Chapter 6: Cruel Accident

"It's like your the Jesus of all good luck! Rub some of that on me too, will ya?!" Saki slouched against her fortuned friend and Lala seemed like she would start crying tears from stubbornness in any second. "Maybe we jinxed it somehow, and instead of all the luck coming to us it bounced off to her."

The girls were situated in their last lesson of the day: social studies. Her friends hoarded a slight resentment towards their best friend for gaining so many opportunities to become an acquittance with the sought after new students. "Not my fault why the universe is forcing them to interact with me." (Y/n) answers, looking a bit disinterested at her exercise book.

"Maybe, but you could try to be a bit more incognito." Lala chimes in, looking like she's on cloud nine.

"What's up with you, you don't like this subject." Her sister points out.

"Because I was never given a reason to like this subject....until he came in." She was sending dreamy looks towards a certain red-haired boy with arctic orbs.

"The answer for question number one is: the plans for demolishing the 'Greenpeace Park' in order to build a leisure centre, were postponed because of the amount of people that came to protest against the Greenland being build upon, since it was a home to many migrating birds and their only food source along their journey to much warmer parts. This caught the sights of the media and thus brought more attention to the public and so this brought on peaceful protests that cancelled the plan." A few of the girls were on the brink of swooning at the highly intelligent male that made a great impression with his wit during the first few minutes of class.

"He's so smart~ it's like he knows everything about everything." (Y/n) really hoped that this fangirl phase would soon be done and forgotten just so the twins could finally react like regular human beings.

"He seemed a bit pompous to me. Look at him, he doesn't even look at anyone else in the eyes. Have you noticed that?"

"Yeah, he has very beautiful eyes~" Lala was too absorbed by the red headed boy, hoping he would at one point look her way.

"I heard his name is Kaito. He's this prodigy genius that talks to very phew people." Saki leaned in and spoke to her friend mutely, "apparently he talked back to Mr Hoshi about how an answer on the board was wrong and they got into this debate and in the end, the new guy won!" If anyone had studied in the this school for long enough, they would know that Mr Hoshi was one of the strictest, stubborn and grumpy teachers there is. None had ever dared to speak back to him twice after he gave you one of the most diminishing and self esteem lowering scoldings anyone could receive. He had a true talent in belittling people, especially his students.

At this new found knowledge, (Y/n) couldn't help but feel impressed and a bit frightened towards the young man. "I could only imagine what Sir's expression must have been like." (Y/n) heard the other twin gasp and turned her way to make sure she hadn't accidentally choked on something.

"He's looking this way! He's looking this way! Do I look ok, I don't have any tangles do I?! I can't believe he finally looked at me!" (Y/n) noticed that the new student was, in fact looking their way. But it took her approximately 5 seconds to realise he's eyes weren't focused on her friend. Instead they slightly shifted towards looking at (Y/n). The girl hoped he hadn't heard what she said about him and turned her attention back to the teacher.

After a few minutes of ignoring the sensation of a gaze staring directly into her soul, her patience was diminishing with every second. The tension became so high, the (h/c) haired female was ready to shout out- "WHAT!?" - in any second, in order to relieve some frustration.

Just as she felt like her sanity was slipping, the bell rung and it stabilised her temper. "Alright, I want everyone to take their revision books and exercise books to complete their homework for Wednesday. That table go first......then that one.....then that one and then the rest of you." As the teacher excused all the students, (Y/n) takes all the equipment necessary and raced towards the door. Just as she set one foot past the door frame, it took her a second before she realised how her body was flying forward.

It became apparent to (Y/n) that the floor was making quick progression towards her face and she reflexively put her hands out to catch herself. As she hit the ground, landing painfully on her palms and knees, all her equipment spread around the cold tiles like a perfect mess. 'Not again....' she could feel embarrassment engulf her figure and knew half the class had saw her fail.

Some of the students sniggered at the clumsy disaster, a few looked at her in sympathy and the rest didn't give her a second glance. But (Y/n) knew there was something wrong with the whole scenario, she was aware that stumbling was something that happened in the first year or high school and then you learn to adapt to the point where you become invincible at tripping in your own feet, in order to survive the teenage environment. So she was almost a hundred percent sure someone had purposefully extended their foot in order to make her stagger.

"I apologise but you must learn to watch where your going." A voice spoke with a hint of harshness. (Y/n) turned herself behind to see green-blue eyes, looking down on her. At first, she thought that the slip was thanks to a coincidence and misfortune, had she not seen the flash of a smirk that stretched at the corner of his mouth and then disappeared. She frowned at him, catching up on the whole spectacle. "Well...? Aren't you going to apologise?" He spoke with impatience.

(Y/n) could only stare at the nerve of the deceiver. When it took her a while, she heard murmurs and whispers surrounding her, glaring at her reluctance to apologise. Most of the girls and a few of the boys watched her, waiting for the anticipated apology. "A-apologise?" The (h/c) haired girl couldn't believe the audacity of the red haired boy.

"You pushed into me. You could have dragged me with you." He simply spoke even though (Y/n) knew he was the one that put his foot to connect with her's on purpose. She was going to argue back but bit her tongue when she realised the disapproving looks the students around her were giving the fallen female.

"I'm sorry...." She silently spoke out and looked at the ground, vision blurred with mostly shame and her quickly diminishing pride. Suddenly, she felt a pressure on her chin and a hand forced her to look up directly at the ocean eyes behind elegant glasses. The boy's face was inches away from (Y/n)'s and a small smile played on his lips.

"I didn't quite hear that." He whispered in a low, almost rash tone. The shamed female watched as the boy's icy gaze watched her maliciously. Not wanting to stand any more of this act, she ripped herself away from his grip and gathered all the things she could from the floor.

"Get out of the way!" The twins finally managed to squeeze their way through the crowd and we're both surprised when they saw their friend on the floor in a distraught state. "(Y/n)? What's wrong?" (Y/n) simply hastily got up and rushed towards the school gates to escape her discomfiture. A bit confused, the twins ran to catch up to their friend. All the encircled class finally spread out again, leaving to go home or to their respective extra curricular activities. The red headed teen stood up and looked at the text book he had picked up.

"That was a douche move, why don't you go steal candy from a baby next time." A golden haired male wisecracked. He noticed that his friend was too distracted with the book he had in hand. "What's-? Is that the girl's text book?" The questioned boy briskly glanced at his companion and turned back to the book in hand.

"(Y/n) (L/n). Class A103." He flipped through the pages and sped read all of her writing. "Nothing much impressive...don't see what so special with this girl." The book was torn away from his hands of the thoughtful intellectual and held away by the aggravated blond.

"That's invading her privacy! Did you trip her just so you can find out something about her? You know, speech was invented for questioning not.....what you just did there!" He couldn't believe the way his friend calculated and performed. The crimson boy, disinterestingly tusked at his bothered confidant.

"You know I don't do with social interactions, I much rather gather information by myself." Ryo shook his head in obvious disapproval and began running in the direction of the owner of the text book. "......Stupid girl." Kaito mumbled to himself out of earshot.

The twins were attempting all the tricks in the book to calm the fuming and humiliated girl. "Come on (Y/n), just chill-"

"You chill!!" She snapped back, taking everything out of her bag and laying it out on the concrete. "Where is it?! I swear I had my book with me! Don't tell me I dropped it?!" She frantically double checked the already empty sack but to no avail. "That damn jerk! What's his problem?" Enraged at the actions of the new student, she balled up her fists in frustration.

"Maybe it was an accident."

"I doubt that, you should have seen him, he was ecstatic over my accident." (Y/n) rushingly packed all her things. "I can't believe I actually helped him with the Osamu gang, screw him."

"Don't take it personally, he does that to everyone." A cheeky toned voice approached from behind. The twins's mouths hung agape at the sight of they'r 'future sweetheart.' "I believe this is yours." He cheerfully shows the text book to its owner. Relief drowning out every worry and she gratefully took the lost item.

"Thank you so much! Today has been really hectic." She sticks the text book back in her sack, recollecting and realising that the word 'hectic' is an understatement of the decade to describe what happened in one single day.

"If he ever comes to bother you again come and tell me, we're pretty close so I'll talk to him. Alright angels~?" He nods his head towards the captivated sisters. This forces Lala into fantasy mode and Saki to uncontrollably stutter while still trying to retain a composed attitude. (Y/n) gives an evident sigh and had to pull the sisters by their blouses.

"Thank you, have good day." She drags the twins away to go home and waves 'bye' to her helper.

Ryo watches as she leaves and involuntarily found himself thinking back to the girl. "She should make things interesting."
