Chapter thirty-three
Aurora felt somewhat better the next day, and Debby ordered two coffees at the café. They were leaving, going to the park, searching for a place to sit.
Debby: Aurora, you are going to the wrong place. That doesn't mean you won't go to other places like that.
Aurora: I heard about trap house; I've never been there.
Debby: *hearing*
Aurora: I know you were trying to help me out of it.
Debby: You have to fight for your life real fast.
Aurora: *drinks the coffee*
Debby: It might be surprising to realize that you could face that feeling of losing time again.
Aurora: No, I don't. The only reason we're still working as a team is to earn more money.
Debby: Yeah, not going to the trap house; they'll kill you here.
Aurora: *keeps drinking*
Debby: That's crazy, and you know that.
Aurora: I feel you. I have to slightly right in to make things right to push myself an opportunity.
Debby: You should have.
Aurora: I was acting completely bullshit other nights ago.
Debby: *rubbing her back* Your life will be better, don't fucked this shit up, alright?
Aurora: *keeps drinking*
Debby: I wanna advise. I was so messed up when I was done up.
Aurora: You have?
Debby: *sighs* I was.
Aurora: *hearing*
Debby: You can imagine I told Kevin about the situation with cheating.
Aurora: It was Freshman ago.
Debby: *hearing*
Aurora: I've fixed my problem with him, so screw everything.
Debby: So now we still keep an eye on the cops ahead whether they are out here.
Aurora: You're right. Now you remember it still. You kept remembering this shit.
Debby: *smiles softly and continues drinking*
Meanwhile, Mia and Claire distributed the Fashion Week paper in Square Park, reminding everyone that it's happening next month. Once the paper was fully distributed, they walked towards each other and settled in together.
Mia: What are you thinking? P.S. Your bang hair already cut you off.
Claire: Sure did; I ain't waste time for being a different person; it makes me feel like I'm a bitch.
Mia: You're not a bitch, come on now. At times, you will recognize yourself in the future.
Claire: *looks around*
Mia: What are you looking at?
Claire: Nothing.
Mia: Come to the store real quick.
Mia and Claire quickly grabbed their snacks at the corner store before they paid. Since it was Mia's first time at the store, they planned to stick around and explore for a bit. While looking around with Claire, Mia munched on her snacks.
Claire: *looks at her*
Mia: *doing the same* What?
Claire: Clearly, you're starving.
Mia: It's snack time for me.
Later that night, Griffin tossed the bowl, making it strike twice while playing bowling against Raquel. After he sat down, he watched Raquel's reaction to his throw.
Raquel: Wow, wow, wow. I get it. I made a strike before; here comes the double.
Griffin: Do you know what I feel like? It's for you to win over me.
Raquel: *smirks and throws a bowl and makes the strike*
Griffin: I called it. But not yet.
Raquel: What makes you say that? To yourself, or are you telling me? *sits right next to him*
Griffin: I think...
Raquel: I'll make a bet for you first.
Griffin: Let me take a chance to talk first.
Raquel: *hearing*
Griffin: I came up with another idea to escape the city, handle personal matters, and manage my business obligations; that's my responsibility.
Raquel: What you gonna do?
Griffin: I don't know. My plan is still holding on, but I ain't ready yet. I still have to settle in New York City. Once I handle it, my job is done before I leave out of there.
Raquel: My sisters are on your team; they won't judge you and genuinely want to help without being noticed.
Griffin: *hearing*
Raquel: *kissing his head* If it weren't for me, I wouldn't be safe in one night.
Griffin: Is there a reason you haven't given yourself a little heads-up yet?
Raquel: Not yet.
Griffin: *hearing*
Raquel: After this game, how far will you live? I'm checking out your place.
Kevin strolled through Square Park, glancing at the ambulance beside a few police cars as they crossed the road for an investigation. He was on his way to meet Mia and walked over to her.
Kevin: Tyson just got out. He told me the truth about how he knew who shot him.
Mia: *looks at him*
Kevin: Tuck is the one. Then I noticed him with two detectives who were nearby.
Mia: Shit. So is this all the plan?
Kevin: Uh-huh. We've got another target on his back.
Mia: *hearing*
Kevin: What you gonna do with Tuck?
Mia: Showing him the consequences. To exploit him for gain.
The next day, Claire, Debby, and Raquel relaxed on the Brooklyn Bridge, watching the water and the road while discussing their activities from the night before.
Claire: So, how's everything going with Griffin? *looks at Raquel*
Raquel: Things are good. I slipped into his house. We didn't fall in love; we just watched a movie late at night, mainly because he was making Nachos Grande.
Debby: Really? He must be feeling quite hungry you.
Raquel: Come on, now. I had myself a point; I asked him where he lived.
Claire: You can go anywhere with him since he is busy getting around.
Raquel: So do I.
Claire: Anyway, I'm still stuck in the dorm, which is to be alive.
Debby: That's why you're out with us. No one recognizes who you are.
Claire: *hearing*
Raquel: You both should consider finding a new home since you're growing older. I remember how well you managed it, just like I did with my parents when I left.
Debby: We are, but I need to spend more time with my mom than that.
Claire: Raq, she had her point.
Raquel: *hearing*
Mia on the way back to the fashion store with coffee. She notices Detective Cheyenne exiting the car quickly and nearly bumps into her.
Cheyenne: Where do you think you're going?
Mia: None of your concern.
Cheyenne: It seems like I'm about to beat the breaks out of you motherfucker.
Mia: I don't compete with you. On top of that, did you believe I would be available, or wasn't I good enough for myself? You keep caught on guard and threatening us. I don't want that for you; we ain't gonna run anymore.
Cheyenne: I know you are now. You grow up in Oregon. I would contact your parents; I know everything you are running in NYC and who you are now.
Mia: *looks at her*
Cheyenne: I'm the devil, girl.
Mia: Tuck has messaged me to meet him over here. Do you have his address?
Cheyenne: Bullshit.
Mia: I wouldn't call it a crisis for you. My point is, I would do the same shit for you after how you've treated us all this time. You're messing with my team, and you've messed with me.
Cheyenne: *hearing*
Mia: Eliminating guilt from my life. I learned that, with grief, you have to take it one day at a time and learn how to find happiness amid the heartbreak. That's on me. Go ahead and arrest me. Because I don't give a fuck. I will come for your ass. If you don't believe me, get out of my face. *bumps her while trying to walk away*
Cheyenne: I'll send you to his address; he would happily talk to you.
Mia: *looks at her*
Later that night, Mia drove to Tuck's location, parking her car, and she texted the group chat about meeting at the nightclub in an hour. She retrieved her gun and reloaded it while observing the people in the apartment giving out the drugs. Mia, dressed in a red jacket with camouflage boots, tucked the gun into her coat pocket, ready to hunt Tuck.
Tuck: *doing on his laptop while typing something* Hold up, Julia. Be in a minute. *stands up before shutting the laptop as he walks out of the room and sees Julia on the ground being shot in the head; he sees Mia sitting on the couch with the gun after taking out the silencer*
Mia: I would have known you were keeping something from me after you shot Tyson the other night. Is it true that you were telling him a secret?
Tuck: I don't know what you're talking about, Mia.
Mia: You do know what the fuck you talking about! *stands up and points the gun at him* You stole it for me, and you have been with Cheyenne and Freddie for this whole fucking time. Why...why would you do that?
Tuck: *hearing*
Mia: Say something, asshole!
Tuck: I would've hurt your feelings; I took your song away from you, and Tyson stole my CD, which I owe!
Mia: You gave me the song! That's my shit; I knew you were ruining my dream.
Tuck: Why should I? Why would you ask yourself?
Mia: Maybe because of this bitch, Cheyenne has a right to tell you to do so?
Tuck: *hearing*
Mia: Of course, you were lied to this whole time. Kevin told me another thing: you've been working with them for years without telling me.
Tuck: No one believed you while you were enduring this nonsense motherfucker. It seems that nobody cares about you; this place belongs to them.
Mia: Who are they?
Tuck: Freddie and Cheyenne. They will detract from your friendships and academic performance; you risk remaining here until your money is exhausted.
Mia: *laughs softly* Exhausted? No, I'm not. You are playing like a fake ass villain. That's the truth. What are you saying after you stabbed Tyson in the back? You know what? I was in the whole circle, and nothing in my life is to be feared. So, fuck you.
Tuck: If you do this shit, what if it makes you think that your family, your friends, your boyfriend would not trust you again? Pretty girl like you.
Mia: *still pointing*
Tuck: *grabs her*
Mia: *grunts while holding him and hitting his stomach with his balls*
Tuck: *grunts*
Mia: *punching him hardly*
Tuck: *grunts and moves back and grabs her again*
Mia: *holding him to the floor with him while grabbing him back*
Tuck: *tried to attack her*
Mia: *shoots his stomach*
Tuck: *grunts and falls to the floor*
Mia: *stands up*
Tuck: *grunts loudly* You fucking shot me!
Mia: I thought you gonna fucking kill me?!
Tuck: *grunts while breathing heavily*
Mia: *shoots his stomach four times*
Tuck: *dead*
Mia: *looks at him and looks around* FUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!
Mia rushes out of the apartment, hops into the car, and drives to the nightclub. Meanwhile, Freddie secretly watches her with binoculars before he sends a text to Cheyenne.
