Chapter 2

Constantin was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he had found her. His mate. Goddess, she was beautiful in his eyes. He couldn't tear his eyes from her when he saw her up there. His inside twisted and pulled. His heart called out to hers. His wolf howled in his head and he couldn't be more mesmerized at how beautiful she was. Tiny little thing but absolutely stunning. She had a certain aura around her—it was powerful. She held herself up with a lot of grace.

Then he came back to reality. His mind snapped at him for wanting to give into the bond when he knew he clearly didn't deserve her. He didn't deserve anyone. He was beaten up to the point where he had no sense of dignity in him.

He was a coward.

Hardening his jaw, he released his frustration on the man in front of him, beating him up with hard strikes as he put in all his emotions in just those few hits. Glancing back up at the stand he saw that she was missing. His eyes darted around quickly in that few seconds he had free from his opponent to find her sitting with his Alpha.

Viktor.

Even that assholes name churned his insides, burned vehemence inside his chest where it spread like a raging fire.

After the fight, Constantin's body was tense with apprehension. His mind flickering back to her. Cleaning up the blood on his knuckles his body tensed the moment he felt her presence in the room.

The damn woman was in a room full of half naked men. He wanted to throttle her and at the same time gouge the eyes out of every man who laid eyes on her. He refused to turn around, but he felt her moving closer. It was like the burning sensation on his back grew with each step.

Finally, he conceded and turned around to look at his beautiful mate. Her soft violet colored eyes that held so much comprehension that her small heart-shaped face clearly contradicted. She had a small pointy chin as cute as her little nose where he had the sudden urge to pinch. He wondered if she will scrunch up her face or punch him. Judging by how she carried herself he guessed she might punch him. The thought almost made him smiled for the first time in months before he quickly caught himself.

She was perfect—too perfect for him.

"Mine." She whispered in that sultry musical voice of hers and goddess help Constantin because it tugged at his heart immediately each time she spoke.

It was a little scary how fast he had this hold on her. He knew the bond was fast at work and god the years of time being apart—this felt like an adrenaline rush that he never wanted to come down from. It was the first time in a long time he felt something like this and refused to hold any kind of hope but damn his yearning. He wanted—no he needed her.

He knew he needed to get rid of her. He wrote on her hand trying his hardest to ignore what that simple touch did to his very soul. He swallowed hard as he wrote down what he couldn't voice with his voice.

Surprisingly, his tiny little mate's eyes blazed with a stubbornness that he was surprised a tiny little body like hers can hold. She proceeded to amaze him even more by signing right in the air. She could sign. He was completely awestruck. His heart burned in his chest for her, literally begging to jump into her arms.

Obviously, the rejection didn't go as he planned because he was in an unknown place and not willingly he might add. He slowly stirred awake and found that he was completely bound tight around his torso and legs with ropes that even a grown ass wolf couldn't break through.

A frustrated sound came from his throat as he struggled to remove himself from the binding. His eyes slowly opened as he looked around at his surroundings. He tried to remember exactly what happened but all he knew was when he was walking out of the resting room for the fighters once his mate had left he instantly felt a prickle on his back before blackness overtook him. He wasn't an idiot. He knew he was drugged.

His ears perked up when he heard voices outside the door of the room he was now bound in.

"I can't believe it, Nat. You just kidnapped your mate." Beta Yulian's voice came from the hallway.

"You know as well as I do he wouldn't come willingly." His mate's softly spoken voice came on the other end and he licked his lips as he strained his ears to hear her. A pounding headache was a side affect from the drug she shot in the back of his neck.

"So what? We kidnap?" Beta Yulian questioned.

"Don't judge me, Yulian! You men do it all the time. Why can't I?" She snarled angrily and Constantin had to bite the inside of cheek to stop himself from smiling at her comeback.

He heard Beta Yulian's frustrated sigh. "I'm not saying that. All I am saying is that when that man behind that door wakes up he is going to flip out."

His mate scoffed. "He is bound tight with ropes. If anything he should be afraid of what I will do to him."

He could hear her smile in that comment and gut clenched. Goddess, his mate was going to drive him insane. He already knew it before the door slowly opened and she walked in wearing black yoga pants and a plain dark red t-shirt. Her long black hair now tied up into a loose bun on her head. He watched her as she approached him. She didn't walk with confidence but instead almost hesitantly.

No! He didn't want her to be afraid of him.

Goddess but he also didn't want to encourage her.

He growled and tore his gaze away from her. His wolf whimpered in his head but he refused to give in. He felt the bed shift underneath him and knew she was now on the bed. He clenched his hands to remind him to not go all caveman on her.

He turned back to her when she didn't speak up. She was sitting with her legs crossed and her arms neatly folded in her lap. Her soft violet colored eyes staring at him with curiosity.

"I thought you were dead." She whispered after a long silence of them staring at each other.

"You are supposed to be dead." She looked away from him and out the window.

Constantin didn't understand what she meant. He couldn't say anything and his hands were bound and so he allowed her to talk.

"I don't know how I feel about this." She admitted and her eyes flashed with uncertainty. His heart twisted in his chest, like someone reached in and squeezed it with no mercy. He clenched his jaw and his fingers dug into the skin of his palm.

"I'm sorry I captured you." She said again. "I knew you wouldn't come and I-I-"

She stopped talking and Constantin looked back up at her as if he was urging her to continue but she didn't. She sighed and scooted closer to his body. Her legs almost brushing up against his thighs. Her intoxicating saccharine scent wrapped around him like a numbing fog.

"If I let you go, will you run away?" She asked Constantin.

He wanted to laugh. His mind told him to run away as far as he can to stop the bond from getting any stronger and to stop his heartache but a part of him wanted so much more. He wanted to lock her in this room forever. Keep her all to himself.

When he didn't answer. She assumed he wasn't agreeing. She gave a short soft laugh before she shrugged in front of Constantin.

"Well until I can trust you, you are going to remain bound-"

He shook his head immediately. She narrowed her eyes at him.

"You want me to let you go?" She asked.

He nodded.

"Will you run away from me?"

Never.

He hesitated before nodding. She saw it but after thinking for a while she reached for a knife that was in her table and began cutting through the thick rope.

"Even if you plan on running away, I wouldn't mind the chase." She replied with nonchalance. He would've smiled at the thought of her tiny form chasing after his large form. She wouldn't be able to catch him. He had been running all his life.

Once the rope was completely off, he moved his limbs to rid of any muscles aches before he sat and stared at her again. She looked so innocent, his little mate.

"Are you hungry?" She asked.

Constantin didn't answer. He continued to be captivated at her beauty. She had so many facial expressions it was a little amusing to look at. When she founded her eyes changed color slightly to almost a hazy violet like an unpluck plum.

"Answer me or I will-will torture you." She growled impatiently.

His eyes widened at her threat before his lip twitched slightly. He caught himself though. She was entertaining. She didn't seem too confident in her threat.

"Don't think I can't do it." She lifted her chin defiantly while looking down at him from underneath her eyelashes.

He made a scoffing sound before turning away from her. She snarled before pinching his cheek hard. He let out a sound of surprise pain. Her tiny fingers were a force to be reckoned with. He couldn't believe such a tiny little body can bring in such pain in just one small pinch.

He signed into the air almost frantically as he grimaced in pain.

Fine, let me go!

She smirked her happiness before releasing. Her eyes lighting up with victory. "I win."

She hopped off the large bed and grabbed a hold of his right hand before leading him out of the bedroom.
