Somin placed her books on her desk and sat down.

"Hey," she greeted Taehyung, her best friend, who was resting in the chair behind her. He absentmindedly nodded at her and continued to listen to the music coming from his headphones. She watched the two new students walk in and choose their seats in the back of the class.

She pushed Taehyung's arm to get his attention. His head almost fell on the desk. "What the hell?!" He angrily took off his headphones and glared at her.

"Good morning to you too." He rolled his eyes at that remark.

"What do you want?" He asked while putting his headphones back inside his bag seeing no use anymore, class was about to start anyways.

"What do you think about the new students?" Taehyung turned to the back of the class following Soomin's gaze.

He barely saw the two new students -  Matthew and Jiwoo -  as they were surrounded by everyone. The rest of their classmates were attracted to them like bees to honey and everyone was trying to befriend them.

Taehyung managed to notice the girl's designer bag and the boy's expensive sneaker.

He turned back to Somin. "More rich spoiled kids that everyone will suck up to," he shrugged. "Just great," he mumbled to himself.

Somin titled her head thinking about his words. "Maybe... They are extremely hot tho. But who  knows they actually might be nice?"

Taehyung spared another glance their way, seeing the boy fakely smiling to the girls asking him questions and touching his biceps. "Doubt it," he concluded as the teacher walked into the classroom.

At the lunch break, Taehyung rushed to reach Somin so they could go to the cafeteria together. They joked a bit while picking their lunches and talked about school work while going to their regular table. A few seconds after they sat down another two persons joined them.

"Hi guys!"

"Uhhhh..." Somin and Taehyung stared at them. "Why... are you sitting here?" Somin asked them.

"Oh can't we? I just thought we should get to know each other," he extended his hand to Taehyung first, "I'm Matthew!"

"Joseph."

"Oh, are you from America as well?" Matthew asked.

"No," Joseph curtly answered and started eating his lunch.

"And you are?" Matthew turned to Somin, undeterred.

"Jeon Somin," she shook his hand and smiled. "And his name is actually Kim Taehyung."

"Like that idol?"  the other girl asked. "I'm Jeon Jiwoo by the way," she told them, but it came across as a bit cold.

"Okay..." Somin worded out and with no help from her best friend decided to follow his lead and start eating her lunch.

"So how long have you two been dating?" Matthew casually asked after he also started to eat his lunch.

Somin blushed slightly and Taehyung almost chocked on his food. He loudly coughed and drank his water.

"We're not in a relationship," Somin explained. "We're friends."

"Oh," Matthew wasn't sure what to say and Jiwoo rolled her eyes at his actions. She stepped on his foot underneath the table. "Ouch!"

"We're sorry, he shouldn't ask such stupid stuff. People always ask us the same thing and it gets really annoying, so I apologize for him," she told them.

"Hey, I'm sorry too, I didn't mean it in a bad way," he defended.

Somin smiled, assuring them it was okay. Draining his water, Taehyung chimed in. "Actually, we sorta tried dating. But it just felt like something was missing you know? So we decided to continue being just friends."

"That's cool," the other boy nodded. "Makes sense, I know that feeling of something missing in a relationship."

"How about we talk about something lighter?" Somin suggested and everybody agreed with her, finding each other's company quite pleasant.

In the end, they agreed to spend the lunch the next day as well.
