Matthew was a born leader. He knew that much. He was ready to lead and to rule. Once he found the right person to stand beside him, that is.

It took a great deal of persuading and bickering with his father to get him to even warm up to such an idea.

Eventually, he succeeded, and his father, the devil himself, granted him 30 years on Earth. The time flowed a bit differently in hell and that would be just enough time to experience everything he wanted to on the Earth and still not waste too many years before becoming the Inferno's new ruler.

Because he wanted to truly experience everything like a human, the deal was that Matthew would be reborn without memories and adopted into some rich man's family. (Why not make sure he can afford anything and everything he wants to after all.)

He would slowly regain his memories as his time on Earth came closer to an end. And then he would finally return to his true home, hell, and take his rightful place on its throne, his birthright.

The deal was simple and everything he wished for. Although, his father added a condition that one of the demons had to come with him. With no other option, Matthew agreed and they chose a young female warrior demon, Jiwoo. She was close to Matthew's age, a few years younger, but they befriended each other all the same. And she was by far the most skilled and resourceful demon out of the bunch. And so she was chosen to accompany the young prince of hell.

And the plan took action.

Matthew and Jiwoo started their life from scratch as two ordinary humans.
