front of them.)

Barbara: Nice to finally meet you, (Y/N). Barbara Gordon. Huntress has told me a lot about you.

(Y/N): All good I hope. [chuckles]

Barbara: Mostly. She didn't tell me that we have the same taste in wheelchairs.

(He looks down at his wheelchair & realizes it's the same as his.)

(Y/N): Would you look at that?

Gordon: Where is he?

Barbara: Who?

Gordon: Batman.

Barbara: I don't know what you're--

Gordon: Stop it! I've spent years playing my part. Letting you and Bruce Wayne do what you felt you needed to do. But I'm done pretending. I know about Batgirl. I always knew who Bruce was.

Barbara: How long have you known?

Gordon: I've known since the first night you put on that costume and snuck out of your bedroom window with Dick Grayson.

Barbara: How?

Gordon: How? I'm a detective! Now, where's Batman?

Barbara: He's...well, it's hard to explain. And it won't help you to know.

Gordon: How about you let me be the judge of that for once?

Barbara: His back is broken. And he's healing in a floating tower hanging outside of space and time, protected by magic users.

Gordon: Okay. You were right. That's no help at all.

(Y/N): I didn't even know that.

Gordon: And no offense to you Corporal but why exactly are you here? No offense Corporal but I'm not seeing how you fit into all of this.

(Y/N): How about I show you?

(Delirium covers Y/N as he stands up from his wheelchair. Now fully in his Agent Venom uniform.)

(Y/N): Agent Venom. At your service.

Gordon: I like the name.

Barbara: Why are you here? Why now?

Gordon: Because Superman just marched his enhanced goons into my city and told my police to get out of his way. And...

Barbara: And?

Gordon: And, I didn't want to tell you like this...I have cancer. I...I'm dying.

Gordon: I'm sorry.

Barbara: Dad...

Gordon: Superman is going to be a monster--I can see it. And I won't be here to protect this city and you.

Barbara: It's okay. We have a plan. We think we can stop him.

Gordon: We...?

Agent Venom: Am I included in this "we?"

Barbara: Yes.

(She presses a button on her wheelchair armrest that opens a door behind her.)

Barbara: Dad--

Huntress: Hey, Flash. Miss me?

Agent Venom: Clearly.
