🌕 Ep. 12: Summerween 🌕
Okay two things-
1) I posted a new book! It's a book about a couple that my partner and I share, how they meet and fall in love, but with both having traumatic pasts, things get a little dicey.
It's called Crystal Shards and Broken Tears
It's also a boy x boy, so if you're not into that, then.. oof. But if you wanna give it a read, it'd really appreciate it ^^
2) @KumanekoFuji has a Dipper x Reader book called Daylilies and Pinecones, and I'm really enjoying it so far! :0
Okay back to gay-
~~~~~~~~~Dipper's POV~~~~~~~~~
"Here we are!" Stan explained with a smile as we all left the car, facing a Halloween themed store, "The Summerween Superstore!"
I raised an eyebrow, "Wait, the summer what?"
He pulled out a calendar, "Summerween! The people of this town love Halloween so much they celebrate it twice a year, and wouldn't you know it, it's today!
"Do you always carry that calendar in your pocket?"
"... yes."
"Summerween?" Mabel tilted her head, "Something about this feels unnatural.."
Soos placed a hand on our shoulders, "There's free candy~"
So we raided the store! How could we say No to free candy? I mean, c'mon! That being said, we weren't exactly the most thoughtful customers, causing a ruckus and breaking a few things on accident.
Eventually the lady at the cash register had enough, calling security to escort us out, only for Stan to throw a smoke bomb at her face as we all ran out and got in the car.
I could tell this would be a fun day.
Back at the shack, Mabel and I were on the floor planning our costumes for later, with Mabel yelling, "I am so excited!!"
I smiled, "We're gonna have the best costumes, get the most candy,"
"And have the biggest stomach aches ever!!"
"Yeah!!"
We high fived, with Soos sitting on the couch as he watched, "Wow, I've never seen you two so pumped!"
I passed over our photo album to Mabel as she began to explain, "Well, back at home, me and Dipper were kind of the kings of trick-or-treating. Twins in costumes, the people eat it up!"
"Well, you dudes better be careful out there. It's a night of ghouls and goblins, not to mention..." Soos turned off the lights, pointing a flashlight to his face, "The Summerween Trickster..!"
Mabel raised an eyebrow, "The Summer-what what what?"
"The Trickster goes door to door, so the legend goes, eating children who lack the Summerween spirit!"
"Well, you don't have to worry about us," I replied as I ate a piece of candy, "We've got spirit to go around."
But when I chewed it, I could only gag from how gross it tasted, barely ever to swallow as I coughed in reaction, "What is this stuff?! I've never even heard of these brands!" I began picking out candies from the bowl, "Sand Pop? Gummy chairs? Mr. Adequate-Bar?"
Mabel's eyebrows bent in frustration, "This is all cheap-o loser candy!"
"Quiet, you're discontent, children!" Soos picked a candy, "What if the Trickster overhears?!"
"Your cape is caught in your fly, Soos," with that, I walked over to the window.
Soos narrowed his eyes, "Touché.." and ate the candy he took.
I didn't hesitate to throw the candy out the window, "Goodbye, loser candy."
That's when the doorbell rang, and Stan yelled from upstairs, "Trick-or-treaters!! Quick, give'm that terrible candy!!"
I let out a heavy sigh, taking the bowl with me as I walked to the door, opening it, "Happy Summerw- AH!"
"Hey Dip!"
My cheeks quickly heated up as I saw (y/n) standing there, a sheepish smile on my face, "Oh, hey! I didn't know if you were coming by today!"
"I left my jacket here yesterday, so," he replied with a shrug, then tilted his head, "Wait, what's today?"
"Summerween! I would expect you to know about that, I mean, you did grow up here."
He seemed to grow pale at that, "Summerween's today?"
"This is great! You can come with us to Trick-or-Treat tonight! The more the merrier!"
"Actually, Dipper," he rubbed his arm, visibly nervous, "I can't go, not tonight.."
"What? But-"
"I hope you and Mabel have a wonderful Summerween, but I just.. I can't join, I'm sorry.."
A pit of sadness formed in my stomach, not to mention worry, had something happened to him..? Was he in danger, or sick..?
Or.. maybe it's just her..
A small glare grew on my face, "Is this about Lorelei?"
"What? No, I-"
"Cuz lately you've been hanging out with her more. And I get it, she's your girlfriend, but this was gonna be our first holiday together, I wanted to spend it with you!"
"This has nothing to do with Lorelei, Dipper!"
"Then why can't you join us?! You've been keeping so many secrets from us lately, is this how you treat your friends?! Is really how much you trust u-?!"
"I JUST CAN'T, OKAY?!?"
Something else snapped when he yelled, someone inside him. His eyes seemed to change for a split second, but it was enough for me to catch, and his fangs seemed.. longer..?
Mabel rushed over, "Whoa, guys, what happened?!"
If anything though, (y/n) just seemed to be on the verge of tears, gripping his arms as he backed away to be outside, "N-nothing, it's- it's nothing, I-I'm sorry, I just- ... I-I need some air.."
"Wait!!" I tried to call out to him, but he ran away faster than anyone I've ever seen.
I hadn't meant to raise my voice before, it's just.. everything seemed to come out of me, all my doubts and questions to the unexplained situations I've seen surrounded him.. I want to trust him, he's my best friend, but he's such a secretive person..
Does he just not trust me..?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About an hour had passed, and I could hear Mabel chatting with her friends Candy and Grenda downstairs, Candy being the first I heard, "Is Waddles coming with us?"
"I wish he could, but he's got some very important meetings to attend~!"
I walked down the stairs, seeing Mabel holding Waddles, "File these documents under I, for I have a curly tail!!"
They all laughed, then Grenda asked, "What about your brother?"
"Oh man, you guys just wait until you see Dipper's costume! It's amazing~!" Mabel turned to me as I walked down the final steps, "Here he comes now!"
But her smile quickly faded away as she saw I was in my normal outfit, though Candy still nodded in reply, "That is a very good Dipper costume."
Mabel walked over, "What the hey hey, bro bro, where's your costume?"
"Look, I can't go trick-or-treating, I'm uh... really sick!" I coughed, gripping my stomach, "Must've been that bad candy," I fell to my side to convince them, "You go on without me!"
Mabel wasn't having it, "Fight through it, man! Where's your Summerween spirit?!"
That's when a knock was heard at the door, and I was the one to walk over. When I opened it, there was a tall figure, and I mean tall, wearing a mask that covered their entire face; their voice was raspy and menacing, almost like it was forced out..
"Trick or Treat.."
I wasn't in the mood though, "Dude, really? You're a little old for this, man, sorry."
"But wait, I-!"
When I closed the door on their face, Mabel shot me a glare, "Why'd you close the door?!"
"I told you, Mabel, I'm just not feeling it tonight!" I coughed some more.
She smiled, "I think a little trick-or-treating will make you feel better!"
"I'm not trick-or-treating!"
Another knock, and I groaned as I opened the door again, "Look, man, just go to another house!" and closed it once again.
"Dipper, where's your Summerween hospitality?!?"
A third knock, and my glare only sharpened, "I'm not getting that!"
"Well, I am!" This time, Mabel opened the door with an apologetic smile, "I apologize for my brother, he came down with the case of the grumpy-grumps."
"Silence!!!" we flinched back, "You have insulted me and for that for this you must pay with your lives..!!"
Mabel simply tried to keep the mood up, "Oho, what a cute little mask! You're a funny guy, aren't you?!"
The tall one had to lean down in order to step inside, "Funny, am I?"
"Twick or Tweat!" a little kid sang behind, smiling innocently, "My name is Gorney!"
But before we knew what was happening, the creature picked up the young kid, and as the kid screamed "Remember me!!", threw the kid into his mouth, swallowing him whole.
We screamed in pure fear, Grenda falling the kid's name before the creature started monologuing, "There's only one way for you to avoid his fate; I need a treat.. If you can collect five hundred pieces of candy and bring it to me before the last jack-o-melon goes out.." he blew out our jack-o-melon, "I will let you live.."
"Five hundred treats in one night?!?" I yelled in disbelief, "That's impossible!!"
"The choice is yours, children.." the creature crawled back out, "You must trick-or-treat, or die.." It climbed above the shack, and as we ran out, disappeared from our sight.
What just happened..?!
I turned to the group, "Oh my gosh, girls, do you know what this mean..?!"
"We do.." Mabel smiled brightly, "It means you have to come trick-or-treating!! YAY!!"
She talked me in a hug, which I quickly pulled away as Candy asked in panic, "Who was that guy..?!"
"It's the legend Soos told us about! It's true!!" Mabel replied.
Grenda began to shake me, "What do we do, what do we do?!?"
As I pulled away, Soos walked out of the shack, "What's going on out here, dudes? I heard a ruckus. Hehe, that's a funny word, ruckus."
"Soos, a monster is making us trick-or-treat or else he's gonna eat us!!"
As I explained, Candy pulled out her phone, "I got a picture!!"
Soos's eyes widened, "The Summerween Trickster! Oh man, dude, you guys are in crazy bonkers trouble..!"
I gripping my hat in a panic, "How are we gonna get that much candy in one night?! There's no way!!"
We all turned as we heard a clap, seeing Mabel standing on a bail of hay as she glared down at us, "Listen up, people!! Now some might say that being cursed by a bloodthirsty holiday monster is a bad thing!"
"I wet myself," Grenda replied as I stepped away from her.
"But that monster messed with the wrong crew! With Candy's spirit, Grenda's strength, Dipper's brains, and... Soos here, we'll get five hundred pieces of candy and have fun doing it too!! Even if it takes all night!!!"
The others cheered, but even with the scary monster trying to kill us, I didn't have any motivation for this..
Mabel then gasp, jumping down, "We should get (y/n) to help us! He's super fast, super strong, and it would just be a lot of fun with him around! Plus, the more the merrier, we'd get the candy in no time! Dipper, where's-?"
"No."
"What?"
I crossed my arms, my glare being hidden by my hat, "I don't think we should invite (y/n)."
She puffed her cheeks, "Why not, we're always with him, and we've never gone trick or treating with him either! He's our friend too!"
"Yeah well, friends shouldn't just brush others off for someone else!"
"Is this about earlier? I thought you both said it was nothing!"
"It's-!!" I stopped myself, taking a deep breath, "Can we just drop it? He already said he couldn't come with us earlier. He's probably just with Lorelei anyway, we shouldn't bother him."
Mabel stared at me for a while, then let out a sigh, "Fine, but if we need the extra hands, I'll call him myself. Now, to the streets!!"
Her friends cheered and followed as she ran off, with me simple sticking my hands in my pockets and following along.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had gotten a little wagon to carry the candy we needed, walking through town as I brought up a thought I had, "I don't understand why we can't just buy our candy and be done with this."
Mabel pouted, "That sort of takes the fun out of trick-or-treat-or-die!"
"I'm trying to take the die out of trick-or-treat-or-die."
We stopped by Lazy Susan's house first, with everyone but me yelling, "Trick or Treat!!"
"And is everyone in costume?" She began to point at each of us, "Chimney sweet, elephant man, squeegee, ant farm," she stopped at me, "Oh, and what are you supposed to be?"
"Uh, actually I'm not dressed up as anything. We-we're kind of in a hurry here."
"Oh, I see.." She gave each one of you one piece of candy, "Enjoy!!" and slammed the door in our faces.
"One piece of black licorice?!" Grenda pointed out.
Candy followed, "Circus peanut! This is loser candy!"
I began to panic, "Five pieces of candy?! This is gonna take forever!!"
Mabel glares at me, "We've gotta up our game, Dipper! You've gotta put on your costume!"
"I told you, I'm not up to it, Mabel!"
"Oh really..?" the creature from before appeared on the roof, all of us tensing up as it jumped down behind Soos, taking a candy from his bag, "I've seen better.." It then took the jack-o-melon and jumped back on the roof, "Tick tock.." and disappeared from our sight.
We stared for a while, until Mabel turned to me with a glare, "So what was that about you being too sick to wear your costume?"
I let out a sigh, and we headed over to some bushes, where I took off my best and hat, and put on the costume Mabel had planned.
"Introducing for the first time in public..!!" Mabel introduced as I stepped out, the annoyance clear on my face, "Ta-da!!! Peanut butter and jelly!!!"
"Aww!!!"
Candy took a picture, "I will make you internet famous!"
"Hey, erase that!!" I checked my watch, "Let's just get this over with, okay?"
They walked off while changing, "Over with!!! Over with!!!"
Let's do this quick..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took about two hours, but we managed to get 499 pieces! We had stopped by almost every single house in town, and our wagon had a mountain of candy!
Mabel raised her arms, "We did it!!" We all cheered for a bit, then she smiled, "All we need is one more piece of candy!"
"Dude, I'm gonna go around and grab the truck. Soos away!!" he ran off on his own.
Mabel smiled at us, "Last one to the final house is a pair of wax lips!!" She ran off, Grenda and Candy following; I was going to as well, only to see a familiar face.
Lorelei?!
Oh no, no no, I can't let her see me like this, especially if she's with (y/n)!
In a panic, I pushed the wagon back into some bushes, as well as my costume, before leaning back as I tried to be cool, noticing as Lorelei walked closer.
She looked up, stopping in her tracks, "Oh! Hey, Dipper..!"
"Oh, hey, didn't see you here."
"Heh, sorry.. I was just heading back home from a friend's house.."
"Cool, cool."
"Hey, uh, Dipper?" her expression changed into something more of worry, "Next time you see (y/n), do you mind telling him to give me a call?"
I grew confused, "Wait, he's- he's not with you..?"
She shook her head, "I only saw him once earlier today when he stopped by. I had asked if he wanted to spend Summerween watching some horror movies at my place, but he said tonight wasn't a good night for him to do so.."
Huh.. he said the same thing to me..
"I haven't really seen him around either, but I'll let him know."
"Thanks, Dipper.. Enjoy your night..!" and with a wave, she continued her way.
So.. (y/n) wasn't with Lorelei either..? Then where was he..?!
"Wait," I tensed up, turning to see Mabel, "Is that why you didn't wanna invite (y/n) earlier? Because you thought he was with Lorelei?"
"Well, n-no, I-"
She threw a candy at my face, "That's why you've been acting so weird! You're jealous?! Are you kidding me?! (y/n) is our friend!! You should have more trust in him!!"
"Mabel, I know that, it's just- hard with all the secrets he's been keeping sometimes!"
"We all have secrets, Dipper, that doesn't mean he's hiding the fact that he's a bloodthirsty monster!! He's allowed to hide some parts of his life!" She then looked around, a glare still on her face, "And where's all the candy?!"
"Relax, relax! I left it right here, behind this bush," I walked over, only to see that the wagon had fallen off a cliff and was now following the river away, "Oh no.."
Mabel glared daggers at me, "What did you do?!?
"Well I- I-!!"
"Uh, guys..?!" Grenda added, our faces white as ghosts.
"Oh no, all the jack-o-melons are out!!"
"Look!!!" I pointed over at McGucket, who's jack-o-melon was still lit up.
"Hehe, goodnight!"
We all ran over in a pure terror, yelling for him to not blow out the candle as he looked at all of us in confusion.
"Just don't blow out that candle!!"
He took a horn and placed it against his ear, "What?!?"
I leaned closer, "Don't blown out that candle!!!"
"... I'm Old Man McGucket!!"
"Wait-!!!"
Before he could blow off the candle, Grenda head butted the old man and took the lantern herself, "Sorry!"
McGucket climbed up a mountain of cars, soon disappeared back to where he came from, with me going, "Oof, that was close!"
We all let out a sigh of relief at the same time, only for our breaths to turn off the little flame, "... Uh oh."
From the haze of a flickering light, the monster walked over once again, "Knock knock.."
None of us cared when Grenda dropped the jack-o-melon at our feet, staring at the monster as it came closer to us, tapping his own fingers together, "So children, where's my candy..?"
I quickly blurted out, "I swear we had all 500 pieces!! Look, it's down there somewhere, we can still get it!!"
The others nodded, but the monster only growled, "I'm afraid it's too late! That was your last chance!"
As a last resort, I threw the candy Mabel had thrown at me at the creature, who simply absorbed it as it began to laugh loudly and maniacally.
"GO GO GO GO!!!" I yelled, all of us running as fast as we can around the creature, only to stop as Mabel screamed my name, turning to see her being dragged back by the monster, and it only took a few seconds more for me to be grabbed as well.
Was this is?! Was my stupidity really the cause of everyone's deaths?!
I shut my eyes, the fear too overwhelming to handle, trying to ready myself for whatever was to come.
Only to hear.. a roar..?
It was more of a shriek, loud, from not to far, and I looked around in a panic to make sure it wasn't something new also trying to get us killed.
A shadow then jumped into the monster, and all I could hear were the monster's screams of pain, as well as constantly scratching and shrieking from something else. When the monster's limbs were slashed off, the four of us made a run for it, far enough from the monster, and this new beast, seeing as it formed into a pile of candy goo, and the new one stepped out of it.
The beast was.. a person..?
Grenda sat up with a smile, "We're alive!! Yeah!!"
Mabel gasped in joy, "A hero!! Thank you so much!!"
But no.. this wasn't just anyone.. Even through the sunglasses, even through the mask, even through the (f/c) hoodie that baggy pants that covered every inch of his body.
I tensed up at my own words, "(y/n)..?"
He froze when I called his name, and when I began to walk closer, he took a few steps back.
Was he scared..? Scared of what..?
I raised my hands in surrender as an attempt to calm him down, "Hey.. it's okay.. We're not gonna hurt you or anything.."
"... not.. afraid..?"
His voice was deeper than normal, almost glitchy in a sense, yet I could hear the pain that hid within, both the pain of his fear and a physical pain from forcing himself to talk with such a tone.
I smiled a little, "Of course not, you saved our butts back there.."
He stayed quiet for a while, then walked over to stand in front of me, reaching a hand to my face. I could tell he was waiting for a sudden reaction, maybe a trigger, but when I kept my stare steady, he carefully cupped my cheek, my heart skipping a beat as my face grew hot.
"... hurt.."
"It's only a few bruises, I'll be better after some bandaids.."
He stayed quiet after that, and I noticed his hands were also covered in gloves. Whatever he was trying to hide, tonight it was affecting him physically.
Was he a werewolf? It was a full moon, but don't wear wolves change anatomy completely? Bigger? Stronger? (y/n) still seems to be the same height and weight, even through all the clothes. Was it different than the myths claimed it to be?
Or was he something else? A vampire maybe? Vampires don't have anything to do with the full moon, do they?
Whatever it was, he didn't want anyone to find out, he was.. protecting everyone, protecting himself.
Soos's car then stopped beside us, with him stepping out, "You dudes doing okay?"
"Soos!!" we yelled while running over.
He looked around, "Is the monster gone? Did the candy work?"
Mabel let out a sigh, "The candy was lost, but (y/n) took it down with his cool moves!!"
(y/n) gave a thumbs up, to which Soos giggled, "Nice ninja costume, dude!"
"C'mon, we should head home," I said as I walked to the car, "We've all had a long day.."
Everyone followed along and got in the car, all except for (y/n). He had stayed in place, fiddling with his fingers, unsure of whether to follow or not. I peeked my head out, giving him a smile as I waved for him to join; he seemed surprised, but relieved, and sat beside me in the car before we started our way back home.
He kept his gaze staring out the window, though I couldn't see it. Most of the ride went by in silence, an awkward tension lingering around. It wasn't until Mabel peeked out of the window that the silence was broken, her voice having noticeable terror, "Uh.. guys..?!"
I looked out the window, and my eyes widened when I saw pieces of the monster coming back together, making an even bigger version of it. With a loud scream, Soos stomped on the gas pedal, but the monster then jumped on the car's front.
"Breaks!!!" I yelled, only for us to crash into the Summerween store. which made me confused at first, until we crashed into the Summerween Superstore; at least we were unharmed for the most part.
But once we saw the monster rushing over, we all ran off to our own corners, hiding as best as we could. (y/n) and I ended up hiding under some shelves in the isle, while the others were just on the other side.
"Everyone, stay quiet..!" I whispered, We don't want to attract the monster..!"
I then turned to (y/n), and grew tense when I realized how he was doing; he was trembling in place, hands clawing at his own arms through the jacket. His breathing was heavy, and even through the sunglasses, I could see a strange glow that emanated from within.
He was trying to keep it together so badly.. is this why he didn't want to be with us tonight..?
"... (y/n)..?"
Turning over to me, he tightly gripped his arm to stay a little more still.
I rubbed the back of my neck, "I uh.. I just.. ... I wanted to apologize for earlier.. I was stupid, and selfish, I had no idea that you'd be going through something like this.." I smiled shyly, "I just really wanted to spend tonight with my best friend, you know..?"
He stared at me for a while, and not long after, I began to hear peculiar sounds, his head tilting down.
Wait.. w-was he.. crying..?
"Not.. friend.. m-monster.."
Monster..? Was I right..? Or was he just using that as a metaphor..? In a place like Gravity Falls, it was hard to tell..
Still, I wanted to let him know he was wrong, that he's not a monster, not any part of him is..
I cupped his face, to which he was a bit stunned by, but didn't pull away, and gave him the best smile I could monster.
"You're not a monster.. You're just (y/n).. that's never gonna change.."
Staring at me for a while, he seemed to be frozen in place, whether it was from shock or fear, I didn't know.
But what took me off guard is when he reached up, his hands shaking as he slowly pulled his sunglasses off his face, staring right at me as if to see my reaction.
It was.. shocking, I had to say.. His normally (e/c) eyes had become a glowing (f/c), with the white parts around it now a pitch black. The skin around his eyes had changed too, he was much more pale, with the veins visible through his skin, pulsing in a (f/) glow.
He was different in looks, I had to say that..
And yet, he had tried so hard to keep us safe..
So I smiled, "Heh, you look like an edgy superhero.."
His eyes widened at my reply, then he tightly closed them with a sniffle, tears peaking out of them as he buried his face in my hat.
I grew hot, but chuckled regardless, "Hey, it's okay.."
He had an arm around me, which I could still feel shaking, but he seemed relieved, happier, and that's all that mattered to me..
Yet even so, I did want to know more..
"If you don't mind me asking.. Are you, like, a werewolf of some sort..? I mean, it's a full moon, so I kinda figured-"
"N-not.. wolf.."
"But you're a were creature of some sort.."
He nodded.
"Does this always happen in full moons..?"
He nodded again.
"... does it hurt you..?"
This was a question he hesitated to answer, but a few seconds later, he nodded once more.
"... (y/n), I-"
I covered my mouth as we heard the monster pass by, with him putting his glasses back on when it was out of sigh.
"We have to escape!" Candy whispered from the other side.
Grenda whispered after, "What if it sees us?"
"If only there was something we could use to cover our bodies and faces with, you know like a disguise of some kind.." Soos mumbled in thought.
But it gave us the idea. We got some costumes from one of the isles, making sure our whole bodies were covered.
Slowly but direly, we were making our way through the store and towards the exit. But just when we were nearly out, I noticed Soos was at one of the isles, "Soos! Stop!"
He was about to press one of the skeleton heads that he loved so much when we stopped by earlier, forcing us all to hide behind the counter, Mabel scolding, "Soos, don't you dare!"
"Sorry, dude, today's been way stressful, I need some levity," ignoring us, he pressed the skeleton and waited waited a few seconds.
When nothing happened, we all let out a sigh of relief, Mabel turning to me, "Oh thank goodness, it was out of batteries."
But I gasped when Soos opened up a new pack of batteries, Mabel yelling this time, "Soos, no!!"
He pressed it again, and this time, the skeleton head lit up, "No matter the score, I'm always a-head!"
Soos laughed in response, "This cackling head's the voice of a generation!"
The monster instantly spotted Soos, who simply pressed the head again to hear another cackle, only to be devoured by the monster.
"Hey monster!!" I yelled, getting its attention as the rest of us pulled out down weapons we had gotten just incase. Sure they were fake and plastic, but the monster was made of a very soft material, so it was easy to attack it.
Grenda cut off one of its arms, then I noticed her expression change into disgust, "Saltwater taffy? Gross!"
"What are you-?" as I cut off its leg, specks of salt fell into my mouth, "Wait.. it is..!"
"You really haven't figured it out yet..?" We couldn't run away as it picked us up with its four hands, using another to remove its mask, "Don't you recognize me? Look at my face! Look closely.."
Mabel yelled, "Loser candy!!"
"That's right! Did you ever stop and think about the candy at the bottom of the bag that no one likes? Every year, the children of Gravity Falls throw away all of the rejected candy into the dump. So I seek revenge. Revenge on the picky children who cast me aside! I am made of every tossed piece of black licorice, every discarded bar of old chocolate with like that white powder stuff on it, you know that stuff?!"
"I hate that stuff!!"
"No one would eat me! But now I'm going to eat you..!" Mabel and I screamed as the monster leaned us closer to its face, only for the monster to freeze for a moment, looking down, "What is that?! AHH!!"
The monster dropped us to the ground, and we were all shocked to see as Soos bursted through its stomach, eating what seemed to be part of the monster's body?
He smiled, "'Sup bro."
Starting to scream and puke out jelly beans, the monster fell on his side, when Soos turned to us, "Dudes, you want some of this?"
We all shook our heads.
"Wait.." the monster looked at Soos, "You actually think I taste... good..?!"
"Um, sure, you know."
"All I've ever wanted was for someone to say that I was good..!!" it began to cry candy corns, "I'm so happy!"
"Crying makes it a little weird, but I guess I'm still eating."
Gorney then popped up beside Soos, who greeted with, "'Sup, Gorney."
"I've been twamatized!" he replied in a cheery tone.
Everyone else started to leave the store, but I quickly rushed over to (y/n), who was gripping his arms as he reached the door, "Hey..!"
He looked down at me, waiting for me to continue.
"So uh.. I'm guessing you gotta go home now, right..?"
There was hesitation in his answer, but he nodded.
I smiled a bit, "Then I'll see you tomorrow at work..?"
His shoulders relaxed a bit, and he nodded a little quicker.
"Cool..! Cool.. I'll uh.. see you then..!"
A few seconds went by, and he wrapped his arms around me in a hug. My heart began to skip rapidly, my face heating up, when I heard him let out a mumble.
"Th.. thank you.. Dipper.."
I smiled, hugging him back as I rested my head on his chest, "Ah hush.."
He chuckled a bit, then he pulled away, lightly ruffling my hat before running into the forest at inhuman speeds.
So.. (y/n) wasn't human. He was powerful, and strong, and possibly dangerous. But he went so out of his way just to keep us safe. Even if the dangers are beyond his control, I know who he is, and I'm more than proud to call him a friend.
Maybe, someday.. something more than a friend..
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
❤️❤️❤️
