*September - New York City*

Mia woke up in the morning when she had a class in Literature she was dressed up in a black fur coat until she walked out of the dorm houses.

She freshens up when she is on the way to the class right after getting the coffee. She entered the building with Literature class as she was taking a seat when she saw Kevin sitting to the right when she sat on the left way. She was going to confront him right after class. The literature professor's name is, Nathan. As he walked into the class he was giving them for the next assignment.

After class, she walks up to Kevin right in front of him at the desk.

Mia: I think you were great when you protected your family like when you did in there. But it's still great. You should come with me to the cafeteria and talk about what is going on in your life. Which is my long story to come.

Kevin: OK...? Why are you asking some personal questions about my policy? I ain't gotten a problem with you for being my business or my mother's case.

Mia: To be clear, I ain't forcing you to be punished. I just came here to talk so I won't be saying anything. I just saw you were walking with your mom and I've heard this shit happens. This is my first year, I am a popular high school.

Kevin: Oh, now I see. You can come over here and mess me around?

Mia: I'm not fucking you around. I had the same energy from back in the day. So, cafeteria?

Kevin: *nods*

In the cafeteria, Mia and Kevin sat at the table when she was giving him advice on how to fix his mom's proof when he was thinking about his mother is going to be found guilty as Mia protecting him from being not guilty as a charge.

Mia: Where are you from? It seems like you're a natural.

Kevin: Queens.

Mia: I've read the book for the list of states in New York. Like honesty, your family will be fucking proud of you when you are gonna get a scholarship. It's hard to believe that you can go on when you talk to your mom for the last time when you have enough time to make establishment with your mom.

Kevin: Sure as hell when my best friend is birthday tonight at the bowling and tomorrow, I gotta get out there into the courtroom and show my mom's results. I'd just...need some results when it comes to my mom being free after this.

Mia: What happens if your mom is sentenced to death, what do you do?

Kevin: ...I don't know.

Mia: I must guarantee you, I can help you out without a lot of warning. I'm counting on it. Even though you're gonna survive in this place until you graduate, I kinda agree when I've surely been captured by one of the criminals to see who committed for Queenpins. God, I need a partner.

Kevin: What if you are going to be my partner? This ain't my count, it's yours. You're the one who said that you were going to help me, right? 

Mia: Are you down for it or what? Cause if we don't, I gotta get the fuck outta here by myself.

Kevin: I'm offering you. Do you have any charmed for me?

Mia: Do I look like I can give you a prize to you? Kevin Lowell?

Kevin: What's yours?

Mia: Mia Clarke.

Later, Mia walks back to the dorm house she enters the dorm room with Claire as she sees her doing her homework when she already ignores her, Claire isn't interested in her right now and she sitting on the bed. When she is looking out the window to see the view of the city.

Later that night, Mia prepared to go bowling after she got a message from Kevin when he asked her to go. She is wearing the same outfit and now she's collecting her stuff with her bag and told Claire that she is leaving.

Mia: I'm going to the bowling.

Claire: Be careful when you go out there.

Mia: Thanks. *smiles a bit and leaves*

Mia went to bowling. She entered the building to meet up with Kevin once again she walked over to him and they met each other again. Kevin wants her to come around to meet his friends because she doesn't know that he has a lot of friends around here. Somehow, his friend's name is Joselyn, who turns 20th birthday today. For some reason, some of his friends see Kevin and Mia they are surprised when Kevin shows up at the birthday party room.

Kevin: Guys, meet my new friend, Mia. She's from Oregon. A popular girl. She doesn't wanna miss it out on y'all.

Aurora: What's up, girl? I'm surprised you were being popular. But sometimes I do.

Mia: I can make it deal with you at the moment. I'm Mia.

Aurora: Aurora. *doing her handshake*

Mia: *doing the same*

Aurora: This is Percy, Joselyn, Thomas, Tyson, and Kira.

Mia: To be honest, I just met Tyson and Kira. They just mentioned me before.

Aurora: Oh OK. I doubt that. Listen, Joselyn's birthday is today.

Mia: Happy birthday!

Joselyn: Thanks! Is this your second year of college?

Mia: Freshman.

Joselyn: Welcome to New York, Mia.

Mia: *smiles*

Aurora: Plus, we didn't start playing the bowl yet and realized that if you want to play with us? It's your call.

Mia: Hell yeah, I ain't got nothing else to do tonight.

Mia and the gang prepared to play the bowling for one game once they finished with number 5, they took a break to get some pizza and were sent to the birthday party room. They have all the scores so far:

Mia - 19
Kevin - 26
Aurora - 38
Kira - 30
Percy - 11
Joselyn - 27
Thomas - 22

Once the rest of them headed back to the birthday party room to take a break to get some energy whenever they had some pizza and drink while everyone was talking to each other.

Mia: Percy, maybe you should throw the ball better because we only have five more bowls to go to make the final score.

Percy: I tried. I already know how to do this shit right. The bowl made me look like a fool.

Mia: The bowl is not made you a fool. It's just a game. This is how the game feels.

Percy: Your right. You should learn how to do something perfectly.

Mia: *nods*

Kira: Are you sure you're gonna handle the final case for your mother's trial tomorrow?

Kevin: I should. I don't want my mom to die in prison. She doesn't wanna belong to die in this crazy house.

Kira: You got this one. Focused on your mom but don't freaking stressed out.

Kevin: I wasn't a reason to set my mom up like that I was trying to do the right thing after all this shit happened to my mom.

Kira: *hugs him*

Kevin: *hugs her back softly*

Meanwhile, Claire leaves the building when she's taking a quick walk to the park she recognizes her Literature professor, Nathan. He was standing right in front of the man and having a confront about the secret thing while Claire stopped walking for a minute. She tried to confront him before the man pulled out the silencer gun and killed Nathan right in front of Claire.

Claire: *covers her mouth and is shocked*

Man: *wearing the hat and couldn't see the face while looking at Claire*

Claire: *being nervous while covering her mouth*

Man: *puts the gun away and starts walking away*

Claire: *goes to Nathan's dead body*

Nathan: *dead*

Claire: *touching him and sees his gunshot wound on the chest two times until she runs away*

*At the bowling*

Mia: You know, Joselyn? I feel sorry about the last place but it seems you have enough to celebrate your party.

Joselyn: Less than a loser even when I'm throwing the bowl. Somehow, things were pretty too damn good.

Mia: Listen guys, I gotta go for the night. Kevin, good luck tomorrow, and, Joselyn happy birthday! *leaving*

Joselyn: Thank you.

Mia: *leaving*

Tyson: Damn, I gotta get back to work tomorrow as well. Pretty much as good luck in the final case, brotha.

Kevin: No doubt.

The next day, Kevin went to the courtroom as soon as he could hear the verdict on how to find out to make his mother's decision. He saw his mother getting up from the seat right next to the attorney while Mia walked inside the courtroom quietly as she also wanted to hear the verdict she still wanted to help him out. Meaningless, his mother didn't commit the crime because she was found not guilty as she knew it was coming that Kevin would make her proud after his mother was him to stay focused on school. Mia had the same reaction when Kevin's mom was found not guilty and she walked out until Kevin gave his mom a hug when they celebrated for a moment.

Once Mia came back to the dorm to check on Claire to make sure she was doing pretty well but unfortunately, she vomited up a few times after she saw the scene where Nathan got killed right in front of her. She didn't see the dead body before, she didn't take out his body when she was nervous about it she didn't wanna look at the dead body anymore. When Mia is throwing up at the bathroom and sees Claire coming out of the bathroom and sits on the chair when she is checking on her.

Mia: *sees Claire break down* Claire, what's wrong?

Claire: I-I-I just seen the dead body...at the park...

Mia: Who is it? *hearing the message from the phone and reading the text*

Kira: *text Mia* TURN ON THE NEWS NOW!

Mia: *turning on the TV and watching breaking news about Professor Nathan until she was shocked*

Claire: *breakdown and looking at Mia* I just saw what happened last night.

Mia: *looks at her*
