🌓 Ep.15: The Deep End 🌓

~~~~~~~~~Dipper's POV~~~~~~~~~
"Watch out, Gravity Falls, because at 110 degrees we're looking at the hottest day of the summer!!" Toby Determined's voice was heard from the tv, all of us laying around the living room suffering from the heat.
"All in favor of doing nothing all day say 'Ugh..'"
"Ugh..!!" everyone else groaned after me.
Waddles walked over to Stan, who glares at him, "I'm gonna throw this pig out of the house!" The pig instead just licked his cheek, and Stan relaxed back down, "You called my bluff, pig."
(y/n) raised a hand, his fingers close together in a sign of 'small amount', "I am this close to getting naked right now.."
"Ooh, I'm sure Dipper would l-" I quickly covered Mabel's mouth, my fave growing red.
Though I can't lie, that would be a very nice view....
"On the bright side, pun very much intended, it's opening week at the Gravity Falls pool!!"
Mabel sat up, a smile on her face, "Gravity Falls pool?!"
"Today?!" I added.
"Pun intended?!" Soos continued.
"Quick, to the car!!" Stan yelled before attempting to stand up, but due to his heavy amount of sweat, he was now stuck to the ground, "Hey kids, a little help here."
So Mabel and I got some spatulas and got to work, getting him out of the floor. Well, more like helping him stand while breaking the floor as he stood, because the wood was still stuck to his back as he left the shack, "Alright, off to the pool!"
Toby's voice was heard from the tv, "And remember to be on alert for random wildfires!"
"Wait, wha-? AHHH!!!"
We all stared for a few seconds before (y/n) broke the ice, "I'm sure he's fine."
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
"Ah, the pool!" Mabel began as we entered the area, "Sparkling oasis of summer enchantment!"
Stan wasn't too pleased though, "Yeah, nothing like sitting in a moist tub with strangers. It's like the bus but wet."
I looked around, my eyes soon landing on Soos's towel, "Why would a sun need to wear sunglasses?"
"It's best not to think about it," he replied.
I felt a light shove on my shoulder, making me turn to (y/n), "C'mon, don't let your nerd side ruin our fun."
My cheeks grew red, "I'm not a nerd, I-!"
"Woah woah woah!!! Stop the presses!!" Mabel yelled, pointing over at a guy in the pool with long brown hair, her eyes lovestruck, "Who's that..?!"
Soos had already started eating his chips, "Oh yeah, word says dude never leaves the pool! People say he's a mysterious loner."
Mabel stared at the guy for a while, then fanned her face with her hands, "Is it getting hot in here or is it just that guy..?!"
"It's the hottest day of the year, Mabel," I replied, "Besides, can't you go for one week without having a new crush on some random guy?"
"Uh-uh!" She gasped, "Look at his little mustache hairs!"
"Gotta give the girl credit, she heals from heartbreak fast," (y/n) commented, head tilted in wonder.
"You are clearly enamored," Soos placed a hand on her shoulder, "Go to him."
Which she did; she ran over any and all people in her path and knocked over a ton of beach balls and school supplies, but she did.
I could hear (y/n) chuckling in the back while Soos wiped away a tear, "So beautiful..!"
But I just rolled my eyes, "Eh, Mabel's all talk. Wanna know a secret? She's never even kissed a guy before. She always messes it up somehow."
(y/n) raised an eyebrow, "Have you?"
Crap, I didn't think he'd ask.
I felt myself grow red, "O-of course I have, many times, many- many kisses. From many people."
"Oh yes, very believable."
That's when the sound of a splash came up from behind, seeing Stan now covered in water.
"Hey, Mr. Pines!" I heard from a familiar voice, seeing Wendy up on the life guard chair a few feet away.
Stan was just as confused as I was, "Wendy? Where's the life guard?"
"I am the life guard. I make the rules, sucka!" Boosh!!" and she threw another water balloon at Stan, who coward away.
"AH, she's attacking me with water!!" he screamed before running away, the rest of us laughing.
I looked up at her, "Wow, you work here?"
"I found out lifeguards get free snack privileges! Plus I get the best seat in the house!"
"That's so cool, man!! I bet you get like, so much free time!"
"Mostly, yeah! Except today though, I got to spend the day doing tryouts. We're looking for a new assistant lifeguard."
"Assistant lifeguard?" I repeated to myself, looking over at (y/n) who was chatting with Soos.
Yes. It's perfect.
"Hey!" I quickly cleared my throat when my voice cracked, "Hey, what if I was assistant lifeguard?"
"That would be so much fun! You're totally in!!" She threw over a rescue Can which I managed to catch, then pointed behind herself, "You just have to check in with my boss first, Mr. Poolcheck."
"Y-your boss?" I looked over, seeing a pretty buff, tall, tanned, blonde man doing push-ups with both arms, then one, then one finger, before he glared daggers into me, sending a shudder down my spine.
Maybe this wasn't the best idea.
"Why are you holding lifeguard gear?" I jumped a bit as (y/n) spoke next to me.
I smiled, "Well, my dearest (y/n), you are now looking at the official assistant lifeguard!"
He raised an eyebrow, "Assistant lifeguard? Why would you-?" He then glanced up for a moment, and his expression fell a bit, "Oh."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just- good luck, okay?"
"Uh, yeah! Y-" I cleared my throat, "Are you like, impressed or anything?"
"A little actually. But then again, you are always saving people out of trouble, when you're not getting them into trouble."
"Thank y- Hey!!"
He let out a giggle, then with a wave, he began to walk away, "Good luck on the job!"
I was so gonna impress him!
~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~

Only five minutes in and Dipper went to hang out with Wendy, Mabel went to chase after a new boy, and Stan went to claim a super special chair while dragging Soos along. Needless to say, I wasn't really having a good time.

The first maybe half hour, I kinda just walked around, talked to anyone I saw, asked about their lives since work had been taking a lot of my time lately. Then I swam for a little while, to kill time, that is why we came here after all, and then I got myself a snack.

Only two hours had passed during all that, and then I just sat by the edge of the pool staring into the water. I didn't want to leave, the Pines family didn't have to let me join, but I did kinda expect that we'd do something together.

Maybe I don't fully understand the concept of family yet..

"Jeez, and here I thought I was going to make things more depressing!"

Huh?

I felt my skin grow pale as I looked up, seeing nobody else in the pool ground, and everything around me had been stripped of color, all nothing but shades of gray.

"What the hell..?!"

"Wrong place, kid!" I jumped at the voice again, looking back at the pool to see that a triangle shape had been cut out from the water, an eyeball suddenly opening in the middle, "Though you're not that far from it yourself!"

"AH!!" I fell back, trying to crawl away without taking my eyes of that- that thing so it wouldn't get near me!

It was like the 2D drawing of a pyramid with one big eyeball in the middle, wearing a tiny top hat at its top corner and a bow under the eye, holding a small cane like some 1920s caricature.

It laughed, but the laugh came from behind me to I turned around out of instinct, seeing it now behind. I panicked, struggling to get enough hair in my lungs with every sharp breath I took, "But- but you were-?!"

"Relax, I'm not here to kill you yet!" It dipped his hat to me, "The name's Bill Cipher, pleased to meet you, kid! Here, have a welcomed gift!" The creature clapped its hands, causing me to flinch farther away from the pool when thousands of piranhas jumped out at me, causing me to scream.

But they were gone as soon as it snapped its fingers, and only his laughter boomed throughout the scene, "Classic!"

"Where am I?! What do you want with me?!"

"You're at the public pool, obviously, you chose to be here! And what I want with you? Well.." its eye widened to stare at me, "Let's just say I've been keeping an EYE on you for quite some time now, and I have to say, you've intrigued me! Your powers really are something!"

"M- my powers..? You know about my powers..?!"

"'Course I know, I know a lot of things, things you couldn't even began to comprehend!"

"Then tell me, please!" I found myself with tears in my eyes, begging this creature as if it were some form of a god with the answers I'd been searching for my whole life,"Tell me what they are, how to control them! Or- h-how to get rid of them if it's possible!! Please, I'll do anything, I just-! I don't want to continue hurting people!!"

The creature paused, its back (I think?) facing me, before all its bricks and eye turned to me, "Anything..?"

I froze, maybe I shouldn't have added that..

"But you did," I flinched as it zoomed to be only an inch away from my face, "Do you really mean that? You'd do anything to know about yourself?"

Would I..?

I didn't even know my own limits.. but..

I really don't want a repeat of that incident...

So with a serious face, doing my best to hide my fear, I stared back at the creature, "Yes, I would."

I think if the creature had a mouth, it'd be smirking at me, showing me that I had made a huge mistake, but it didn't matter to me at that moment..

"Alright, I like your determination!" it replied as it offered a hand, "How about a deal then? I don't need anything from you right now, so I'm not sure what to do with you, and therefore I won't reveal anything to you just yet. But, when I do have something for you, and you follow my request without any complaints, I'll tell you what you want to know, how does that sound?"

Like a scam.

But I didn't have any other choice, did I? Not even Dipper's journal had any information about me, what I could be.

I bawled my hand into a fist, digging my nails into my palm as I tried to stop it from shaking, and as the pounding sound of my heart desperately told me to stop, I shook the being's hand. Only one thing was clear to me at that moment.

I had just made a deal with the devil.

A harmless blue flame surrounded our meeting hands as the creature cackled in delight, pulling away as it fixed its bow, "It's been a pleasure, kid, I'll make sure to find you when business is ready to go! Make sure you don't forget this~!"

It grabbed its cane again, about to leave, when it suddenly paused, "Oh, and one last thing."

I looked up, seeing it an inch away from me once again, only this time, I saw my own reflection as it spoke, "If you tell anyone about this little deal, I'll be sure to hit you where it really hurts.." and a picture of Dipper replaced my reflection..

It then smiled with its eye, "Welp, catch you later!!", and a bright late filled my vision, causing me to close my eyes in order to not go blind.

And then.. I woke up. But not in the same position I originally was.

I was lying on the floor near the pool, with a few familiar faces looming over me, worry spread all over them, as well as a group of people surrounding the scene.

Dipper was the first to react, his eyes widening as he kneeled down beside me, "(y/n)!! Are you okay?!"

"Give him space, Dipper," Wendy replied, "He needs air."

Dipper backed away, face a little red in embarrassment as I sat up. I coughed, which hurt my lungs a little, and that's when I noticed that my whole body was soaked in water.

Had I fallen into the pool and started hallucinating? Was that all a dream? Was the deal not even real?!

Oh it's real alright!

I froze, that same voice..

Remember, if you tell anyone about this, I'll make you regret everything~!

I stared at my knees, fear growing in me once again as I felt my body trembling, and I wasn't sure whether that was the cold in me from being terrified, or the cold of the sheet of water over me.

"Crap, you're shaking!" I heard Dipper say before he rushed away, coming back and wrapping a towel around my shoulders, "Are you feeling okay?! Does anything hurt?! Do you need anything?! Is there-?!"

"Dipper, I'm okay!" I lied, obviously, but physically I felt fine besides the shaking, "I'm just cold is all.."

"Thank God you woke up on your own, otherwise I would've had to crack your ribs with CPR," Wendy replied after letting out a heavy sigh of relief.

"Thank you for getting me out, but.." I looked at Dipper, "What exactly happened..?"

"You mean you don't remember..?"

"Not exactly.."

He glanced at Wendy in worry, then back down at me, "Well, Wendy and I were throwing ba- er- d-doing our rounds when we saw you were sitting by the edge of the pool just.. staring into it with a blank expression.. and then, all of a sudden, you fell in, as if you were a rag doll..!"

"You woke up as soon as we pulled you out though, so we figured you just slipped randomly, but if you don't remember what happened, maybe you passed out, had a heat stroke?" Wendy asked as she tried to decipher what happened.

I guess I was in a state of hypnosis while that thing talked to me..

"Maybe.." I replied to end the conversation, "Thanks, guys, I owe you one.."

"Nonsense, it's our job!" Wendy smiled, then she froze and gagged, "Ew, what is happening to me."

I laughed at bit, forgetting my experience for just a moment as I stood up, Dipper holding onto my arm while I regained my balance. He then let me to a nearby beach chair, letting me sit down, "Do you need anything..? Some water, a snack..?"

"I'm okay, Dip.. just a little freaked out.."

"R-right, heh.."

"I guess you becoming a lifeguard today was fate, huh..?"

He chuckled, "Maybe.."

Sitting beside me, Dipper nibbled on his lip for a while; I could tell it all confused him, and he had many things running through his mind, until he turned to me, "You.. really don't remember anything..? Anything at all..?"

Sometimes I hated how smart he was, or maybe he just knew me that well..

"No, I don't.. After I sat down, it's all just a black.." Another lie, but I was used to it by this point, and I wasn't gonna risk Dipper's life over this..

"How about we head home..? You can take a shower, eat something, regain your energy.."

"That's okay, you have a job here now, I can go on my own.."

"Uh, no, I'm not letting you go alone in this state."

"Dipper, I can-"

He stood up, arms crossed as he glared at me, "No, no more of this 'I'm fine' role! You're in a bad state, so I'm gonna take care of you whether you like it or not because I l-!!" he paused, face growing red before he glanced away, "B-because that's what friends do!"

I could feel my face heating up at that, but I smiled, it was nice to have someone care for me, although it only made me feel that much more guilty, "Alright, how about we wait until your shift is over and I'll go home with you..?"

His cheeks were puffed as his glared softened, he was adorable even when mad, "Alright, fine, you stay here and rest! If I see you doing anything that's not sitting or lying down, I'm taking you home!"

"Ay ay, captain."

His face grew darker at that, a small grumble in his throat as he rushed back to Wendy.

Once I was alone, the gravity of what I had done began to sink in. The creature. The deal. The punishment. What if it asked me to hurt someone in return for how not to? What if he asked me to kill? And what will happen if I refuse? Will he take it lightly and just cancel the deal? Will be hurt Dipper? Or someone else?

Had I really been desperate enough to sell my soul to the devil..?

~~~~~~~~~Dipper's POV~~~~~~~~~
Hours later, when the sun was setting, I came out of the shower as I dried my hair with a towel, letting out a sigh. Today really didn't go how it expected, I wanted to impress (y/n), but I didn't think he'd actually need saving, I got so worried!
What freaked me out more was the state he was in before he fell, as if he was hypnotized by something, kinda like with the gremloblin a few days back..
I wonder what caused it..
When I entered my room, (y/n) was already asleep on my bed, which I honestly already predicted considering how tired he was earlier. Mabel had already left for something else, and Stan was downstairs watching tv, so it was my job to look after him.
Even if I have to stay awake all night..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I did my best to stay awake, though I did lose consciousness a few times for a short while. For the most part, (y/n) seemed okay, though he kept shivering even in the warmest conditions and murmuring things I couldn't understand.

Maybe he caught a cold? He didn't have a fever.

But I had to get to work, it was only my second day, after all. And I got this job cuz I wanted to impress him, after all, so I was gonna give it my all!

Unfortunately for me, Mr. Pool check was even angrier than usual since someone broke our only pool skimmer; he even cried a little. So he sent me on the night shift to make sure everything was taken care of.

I was really starting to regret this job.

But it's for (y/n)!

And so, late that night, just as I was assigned, I was doing my rounds around the pool to make sure nobody would break in and steal or ruin anything in here. But I mean, c'mon, no one has enough time in their hands to break into the pool, right?

thunk

I spoke too soon.

"Freeze!!" I yelled, pointing my flashlight at the fence to see none other than Stan cutting the fence, "Grunkle Stan?!"

"I, uh, I'm sleep walking! Also now I'm sleep talking," he pointed at me, "Nice hat, by the way."

"You! You're the one destroying pool supplies!"

"What? No! My crime is a lot better than that. I'm gonna get that seat and be ready in the morning when Gideon comes. Then maybe I'll destory some pool supplies. Night's still young."

Lord, why give me to this family.

I blew my whistle in alert, making Stan take a few steps back, "Yeesh, alright, I'm going!" He walked a little farther back, but then booked it past me and towards the pool, making me run after him.

This is so not what I imagined this job to be!

As I chased after Stan, a new sound emanated from the other side, so I put the Stan situation on hold incase this was the real perpetrator, "Hey, who's there?!" I yelled as I made my way over, seeing Mabel standing by a cooler, "Mabel?! Is there anyone not breaking into the pool tonight?! What, is Soos here too?!"

And that's when I heard a thud behind me, followed by Soos's voice saying, "I'm okay!"

"Go home, Soos."

"You got it!" and he grunted as he tried to get back up the fence.

Letting out a sigh, I looked back to Mabel, "So, why are you here?"

"Uh... no reason!" she replied, followed by someone clearing their throats from very close by.

I looked down, "Did that cooler just clear its throat....?"

Mabel smiled sheepishly, "Don't be silly, there isn't a merman in there if that's what you're implying! Who said anything about a merman?!"

"Mabel, I don't have time for your games! If you don't give me those supplies, I'll loose this job ever!"

She let out a heavy sigh, "I understand..." and then yelled as she pointed behind, "Hey look!! Shirtless (y/n)!!"

My face heated up, looking back, "Really?! At night?!"

"Sorry, Dipper!!" she yelled as she got in the golf cart and drove away, making me growl out of anger for her using my weaknesses against me!

This means war!!

Getting a bucket of water balloons, I got on the pool's security cart and drove after Mabel, yelling through the megaphone, "Hand over the pool supplies in the name of pool law!!"

"Pool law is dumb!!" she yelled back, "And so is your hat!!"

I began throwing the water balloons as an attempt to stop her, but she kept zigzagging to avoid them, turning right on her way to the Gravity Falls lake.

Once near said lake, the golf cart stopped, but I guess she hit the breaks so suddenly that the cart tipped over to the side, causing her to fall off and making me park before rushing over to check on her.

She dusted off her sweater, "I'm okay."

Letting out a small sigh of relief, I brought my glare back, "Alright, the jig is up!! Hand over that cooler!"

"Never!!" she clutched the cooler against her chest.

I was just very confused by this point, "Why not?! Why do you even need it?!"

She bit her lip, and in the next second, it all came out, "I needed the cooler to save my new friend because he needs to go home and he's really nice and we combed each other's hairs and he needs to be in the cooler because he breathes water because he's a merman!!"

And thus, when she opened the cooler, a boy with a fish tail for legs rolled out, waving awkwardly at me, "Hola."

My eyes widened, "Woah.. Way to burry the lead, Mabel.."

"Dipper, Mermando the merman, he's a merman."

"Nice to meet you. Also, I think I am dying." Instantly after that, he started choking on ... air, his face growing pale as he struggled to speak, "Water! ¡Agua! ¡Yo necesito!"

Mabel began to panic, "Oh no, Mermando!! Dipper, you're a lifeguard, give him CPR!!"

"Mermen don't breathe air!!"

"Then give him reverse CPR, doy!!"

So I did. I got a water bottle and, uh, passed the water from my mouth to his, which was very uncomfortable for me.

Mermando inhaled, then turned to me, "Thank you, but why didn't you just throw me into the lake?"

We all looked over to the lake, which was like five feet away from us, and I facepalmed so hard I really wanted to bury myself in the sand right then and there please death take me now.

So Mabel and I dragged him over to the edge and threw him into the lake, where he looked up at us and tried to, I guess call his family? But coughed instead, "I am weak from coughing! How will I get my family to hear my calls from the mighty depths of the ocean?"

"I've got it, brb!" Mabel ran to my cart, taking the megaphone and running back over, "Problem solves!!"

I snatched it back, "Mabel, those are pool supplies, I'll get fired!"

"Dipper, don't you know what's it's like to fall for someone even though you know in your heart that it'll probably never work out but you'd do anything for that person..?!"

Shoot..

My mind quickly went to (y/n), and how he was already with someone else, yet I tried so hard to impress him.. I mean, I know I should respect his choice to be with that girl, I just..

I wanted at least a chance to try..

Looking down at my feet, I offered the megaphone, "Give Mermando the megaphone.."

"Thanks, Dip.." She threw the megaphone at Mermando, who caught it with ease.

He smiled in return, "Mabel, I have never met anyone like you.."

"Same here.. Except for a zombie, a gnome, and a couple of cute vampires."

I raised an eyebrow, "I don't remember the vampires."

"I don't tell you guys everything," she said with a smirk before looking back at Mermando, "Well, Mermando, I guess this is it.."

"Not quite, this is!" He leaped out of the water, kissing Mabel, and I quickly turned around in disgust.

"Woah okay, that's gross."

"Wohoho!! That was my first kiss!!" She poked my arm, "Hey, it was also kind of your first kiss to, huh~?"

"Please don't involve me in this."

She reached down, holding Mermando's hand, 0Goodbye, Mermando.."

"Goodbye, Mabel.." and he dove into the water.

Mabel turned back to me, "You did the right thing, Dipper.."

"Yeah yeah.."

"Oh, wait wait!! One last thing!!" She ran over to the rocks, striking a pose as Mermando leaped behind her in the sunrise scenery, smiling widely, "I've always wanted to do that!"

We headed back to the pool since I had to return the cart, and Poolcheck was there waiting for me, the angriest I had ever seen him, but I wasn't even scared by this point.

"A WRECKED FENCE, DENTS IN THE POOL MOBILE, AND A MISSING MEGAPHONE?! WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?!?" he screamed in my face as the veins in his neck nearly popped out.

I stared back as calm as I could be, "It's my fault, sir. I'm sorry. I got in too deep."

"Hand.. over.. the WHISTLE, BOY!!"

I did, and what I didn't expect was for him to throw it into his mouth and chew and swallow it, so I just.. quietly left before he lost the last of his sanity and drowned me....

I let out a sigh, hands in my pockets before some water suddenly splashed in my face, making me wipe it off before looking up, seeing Wendy in front of me, "Hey, doofus! You'll never guess what happened. I just got fired."

"What? Really?"

"Yeah. I guess Poolcheck found out I was taking too many snacks."

"How many?"

She lifted her hat, revealing three bags of chips on her head, to which we both laughed at, then her expression morphed into one more worried, "How's (y/n), by the way? He doing okay?"

"I'm not sure, I was gonna go check on him now, but he was still asleep last time I saw him.."

She stared at me for a while, then smiled, "You really like this boy, don't you?"

I grew red, patting my cheeks in embarrassment, "I-is it that obvious..?"

"Kinda, you're always muttering things under your breath, it's hard to ignore it."

"Not like it matters, he has a girlfriend anyway.."

"I guess. But they might not last forever, who knows? Now, I'm not saying confess to him as soon as they break up, if they break up, he'll definitely need some time to heal. But when the time comes," she nudged by side, "You'll know."

Staring up at her, I smiled, "Thanks, Wendy.. you give some pretty good advice sometimes.."

"Yeah with three younger brothers, I'm a packet of wisdom chips."

I chuckled, "Well, I'll be going, I wanna make sure he's doing okay."

"Alright, get home safe. Later!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was actually pretty nervous to enter my room again; I didn't know in what state I'd find (y/n) in, whether he was doing better or even worse.
Holding my breath as I opened the door, I grew even more nervous when I saw nobody in the room, it was just empty.
That could mean something very good, or very bad..
"Dipper?"
I turned around at the voice, released to see (y/n) by the door holding a towel, "Oh, hey, you're walking..?"
"Yeah, I wanted to take a shower.. Shouldn't you be getting ready for your next shift?"
"Actually, I uh.. I got fired, heh.."
His eyes widened a bit, "Oh.. I'm sorry about that, I know how much you wanted to keep that job, especially with Wendy there.."
I tilted my head, "What's that suppose to mean..?"
"Oh, y-you know.." he sat on the edge of my bed, "With uh.. all that.."
Confused, I sat beside him, "(y/n) I really don't understand what you're saying.."
"It's just- ... n-never mind.." He looked away, "It's not important anyway.."
"... right.." I fiddled with my fingers, "Uh.. how are you feeling..?"
"Mostly tired, but better.."
"That's good.."
"So.. what'd you do that got you fired..?"
"Oh that is a long story actually.." I let out a chuckle, "Basically Mabel met this boy who actually turned out to be a merman-"
"You guys met a merman?!"
"Well I barely spoke to him, but basically, Mabel needed some pool supplies to help him get back home, and I took the blame since I was suppose to be watching over those supplies and Poolcheck got really mad and somehow ate the whistle he had given me? I dunno, it was a weird day."
(y/n) laughed, the first laugh of his I had heard these past few days, and man was it so nice to hear.. Even his smile remained as the laughing eased down, "To be honest, I'm not that surprised he did that."
If he hadn't been so close, I wouldn't have understood what he said; I just couldn't look away from him, from his eyes, his smile.
He raised an eyebrow, calling my name in confusion, but I was already lost in my own head with this vision..
Maybe...
Maybe I should just tell him.. right now..
Even if he didn't feel the same, even if he really did like Lorelei..
It would at least help me move on, right..?
"Dipper, are you doing okay..?"
"Yeah, I just.." I bit my lip, "... (y/n), I.. I think I-"
"HEY BOYS!!" (y/n) and I screamed as we both jumped back, Mabel standing by the door with a big smile, "Stan brought breakfast pizza!!"
"O-oh, we'll be down in a minute!" I said with the best fake smile I could put on.
"Hm?" She then looked at (y/n), then me, then at (y/n), then at me, then smirked, "Ohhh, did I interrupt your trip to Snooshville~?"
"M-Mabel!!"
"No no, I'll leave, you continue, bye!!" and she ran off.
I shook my head, trying to ease the redness in my cheeks, "Stupid Mabel.."
"Yeah, heh.. uh.. what were you gonna tell me..?"
"Oh, that.. I.."
...
No..
I wasn't gonna put that kind of pressure on him.. not right now..
So I just smiled, "I'm just really glad you're okay.."
"Oh.." he smiled a bit, though it seemed shy, "Is.. is that all..?"
"Uh.. yeah, I guess.." I stood up, "A-anyway, you need the energy, so let's go eat.."
"Right.."
Someday.. Someday I'll let him know..
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
❤️❤️❤️
