Chapter 4
Have you ever played the black ops zombies map five? Well you start out in the pentagon with no power. Oh and there are zombies chasing you. That's kinda how I felt, except I had no guns, this wasn't the pentagon, and I was totally freaking out!
It took me around 2minutes to get to the 10th floor. I actually wasn't ready to face what ever was on the other side of the doors, but I braced myself and kicked them open. Bad idea.
I guess these infected people are attracted to sound, because once the door hit the wall, they all went bezerk. I jumped back and slammed the door, causing myself to fall down the stairs and land badly on my back.
"Ooowww!" I rolled over and felt my back pop. It didn't feel like I broke anything, but at this point I didn't care. I needed to go somewhere else. Staying here was not a option. I reached in my pocket to grab my phone, but I came to a horrible realization. It had broken when I had fell. "No no no no!" How was I suppose to contact my friends? My family? Ugh!
I threw the remaining pieces of my phone to the wall and slid my body onto the cold stone floors. If it wasn't for the ceiling window I would be stuck in complete darkness. I need to get out of this building, and to somewhere more safe. If I was somehow able to get out of here, I would be able to maybe make it to the mall a couple miles down. There are tons of shops there, and I would probably be able to find one of those big camping bags.
I got my self off the ground and headed back down the stairs. I know that the first floor isn't a option, but the second floor may be. If I was able to get out of one of the main office windows, then I would be able to use the fire escape ladder and get down to the streets, then maybe I would be able to sneak to the mall from there. The only problem is stealth.
I slowly opened the door this time, and peaked my head in to see if there where any un wanted guests. When the coast was clear, I slid my body into the hallway, and pressed myself up against one of the walls. I waited a second before I sprinted down the hallway, and made it to the door that lead to the cubicle area.
"Wait!" There was a lady hiding under her desk monitoring for me to come over. "Please don't leave me! I can't survive by my self!"
I turned around and walked over to her. She had auburn hair, and hazel eyes. She had on a torn dress, and she was wearing green tennis shoes. "What's your name?"
"I'm Erica. I watched this whole event unfold from right here in my office. What's your name?"
"I'm Claire." I whispered. "I don't really know what is happening right now..."
"No one does Claire, but it looks like you have a plan?"
I nodded. "That would be correct. I was thinking maybe we could make it to the mall, then we could stock up on supplies there."
"That's a great idea. The fire escape ladder is actually right out the back window in the cube farm." Erica opened a drawer in her desk. "I don't have much for weapons, but I was able to get this knife. I'll let you use it." She handed me the knife and smiled. "Now let's get this show on the road!"

We opened the door, and crept into the room. It was pretty empty, and it was kinda eerie. "I don't like this," I whispered. "It's to quite."
"I agree. That's why we should keep our guard up." We snuck around the maze of cubicles, until we saw the window. It was closed and it looked like it was locked. I ran up to the window and checked it. Sure enough it was locked.
"Where's the key?" I turned around, and I only had time to scream before it got Erica.
