"I don't know where I am
I don't know this place
Don't recognize anybody
Just the same old empty face
See these people they lie
And I don't know who to believe anymore."

Just a Game by Birdy.

Daenerys awoke from her slumber in her chambers, an array of silks and satins scattered around leading out to her balcony. She moved from her bed, and let his fingers trace the ledge of the balcony, looking out to Valyria.

Valyria was beautiful and mystical within its own right, and had many elements to it that Daenerys loved; it had the gorgeous harbour filled with ships she once would take into battle all those thousands of years ago left untouched; beautiful fields enriched with the finest grains the world of Westeros had to offer; mountains that once held dragons that would lead the Targaryen's into battle.

It was mesmeric - and it was her home.

It reminded her of her brothers, her family, her dynasty. All of it together reminded her of all the people she'd lost over the years; Rhaegar, Viserys, Drogo, Barristan, Jorah and Jon. All the men in her life were gone except for Darrio, who she knew had despised her since her first voyage to Westeros.

It was all gone, all of it.

She moved from the balcony and was dressed as usual by Missandei in a blue gown detailed with intricate silver beading and her hair braided like a crown across her head as the rest of her silver tresses flooded down her back.

"I'm sorry for my harsh wording last evening," Daenerys spoke into the piercing silence to Missandei who was daintily applying a pale pink paint to her lips, "it was unjust, and once I become unjust I lose myself and all I stand for,"

Missandei smiled at her Queen, "your grace, your words were your own," she spoke thoughtfully, "for me and Darrio cannot force you to the modern lands,"

Daenerys smiled slightly this time, and stood once she was ready and began to descend to the throne room where she instantly spotted Darrio laid helplessly in a pool of his own crimson blood, an arrow through his shoulder and waist.

She hurried over to him, falling to her knees at his side and ripping apart her dress, applying the material over the wounds with pressure. As she removed the arrows, she noticed some writing she didn't recognise.

S.H.I.E.L.D

She didn't recognise those letters, and continued to tend to a cringing Darrio who began to loose blood too fast for her liking. She was a Queen, not a nurse. She was never equipped to deal with anything like this.

She tried desperately to heal him, but remembered tearfully that her powers didn't work on other immortals, and that there was no chance in saving the man who had been her champion in more battles than she could count on one hand.

"Missandei!" She screamed, echoing throughout the castle, "come quickly!" She pleaded, as Darrio's heartbeat lessened by the second.

Missandei entered the throne room, only to be struck by a beam of bright light that knocked her from her feet and punctured through her chest.

Daenerys let out a raucous screech, running to the fallen woman's side and looking around the top of her castle walls, tending to her wounds and muttering sobs of disbelief. She couldn't see anyone, but knew whoever she was dealing with would be shocked at her abilities.

Her hands still did no work as Missandei was also an immortal, and a distressed scream erupted from the Queen's throat, sweltering tears streaming delicately down her face.

Missandei's eyes closed as a choked sob left her lips, and Dany stood walking carefully around the throne room scouting the area with caution, wiping her tears and seeing the scarlet liquid that coated the bottom of her once pure white gown.

She looked up and down, but there was simply no place she knew of to hide. She clicked her fingers together, lighting the way to see the darkness that, despite it being morning, overthrew her throne room.

She looked away from her searching to finally see the bodies together and lifeless, and she stood between them with her eyes closed, accepting that she was to die today.

"I am Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, The First of my Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Realm and Queen of the Seven Westerosi Kingdoms," she whispered to herself attempting to hold back her quaking sobs, "and today I shall die, and end my reign over the remains of Westeros and old Valyria," she finished, clenching her fists at her side and closing her eyes - defeated.

A second after, she was forcefully knocked upside the head sending her unconscious. The Avengers appeared, all in stance and Tony was the first to speak and break the looming silence.

"Not today, sweetcheeks."

The Avengers had for-filled Fury's commands, destroying Valyria that had eventually collapsed into the deep enchanting sea taking all of its wonders with it while Daenerys was still unconscious being tended to by Bruce who had just recovered from a code green.

The were all on the craft at this point, and all of their eyes were on the Queen who laid peacefully on one of the gurneys they had. They were all tired from the mission, and taking down enchantments that had protect Valyria for thousands of years was harder than anticipated.

They all appeared solemn, as they had just killed two immortals as they simply knew too much. It never got easier for them, even when it is ultimately for the greater good.

Fury came in over the intercom, "mission completed?" He asked as Clint looked from the pilots chair to Nat across from him and then the Queen herself.

"Mission completed, sir," he answered, putting the plane into autopilot and moving to sit with the others who were all gathered at the table in the middle, Thor and Steve sat silently while Bruce and Tony quietly discussed the mission. Nat simply followed Clint.

"To be honest, I'm kinda glad her eyes are closed," Tony spoke up louder than before as he was in everyone's company, "they were starting to creep me out,"

This made Fury rolls his eyes over bluetooth, "how long till your back here at base, Barton?" He asked, as Clint sat up in his chair and looked to autopilot.

"Around 40 minutes, sir," he replied, as JARVIS took over the plane with ease. The Queen remained at the back of the plane, her gown soaked in now dried blood of her oldest and dearest friends and her hair ragged and loose unlike usual.

Her skin had turned pale, and lips chapped. Natasha moved to do as Fury had wished, change her into some clothing after the blood bath that had occurred.

Darrio and Missandei themselves were guilty of treason to their Queen, whether it be from confiding secretly with the modern lands or from crimes overlooked from the years passed.

They were threats to the modern world, Missandei's enchantments and knowledge of ancient dark magic worried Fury and Darrio's savage combat skills and lack of self control also raised alarm bells in his head - they had to be eliminated, for the good of the people.

Clint and Tony sat quietly, guilty of killing the two, and knew they would have the Queen's resentment for the rest of their time together, but overlooked it nethertheless - we are here to protect people, and they had abilities beyond reprimanding.

Natasha moved the sheet from the top of the craft to ensure privacy, before stripping the unconscious Queen of the gown and dressing her in sweats and a sweater both with the SHIELD logo stitched onto them.

She undid her hair the best she could and brushed it carefully, as well as scrubbing her forearms and hands delicately stripping them of deep crimson blood.

She laid the Queen back down and descended into the craft where the others were waiting for her. She threw the drenched gown into the trash and sat, a pitying look set across her face at Daenerys' dismay.

"You know she's gonna flip her shit when she wakes up," she muttered what everyone was weary of and the other nodded, knowing that someone who could shoot fire from her hands probably wasn't going to let them off lightly for the killing of her friends, the destroying of her kingdom and for her kidnapping.

Steve spoke, a defeated look on his face.

"We know."
