Charlie, 'Charles', Swan was used to being second best to his older sister Bella. It seemed that no matter what he did, Bella was always better and Charlie was always ignored, even by his sister herself.

When the Swan twins move to Forks and find out about the supernatural world, Charles realizes that he can't - won't - continue to be second best and ignored. And with some help from a few vampires, he's going to show that he isn't inferior, and everyone's going to be sorry for doubting him.
