Chapter 38: Truth
(Y/n)'s eyes trailed up the arm of the weapon holder to look into the dark, infuriated eyes of the constituted musician. "R-Ren, what are you doing?!" Alex looked back and seemed unfazed by the sight of the armed male.
"(Y/n), step aside. I'm not aiming for you." His expression changed into his trademark kind one as he looked at the female but switched back as his concentration drifted back to the other boy. "You've got some nerve trying to undermine us like that Alex. But I'm sorry, I've been patient with this whole plan and restricted myself way too much to just let you have her." He pointed the weapon at the male who simply gave him a straight-faced reaction.
"P-plan...? What plan? Has this all been because of you...?" The boys didn't reply to the question, leaving the silence to explain the situation. (Y/n) could barely comprehend the situation, and continued to dart her attention from either boy as the two stared each other down.
"(Y/n), move aside." The female noticed the dark raven pointing the weapon towards Alex, in deep contemplation whether to put pressure on the trigger.
"W-what are you doing?! Where did you get that?!" (Y/n) quickly stood in front of the endangered boy, causing Ren to glare. "Stop! What's wrong with you?!"
"(Y/n), move. I don't want to hurt you." The female reluctantly shook her head but was pulled aside by the person behind her. Alex kept a hold of her from a distance, making sure she was nowhere in range of the gun.
"Alex, let me go! Ren, just calm down. Think about what you're doing." (Y/n) tried to break out of the boy's hold but he stubbornly held her to the side by her arm.
"I've had enough...I try to get close to you and in the end someone else gets you. You reject me and I try to be patient with you. You run to someone else and I try to be patient with you. You finally start to yield to us and then Alex tries to take you." The male carefully watched the animal lover, analysing any sudden movements he might make.
"What's gotten into all of you?! Ren, stop it, please!" The dark haired boy seemed to be stirred by the her words and contemplated over lowering the weapon. As his gaze fluctuated between the girl and the boy, his finger was held still at the trigger.
What finally put the nail in the coffin over his decision was when a hand reached out from behind him and gently pushed his hold down. "That's enough man, you remember what we agreed to." Ryo appeared onto the scene and scanned the room to see Alex, who visibly relaxed when the danger had passed and the panicked appearance of the girl.
"R-Ryo...?" (Y/n)'s brain couldn't comprehend the new and unexpected information and as she noticed the boys were all distracted, she took the chance to dash out of the room.
Ryo sighed at the trouble this could cause and the failure of their schemes. "Well, that's that with the plan..."
(Y/n)'s lungs could barely keep up with her running speed as she neared the stairs to the ground floor. Just as she set foot on the first stair, a figure appeared to obstruct her way. "(Y/n)? What's wrong? There was a lot of noise coming from upstairs." Kaito took note of the female's distressed state and started to put together what might have happened.
"K-Kaiot...the guys have gone insane. A-Alex is acting crazy, Ren just tried to kill someone and Ryo is too accepting of...K-Kaito?" The boy took a moment to think over what to do or how he should explain the situation. So he suspired heavily and ran a hand through his hair, damning the position he was put in. "Kaito...?"
"You shouldn't have seen this." (Y/n) looked at him in confusion and slowly caught on to the genuine meaning behind his words, all last traces of doubt and hope were diminished as he sympathetically glared at her. The female darted downward towards the ground floor, ready to escape the intoxicating building, when another obstacle came into view.
"(Y-Y/n)? Why do you look so scared?" Jin took a step towards the girl, causing her to take a step in the opposite direction. All previous trust seemed so insignificant at that point, and everything seemed to be moving at such speed it started derailing within her mind. (Y/n) dashed back up the stairs in a panicked stupor, letting her instincts take over logical reasoning. "(Y/n)?! Kaito, what happened?" The male in question glanced down at his friend to only groun out a sigh.
"Right now, she's like a deer caught in headlights..."
The female avoided the corridor leading to Ryo's room, afraid of confronting the three people in it, but as she continued running, Bako came into view, causing her to skid to a stop a few feet away. "(Y/n), what's wrong-? Hey!" (Y/n) quickly entered the closest room to her and shut the door, not taking the time to notice she had intruded on the azure male's chambers. Her eyes fixated on the door, preparing for anyone to enter as she quickly backed away, disinterested as to what direction she was retreating at. Just as the alarmed girl began feeling a panic attack coming along, she hit a rough surface in her alert state. (Y/n) looked back to see the wardrobe shake from the impact and had to catch it before it tipped over. However, her support didn't prevent from the loose doors opening, revealing what Bako had been so unwilling to show her.
"W-What the hell is this...?" The female backed away from the slew of pilles and stacks of scattered papers that dispersed along the floor like a carpet. She felt a senses of disturbance and disgust as she noticed each paper had a drawing of a very familiar girl on them. Too familiar to (Y/n). There was no mistaking who the female in each and every singly sketch was. Some drawings were done in such detail that it was clear the artist took every bit of time to perfected each pencil stroke, while a few were rushed, scratchy and frantic, divulging that the drawer had created them in a time of clear irritation and at broken down moments. (Y/n) began breathing loudly, unable to peel her eyes away from the person in the sketches until she heard a huff from behind.
"You shouldn't have seen those..." Bako apprehensively watched the female's shaken form turning to face him with her wide-eyed expression.
"What is this...?" She referred back to the drawings but Bako simply guiltily closed his eyes, the stillness being his only answer. "What is all this...?" (Y/n) firmly repeated, trying to catch the male's attention. "Is this a joke?!"
Bako cringed at the sudden loss of temper and smiled shamefully, "If I said 'yes' would you believe me...?"
"Bako this isn't funny, what the hell is all this?!" As (Y/n) looked back at the sketches but ended up grimaceing at the scene.
"That's you, (Y/n)..." He innocently smiled at the female, deluding to the idea that she would simply forget about this whole experience or take it as a normal occurrance.
The teenager watched the boy with a horrified expression, still figuring out the answers along the way. "Why...?" Her mind went blanc, and she could only utter the one word that tortured her subconscious.
"It gets so lonely here without you..." (Y/n) shook her head in a frantic manner, trying to come under the inclination that all that she had seen and heard was not real. "Sometimes I can't sleep...so I just draw the things that keep coming up in my mind." The female had no desire to listen to any more of the boy's explanations. There seemed to be so much betrayal and covert meaning in every word. The boys she had felt so close to now seemed like strangers in the close perspective.
The rest of the group entered the room and saw the female, cornered as she tried to grasp her new reality. "(Y/n)...listen, there's no need for you to panic, just take it easy." However, as the crimson haired male approached the girl's horrified state, she backed further away. "Listen to me, just take a moment to think. We won't disturb you..." (Y/n) gulped at the proposition but took the advice as she was left with no other choices.
The girl recalled back to the past week and how amazing it had been with the boys' antics and the ups and downs. Even those memories seemed implanted in her head, as though they weren't real. As if nothing that had happened up until now never even existed. She felt degraded, and every action seemed abasement. (Y/n) made sure her brain was at a proper functioning state before she spoke out again, still not quite sure in her sentence. "I'm leaving..." With those words she began to walk towards the open door, not daring to look up and make eye contact with either one of the boys.
"W-well, hold on (Y/n), you'll come back again right?" Jin walked up beside her and shot the female a gentle smile but it didn't seem to reach her.
"No...I-I...I don't think I'll be coming back." Just as she stood before the door, a hand reached out past her and slowly closed her into the room. (Y/n) turned towards the person and glared at them, "Let me leave."
"You're not going anywhere." Kaito stood in front of her, blocking the female's view.
"Let me leave." She repeated and made a move for the handle but was stopped when the boy's hand grabbed her own. "Don't touch me..."
"...Damn it all..." Kaito searched for some sort of explanation inside his mind but knew the female wasn't going to believe any word he would say. "You're not leaving (Y/n)."
"Yes I am, move." Ripping her hand away from him, (Y/n) reached out for the door again until a pair of hand entwined themselves around her body, restricting her movement. "L-let me go!"
"Please don't leave (Y/n)." Ryo tightly squeezed the girl, refusing to loosen his grip of the struggling female.
"Let me go! What are you doing?!" Kaito observed his sweetheart and her fearful mannerisms, and gave a hefty sigh.
"I guess now that you know there's really no need to restrain ourselves anymore." (Y/n) stared at the male in worrying confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, you're going to be staying here for a while." (Y/n) could only glare at him with disgust and indignation and give him scowls replete with anger.
"I'm not staying! I don't want to be here anymore!" Her struggles intensified as adrenaline dissolved into her blood and travelled to every muscle.
"S-stop moving (Y/n)! I don't want to hurt you." Ryo tried his best to restrict her movements but the girl managed to break free from the grip. She prepared her fist to send it flying towards the intellectual as a means of defence, until she stopped herself at his words.
"If you care for your friends, you won't do that." (Y/n) blinked a number of times to process the meaning of his statement and dared to inquire him on the connotation. Kaito smirked, winning over his usual demeanour as he saw the soft spot in (Y/n)'s defences. "I'm sure you wouldn't want any of your friends or classmates getting hurt, right?" The girl rose her eyebrow in a sceptical fashion. "I mean, poor, innocent Sei seems so trusting with Jin. It shouldn't be hard to break that determined, kind attitude of hers." (Y/n) glanced at Jin, who had a serious expression and seemed to be taking his friend's words into consideration. "And what was that flamboyant older student that Bako told me about...? Summer was it? I've heard of her fondness towards Ryo. Wouldn't it be cute if Ryo got to 'тalĸ' to her? Hm?" Kaito placed his chin in one hand, sarcastically paying along to the ruse like a cunning, little child. She looked back at Ryo who had an interested grin spread across his face. "And that other girl. Nami was her name, right? I can't really say much for the rest of us, but she seems quite unsuspecting of Ren. Shouldn't be too difficult to mess around with her."
(Y/n) became nauseated by the thought of what the boys would do with the people closest to her, "Don't you dare try something with my friends!"
"Who else was there...? Hhhmm...how about that annoying pair that seem to be going through a rough patch." The girl immediately understood which individuals he was talking about, and could feel her face losing colour at the realisation. "After what they did to you, it was quite the hard decision to simply leave them be, after that. But if you won't be complying with us then I guess there's no reason to hold back. I just wonder how thin the wire is between their relationship right now?" Kaito sardoically shrugged, only adding to the annoyance (Y/n) was going through. "Well, it is what it is...then again, none has to get involved, right? Everyone could just continue to live their unsuspecting lives without any worry. It's really all up to you. So, what do you say?" He calmly leaned against the wall and watched the turmoil he was putting the female through.
"You're scum. How could you just say things like this?" Despite her reluctance on backing down, (Y/n) lowered her fists to show her defeat. "I want to leave!"
"Not until we say otherwise. Now be a good girl and stay here while we go and discuss a few things." The male nodded towards his accomplices and they all followed his lead outside.
(Y/n) was left with a last sympathetic glance from Jin, as she found herself alone in the deadpan room as the footsteps from beyond the door disappeared downstairs. When she was sure she would remain undisturbed, (Y/n) quickly scanned the door's handle, but after a few gentle and firm shakes and pulls, it was evident she was locked. The female let out a frustrated huff and slid down the wall to sink into a ball on the floor. 'What have I gotten myself into...?'
