EIGHTEEN
"THANOS FOUND THE SOUL STONE ON VORMIR." Nebula stood before the group this time, they had cleared the table of food and now were sitting in armchairs around the room.
Nat lifted her head from looking down at the page she was writing on, "What is Vormir?"
"A dominion of death, at the very centre of Celestial existence. It's where... Thanos murdered my sister."
The room fell silent except for the scratch of Nat's pen on her paper, writing down what Nebula had said.
Scott coughed, breaking the silence, "Not it."

Bronwen sat against the wall.
She was once more inside the room where her old suit was hanging in. The room was bare, white walls, white floor, white ceiling. One of the rooms they had no use for except for storage.
She never told Tony face to face that she wore the suit that day, even though he would've seen it. Morgan never knew of its existence too, and if her younger sister did, she would've begged to try it on.
Little Morgan was always finding things to try on, their father's Iron Man helmet, clothes and shoes of Bronwen's, and almost anything of their mothers. The little girl loved to dress up and play hero.
But sitting there, across from the suit, Bronwen couldn't help but want to put the material on once again. It was perfect, something small, flimsy, but in some way it helped her channel her power in a way she never had before. The suit was like magic.
She just...
She just wished Peter were here. If he was, if he had been for the past five years, she would have forced him to run away with her. Forget their problems, live somewhere in Europe. Free of responsibility, free of the ties they had in America, free of their past. Running away would give them a fresh start, something they would have needed after those events five years ago.
Bronwen whispered, "I'll find you."
"Whatever it takes, I'll find you."
And with that, and the shouts of a meeting in the background, Bronwen jumped up and ripped the suit down from its hanger.

Bronwen bounced on her toes as, after a debriefing on what would be happening on their missions, they had all been given their own quantum suits, slipping over their usual attire.
Steve paused the group as they ascended the steps and took their places with their groups. Bronwen had been placed with Rhodey and Nebula, as she was considered their compass to find the Power stone. Tony was going with Steve, Bruce and Scott to 2012, retrieving the Mind, Space and Time Stones. Rocket and Thor we're going to 2013, getting the Reality Stone.
"Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... we lost family... we lost a part of ourselves," Steve said, "Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful, look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win." Steve glanced over at Tony, "Whatever it takes. Good luck."
Rocket made a face, "He's pretty good at that."
"Right?" Scott grinned.
"All right. You heard the man." Tony nodded to Bruce, who was behind the console, "Stroke those keys, jolly green."
"Tractors engaged." Bruce pressed buttons and joined them on the platform.
Bronwen looked across the platform and smiled, not listening to the others' conversations, "See you soon."
"Be safe." Tony replied, his tone serious.
Bronwen bounced on her feet, excited, "When am I not?"
Nat held Bronwen's hand, looking at the rest, "See you in a minute."
Simultaneously, the group pressed their helmets on and shrunk, the void opening up beneath them.
Bronwen was able to focus more on where she was going that second time, and the colours of the Quantum Realm were spectacular. Brilliant blues and blacks and whites all swirling together to create the tunnels that each group would advance through. She wouldn't dare to dance, to muck around as her group diverged off from the rest.
Within the minute, Bronwen had her two feet planted on solid ground. She sighed.
Time to get to work.

"Alright, bring it down low. Right on that line." Rhodey was on the ground of the planet they had landed on, Morag, Nebula said it was called. They were separating the smaller pod from the bigger ship, just in case of emergencies. "That's it. Down, down..."
Bronwen herself had teleported from the inside of the bigger ship to the planets surface, and looked over to Nebula, having walked out of the shop, directing it to the next location the other half of their group would be going to. Bronwen asked, "How are we breathing?"
"It's better not to question that until it's gone." The blue-skinned lady replied.
Before Bronwen knew it, Rhodey was hugging Nat and saying his farewell.
It's not like they'd see them within the next ten minutes again.
But anyway, Bronwen walked over to the red-head, wrapping her arms around the woman. Their Quantum Realm suits had retracted to their bracelets around their wrists, Bronwen's suit showing through.
"Be safe, alright?" Bronwen whispered.
"Of course." The pair pulled back, and Nat looked directly into Bronwen's eyes, "I'll see you soon, okay? I'll always see you soon."
"Okay."
Clint made a small finger salute before the pair walked back into the ship, Rhodey exchanging small world with the former.
Bronwen watched with a stomach full of butterflies as she was left behind on the foreign planet, the pair taking the ship with them as they travelled to Vormir.
"The coordinates from a Vormir are laid in. All they have to do is not fall out." Nebula said.
Bronwen looked between the pair, "Okay so, uh, how is this going to work? Are we going to wait for Quill or are we using the human compass?"
Nebula lifted Bronwen's arm, pointing it in different directions, spinning the blonde around until the glow was brightest. Bronwen hissed, feeling the pull of the stone.
Rhodey's brows raised, "Is that it?"
Bronwen shrugged, "Seems so..."
"We need cover. We're not the only ones in 2014 looking for the stones." Nebula began to move, but Rhodey stopped her as he asked:
"Wait a minute, what are you talking about right now? Who else is looking for these stones?"
"My father, my sister... and me."
"And you? Where are you right now?"
Nebula shrugged, as if that answer would suffice.
Bronwen huffed, "You know, this is great. Just great. I'm currently being brainwashed for the millionth time on planet earth a million or so lightyears away, under the watchful eye of Thanos's cronies, and now, there's a more powerful version of me right here who's been through some shit and Thanos could find me any second and just..." Bronwen made a finger gun and pointed it toward Rhodey, making the 'poof' sound effect as she pretends to shoot it, "Vaporise us out of existence."
"Let's move." Nebula pulled Bronwen along, following the glow of Bronwen's scar until the otter decided to rip her hand out of Nebula's grasp and walk herself, making sure not to trip over the rough terrain.
The planet was desolate, a jaggard landscape right out of a dystopian movie. Small creatures scurried out of the minimal underbrush as they walked. Bronwen almost tripped over multiple times, only for Rhodey to catch her before she fell.
And sooner than she realised, they stood before a large door. Her scar was bright, and pulsed with power.
"So this is it." Rhodey said.
"Yeah..." Bronwen, feeling more energised than ever, held her glowing hand up and blew the doors inward.
Nebula looked over at the girl, "Looks like we didn't need Quill after all."
Another chapter done! I know I keep saying this but we are like, three to four chapters until the end of this book. My lord this has been a journey, and I know even from the TRAILERS that Far From Home will be a challenge (the love thing between MJ and Peter is GOING and I WILL do something about that. Let's see how I go...) I get more and more nervous each chapter I put up on this; and Far From Home is coming out so as soon as I've seen the new movie I will be posting the next book, with the Author's Nite and Cast and Playlist and all that pizazz. I just can't think of the title until I see the movie.
You know what I mean?
Okay so rant over, see you soon!
