Chapter 44: Decisions

October, 1st Thursday

(Y/n) still tried to wrap her head around Ryo's ability to discover her actions before she could even execute them. "See ya in a few hours (Y/n), come on Saki, don't mope." Lala took her sister by the arm and forcibly led her out of the room before she could fully protest.

"Bye girls..." The female heard the familiar click of the door to indicate her friends' absence and announce for the mobile phone to ring. 'Right on cue...' The girl resentfully held the device in reluctance to answer the ongoing ringing, until eventually accepting the call.

"Hey (Y/n), are you doing good this morning?" The girl grunted as she recognised the artist behind the phone.

"I don't know, why don't you as Summer that?" The male slightly cringed at the intended sarcastic irony and frowned from the girl's harsh tone.

"Unless it's you, I don't care for anyone else's wellbeing." The girl bitterly huffed and clenched her hands into fists at the lacking concern over the boy's conscience.

"What do you want, I don't feel like talking to you?" Bako mordantly grunted.

"I just wanted to know you're doing alright."

"I'm fine, are we done?" She impatiently tapped her index against the surface of the nightstand, awaiting the boy's response.

"What if we're not? Are you going to hang up on me again?" (Y/n) spitefully grunted at the reminder of the consequences. "So, have you though about what you're going to do tomorrow?" Bako changed the subject and returned to the question that had been infecting his thoughts since the start.

"Yes..."

"So you'll come back." There was a tone of excitement in the boy's voice and a child-like expectancy towards his question.

"No..." The cheered atmosphere that had been emitting from the other end of the phone died out for silence to take place.

"...That's not a very good idea (Y/n), you know what will happen if you don't." The girl was grievingly reminded of what she should expect out of her reluctance. "I trust you to make the right choice, I'm so excited to have you back." The unequivocal attitude returned to the male's voice, annoying the female with his naive manners.

"I said I'm not coming back."

"I know, I know...but let's pretend that by some circumstances you do end up coming back, how would you like your room decorated?" The male giddily asked her while evidently smiling with his whole body, to show his motivated spirit.

"I'm not coming back..."

"Because we have two guest rooms but you could take the larger one: it's right next to mine and it has its own bathroom with a shower so you'll have some privacy." The girl irritably sighed, realising he wasn't listening to her.

"Bako, stop..."

"It has a good view on the garden and it's very nicely furnished, I think it might be to your taste."

"Bako no."

"Or...you could stay in my room again if you want, I won't mind sharing a bed with you-" The boy soothingly glided his vocals through to the girl's ear, causing a tingle to go through the female's spine.

"I said I'm not coming back, so you can stop keeping your hopes up." There was a disapproving exhale from the other side of the receiver.

"Then what are you going to do?"

"Anything, but what you expect me to." A small chuckle was heard from the boy.

"Alright then, amuse me and show me what you've got in store. Bye (Y/n)." The connection was ended as the male hung up on the girl.

(Y/n) gazed at the phone, weighing her chances and risks only to realise she had no true plan that would aid her in the situation.

The female was taken by the surprise from the phone ringing a second time, not too long from her last call. She gingerly picked up the vibrating device to inspect it in case it was glitching out or if it could be an alarm but was confirmed to be the call from one of the males. She hesitantly accepted the call and placed it against her ear. "H-hello...?" Out came the gentle, silk voice from the brunet boy that (Y/n) had previously encountered with.

"What?" She tried to maintain a calmer and more neutral demeanour than with the other males, feeling somewhat guilty over her outburst from the subsequent day.

"Is (Y/n) still angry at me?" The girl scrunched up her brow, labouring to figure some tact to her wording as to not trigger any unwanted reaction.

"If it helps you sleep better, I'm mad at all of you so don't think you're the odd one out." Despite her attempt of placid speech, there was an air of unassurance still emoting from beyond her line.

"I don't want (Y/n) to be angry at me, I want (Y/n) to be happy again." The girl noticed the trembling in his words, leading her to think he was in an upset state. "I want you back (Y/n), I want to show you how sorry I am, I want to know that you don't hate me." There was a hint of frantic panic from him, making the girl awkwardly rub her neck for comfort, having little courage to lie to her partner just for the empty attempt at relaxing him. "I'll make sure you like me again (Y/n), I'll make sure you're attitude towards me never changes for the worst." The girl slowly shook her head at the boy's words and regretfully looked out of the window to distract her unsure emotions. "I can't wait to see you again, this time I won't do anything that will worry you. Then you'll like me again, right (Y/n)?" The female felt as though she was talking to a small, sensitive child, causing her to scratch her head and sigh.

"Sure, whatever..."

"Thank goodness, I'll be waiting for you." She could hear the smile in the boy's voice as she was cut out from saying anything else when she was left to her lonesome once again. With a hefty inhale and exhale, she ran a hand through her messy hair and tried to relax her muscles when she felt the stress coming on her shoulders once again.

'I can't do this anymore...' She reluctantly stared at the second phone in her possession and deeply considered and thought over to take a peril with contacting someone. 'One more time...just one more time.' She took the phone in her sweating palms and gulped as her thumbs hovered over the number pad. As her mind was made up to type down the number that would hopefully contact her parents, the other mobile device required her attention as it began to ring. (Y/n) quietly cursed in her head and hung it down as she reached for the second phone. "Hello..." She blandly asked.

"Aren't you getting tired of doing this?" Ryo asked in a serious tone.

"How did you find out...?"

"What were you trying to do angel?" Ryo motionlessly avoided the girl's question and returned to the main topic.

"Nothing...just ordering pizza." (Y/n) inwardly winced as a scoff came through the speakers, sure of her unconvincing answer.

"Is that right?" The girl quietly nodded, coming to the acceptance that she was most likely being watched. "...Alright, what did you want on it?" The female raised her eyebrow in inquiry as to what he was inferring to with his question, and concluded it to be a check up on her plausibility.

"Uuhhmm...?" She quickly read out what would generally be put on a pizza, uncaring what the ingredients and toppings were.

"Sound really good, does that mean you were hungry?" The female nodded once again, indifferent with the situation, glad she had reverted from the original subject. "Don't worry, when you come back I'll force Ren and Kaito to cook up something tasty for you angel. I might try it myself, just for you. You might be quite surprised." The boy happily spoke to the girl, very contempt with having her presence known to him. "I would love to feed you again, it was so fun the first time~" Ryo longingly reminisced back to the first time he had actually spent with the girl outside the school environment, until he realised what was missing from the scene back in reality. "You're so quiet...Do you mind just saying something to me?" The female rolled her eyes but concluded it would be easier and efficient to amuse him.

"What?"

"I don't know, just anything...say my name." (Y/n) shivered at the request, looking around as though to check if there was anyone else in the room to be witness of the humiliating act.

"Ryo." The boy let a out light grunt as the female's voice poured into his senses like blissful syrup, listening intently to the tone in each letter and quietly indulging at the sound of her utterance.

"Say it again?" He innocently asked the girl with a sweetness to his own vocals.

"No!" (Y/n) cringed at the given reaction, refusing to indulge him further.

"Hahaha, ok then, I'll just have to live with what I get." The male gleefully chuckled at the girl's response, somewhat disappointed at the sound of her repulsion.

"Aren't you supposed to be in class right now?" She tried to regress away from the subject, remembering what time it was for students.

"Oh, I have my ways~" The male let out a mischievous giggle until it was cut short by the sound of a distant person, aggressively yelling in his direction. "Oops! Gotta go!" The girl was briefly cut off to fill in the blanks of what might have happened, letting her heart finally calm down its pace.

BUZZ

'It hasn't been 15 minutes yet, and they're already calling...' (Y/n) felt inconveniently overwhelmed by the number of calls she had been receiving through the morning and afternoon, to the point where she was unsure of whether to keep answering them or not. "Hello..."

"Are you safe?" Having little interest in sending the girl a quick greeting, Alex immediately spoke his mind.

"Yeah..." The female had been worn down by the previous three calls, causing her mental endurance to weaken as she took little care whether she was being obdurate.

"Are you looking after yourself?"

"Yeah..."

"Are you feeling well?"

"Yeah..."

"Are you rested?"

"Yeah..."

"Are you coming back?"

"..." The girl glared at the imaginary image of the boy, wondering if he was purposefully trying to trip her up. "Nice try..."

"What?" He seemed clueless at the comment, leading on to the realisation he unintentionally used a childish trick.

"Never mind."

"So are you coming back?" The female grunted at the question that had been repeated to her almost religiously.

"No." The girl heard a slightly inhuman, low growl from the other end of the receiver as she spoke her answer.

"Why?!" The unusual change in mood she hadn't been accustomed to seeing from Alex, took (Y/n) by surprise. "But you'll back tomorrow, I know you are." His voice was deep and assured, confident with his belief in her return.

"I'm not, I don't want to be anywhere near you guys. I just want to forget about all this..." The female curled up into her own body and tried to draw away her mind from the male's and her problems.

"I'm not going to let you leave me again, I need to keep my promise." There was a layer of determination and tenacity in the boy's speech, leading to a quivering sensation in the girl.

"I don't need you to keep it, it's the whole reason why I want to stay away from you." There was a loud clatter and a number of thuds to come from the boy's side of the phone, causing the girl to wince away from the device due to the assault on her ears. "Wha-?"

"You'll come back to me (Y/n), even if I have to drag you away from everybody else, I'll have you." His utterance was filled with warning and malevolence, clear with the seriousness of his statement and intentions. "You don't realise what I'm capable of (Y/n), you'll understand in time. You always understand me."

"I'll never...ever understand why you're doing this. To my friends or me. But I'm never going to thank you or forgive you." Stillness was the only response she received from the male. She could also hear a hefty rhythm of heavy breaths.

"I'll see you tomorrow..." Before (Y/n) could contradict his goodbye, he hung up. The female threw the phone at the floor with disregard to its fragility.

"Screw me..." The sound of a doorbell ringing, startling the teenager out of her depressed state. As she made her way to answer the door, the female started cursing in her mind, expecting to see another one of the blond's packaged gifts. However, upon answering the call with an irritable swing of the door, she was faced with a man wearing a motorcycle helmet, holding a thin, square bag in one hand, and a plastic bag in the other, containing a bottle that the girl couldn't make out. "U-uhm...? Can I help you?" The man in the safety attire seemed confused at the question and handed the plastic bag for the girl to take so as to reveal the contents in the larger, vinyl package.

"A pizza was ordered on this address ma'am." He emerged his hand with a large, carton box of the product, still steaming with warmth. The man handed the food to the baffled female and prepared to leave without further explanation.

"W-Wait, how much was this, I don't know if I can pay you?" The man shot her perplexed look before flipping on his face shield back into place and proceeding back to his motorcycle.

"It was already payed for. Enjoy." He shouted at the girl as he drove out of the sidewalk and back on the road. (Y/n) listened as the roaring of the bike very quickly faded away with its speed. She looked at the products given to her, and reluctantly retreated back into the house.

"What the hell...?" As she opened the lid of the carton box, a waft of warmth and strong ingredients hit her in the face without a warning, resulting in drools forming at her mouth. She hadn't realised how malnourished she had felt until now, and after being faced with the large pizza, the girl's stomach wouldn't stop reminding her. (Y/n) looked into the plastic bag to see a large bottle of chilled soda, finishing off her ideal plans on binging. But as she started taking note of each ingredient and topping that had been used to create the food, disgust began taking over her appetite. 'Ryo...' The female quickly closed the lid of the box and pushed it as far away as possible, along with the fizzing bottle. 'Should have expected this really...whatever, he can buy as many things as he wants, I'm not touching them...' However, as her gaze kept drifting back to the warm contents, she had then realised how the boy was skilfully playing on one of her weakest parts of her biology. The growling of her deprived stomach began tugging at her stubbornness in defeat, as she tried to last through the indulging smell of the food and even hoped she would get a call that could properly take her mind off the product. 'Wait...the phone!' She sprinted to wards the second floor of the house, fearing she would have to go through a repeat of the previous day. As she entered the room, she ducked for the phone that was ringing with life, and quickly answered it. "Hello." Out of breath and overwhelmed, she desperately hoped the person hadn't hung up before she had the chance to receive the call.

"You got me worried that you wouldn't answer on the second call." Ren's calm voice entered the female's ears, causing her to terminate every breath escaping her.

"S-second...?" She understood how critical her tardiness could be if Kaiot found out about her hesitance to answer again.

"Don't worry, I won't mention your little slip to anyone. I'm just happy that you actually picked up on me." (Y/n) could hear the happy delight in his voice and quivered in her spot. "I've been really concerned if you had made your mind up over what you're going to do for tomorrow." The girl could feel her cheeks and forehead heating up as vexation and annoyance began taking their effects on her physical form.

"Will you all stop pushing me over with tomorrow?! I'm not going to tie myself around all of you! You're all just creeps and have so little motivation for what you're doing to me!" The boy slightly cringed at the girl's harsh statement that seemed to hit a sensitive spot in his heart.

"'Creeps'..." The girl bit down on her lip when she heard the unusually relaxed and neutral tone in his voice speaking out her words. "Creeps...hehe, I guess we don't truly have an iron reason for doing this to you." (Y/n) felt slightly peeved yet glad he finally thought over his actions. "Well, that's what you think at least."

"Oh excuse me, I didn't know I was supposed to consider being held hostage, hurting my friend, harassing me and threatening me as a sign of good spirits. Boy, what an a** am I?!" The girl snatched a notepad that had been resting on the windowsill and chucked it at the wall, causing it to create a small scratch against the plaster upon contact.

"I understand why you're angry (Y/n), but believe me when I say we wouldn't be like this if you had just accepted us." The girl cared very little about the male's apologetic and sincere articulation and toughened her outer shell.

"Accept what? Alex acting like a possessive bloodhound? You pointing a gun at his head? Bako's obsessive drawings of me? Kaito's little manipulative techniques? Ryo nearly killing one of my best friends?! The only person I have even the slightest bit of patience for is Jin, and even that's going to wear off sooner or later with the way he's speaking." This seemed to stunt the boy's speech and quietly retreat after having no way in debunking her statement and knew pushing the subject would continue to aggravate her beyond the tipping point after her outburst.

"We just miss you so, so much...it's so lonely...I can't play my piano anymore, I get it wrong every single time...I want you back (Y/n)-"

"Drop dead." With the request being the only response he heard after the line cut off, she left him to have her words swirling around in his head like a buzz of bees. Ren stayed paralysed in his spot, letting the line to echo in his empty mind and scratch pieces away from his stable psyche to leave broken cracks against his better judgement.

"Drop dead..." The boy's body began to gently shake and seemed as though he would burst into tears at any second. However, instead of the salted liquid, silent, pacing chuckles issued out of the male. Growing in volume and frequency, they converted into amused laughter as he recited the girl's request in a chanting fashion in his mind. "Hahaha, that's not the symphony I want to hear from my muse. Hahahaha! Don't worry (Y/n), once I get my hands on you, you'll be singing to a different tune."

After the girl had cooled down from her confrontation with the boy, she took the mobile device down to the first floor and noticed the pizza still laying on the floor, puffing out steams of fresh warmth. 'It wouldn't hurt to just take one piece right...? The girls will be leaving school soon, then I can just leave the rest for them...' As she gazed on the delectable looking food, her stomach growled in agreement. 'I'm gonna feel disgusted with myself after this...'

(Y/n) lazily relaxed into the couch as she finished off her 5th piece of pizza, knowing she would later regret the large consumption with time. She could hear a bunch of light taps from outside and confirmed them to be raindrops against the window. As each droplet came into contact with the smooth, translucent surface, they slid down to form larger bodies as they accumulated together and hoped her friends would make it through the weather without getting effected by it's relentless chillness. 'What should I do...?' As much as (Y/n) didn't want to admit it, the girl knew the boys had a point when they asked her what actions she could take on Friday. 'I can't just give up like this, but what else can I do...?' The sound of loud vibrations began buzzing against the surface of the table, altering her of the incoming call. She picked the device up, knowing who to expect this time around from the caller. "Hello?"

"Have you been having a pleasant day so far?" The female sighed with a hinting grunt at the intentionally chirping mood in the male's tone. "The boys haven't been giving you any hassle over the subject of your return, have they?" (Y/n) could hear the sly pronunciation and felt a headache coming on as she listened to him.

"Can you guys just give me a break...?"

"You'll get a break once you're safe under our roof. I can't wait to bring you back (Y/n), it'll be such a pleasure to just see you walking right up to us." The girl was sure there was a undertone of delight in his speech and looked towards the crying sky in an attempt to calm her nerves. "So I'm guessing I'll be seeing you tomorrow."

"No." (Y/n) was further aggravated as snide snickers tested her patience.

"No? Well that's not part of the deal, then I guess I have to do something about your insubordinate behaviour." The female could feel her gums aching as she tightly clenched her jaw shut, worried that she might say something to strike the boy. "You're very quiet. Did I say something to make you think so hard?" Amused sarcasm began messing with the girl's emotions.

"Why are you doing this to me? What do you want from me?" Kaito sighed at the girl's iterative inquiring.

"I want you back (Y/n). That's all I ever desired."

"But why?! What the hell do I have to offer you?"

"...You talk too much, you know that? Why don't you just be a good girl and do as I say?"

"Screw what you say, you don't own me." The female felt a growl coming along when she heard the boy's laughter bursting through the speakers.

"Hahaha! Alright then, be resilient. I like a challenge, let's see how you handle tomorrow then. I'll make sure the others don't bother you for today so you can think in peace. Goodbye~" (Y/n) shut the phone off, sensing another round of exasperating chuckles coming her way.

'Damn you Kaito...'

Kaito chuckled to himself, after placing the phone back in his pocket. 'You still think you don't belong to anyone? What a stupid, naive girl you are. Let's see how long it'll take to break that stubborn spirit.' He proceeded to makes his way through the halls, a self indulged smile adorning his face, as he beguilingly hummed to himself with delight.
