Chapter 24: A Plan
A/n: I know I'm going to regret publishing this so previously since my last chapter, but this is more of a filler part, so the next one will be posted after a while.
(Y/n) entered Bako's own chamber with a distasteful glare, still in high dudgeon from the incident. She stood unnervingly in the room, with the occasional murmur of spite under her breath, while the boy looked through his drawers to pick out a suitable replacement for the girl's ruined clothes. "I swear he did it on purpose! You might not have seen it, but I could guarantee you that I saw the smallest hint of a smirk under that facade!" (Y/n) had plenty of room to vent about her displeasure with the situation but the boy showed no signs of annoyance or displeasure from her rant. In actuality, he relished at the sound of the girl's voice and her eagerness to be talking to him, despite it being for anger-expressive reasons.
"I'm sure he didn't mean it, he seemed genuinely sorry this time." Bako shuffled around in his drawer and emerged with a pair of dark denim, bootcut jeans. After considering the size, he found that they would have to do for the time being.
"You're his friend, you know how he's like. I know what I'm talking about, I'm very intuitive." The female proudly stated and took her new clothing from the boy.
'Yet you haven't caught on to our feeling towards you.' Bako heavily sighed, wondering how it would be like if he were to be in a relationship with the girl in front of him. 'If only that were to happen...it wouldn't hurt to tell her, right? It's not like we're complete strangers...' He continued to observe the girl as she inspected his belonging and deemed it suitable to wear. But before she made a move towards getting undressed, (Y/n) put a halt to her ranting session and turned her attention to the other person in the room. Bako grew curious as to why she was looking at him so intently, "What?"
(Y/n) cleared her throat and began fiddling with the fabric of the clothes, with a slightly red-tinted face she whispered at the boy, "Umm...I know it's usually just you guys in this house, and you all know each other so you don't feel embarrassed bbuutt..." She trailed off, hoping her hint was informative enough for the boy to catch her drift. Bako furrowed his brows in a confused demeanour and then just as quickly permuted his expression as he was jolted to a realisation.
The male's face turned into a pink-tinge and perceptibly contrasted with his light blue hair, making it, even more, noticeable. "O-of course, yes, pardon me, I-I'll go and wait for you in Ryo's room. Just bring your stuff when you're finished." He left with an evident shakiness in his walk and had to lean against the wall to take a moment to calm himself.
He began walking towards the direction of the group of friends when his mind unavoidably recalled back to his room. He started to consider what would have happened if she was too busy fuming out her rage to even notice that she was about alternate between the given clothes, and wondered if she was actually going to get changed in front of him. Would he even make an attempt to stop her, or would he simply let her swap garments while he watched?
Bako swiftly caught his thoughts before his mind had the chance to wonder far off track and knocked himself on the head in a guilty punishment. 'What's wrong with me? Was I always this perverse?' He washed the bad thoughts away and replaced them with cleaner ones, trying to forget what had just gone through his mind.
When he arrived back to his friend's room he was greeted with the sly smirks of his housemates. "Ssooo, did you get to see her change~?" Ryo playfully grinned from ear to ear which subsequently forced the artist's skin to flare.
"Y-you're shameless." Bako sat down with the rest of the group, ignoring the coy smile the blond was sending his way.
"She hates me doesn't she?" Kaito attempted to put on a tougher front but the signs of worry leaked out.
"(Y/n) won't stay angry at you, she's too forgiving." Ren placed an encouraging smile and turned to Ryo, "By the way when we came into the room, why was he angry at you?" The dark boy referred back to the moment of Kaito's altercation with his friend.
The blond had a mischievous glint in his attitude and turned towards the ruby haired intellectual. "I'll give you anything if you forget what I said!" Kaito glared through to his friend in a last attempt of a warning but his scowl didn't go any further than the younger boy's childishness.
"He was telling me how he sees (Y/n) as intellectually equal and considers furthering the relationship from just 'acquaintance'. Am I quoting you right?" He turned to his friend to be greeted with an aggravated genius.
"You need to control that tongue of yours before something happens to it."
When everything seemed settled and on neutral ground, Bako took notice of the fifth boy staring intently at the door, away from the group. He leaned closer to his friends and spoke in a hushed tone, "Alex has been more quiet and reserved than usual. You think he's alright?" They each took a look at their distracted friend and came to their own conclusions.
"Maybe he's just thoughtful."
"I don't notice anything different, he's always this taciturn."
"Maybe the aliens got to him!"
But they all seemed to come to the conclusion that it has a correlation with (Y/n). Before they can make a proper prognosis, however, the silence was broken by a buzzing sound coming from inside the room. After a short inspection, Ryo discovered the sound to be a phone. Not just any phone, however, but the phone of their guest. "Lala...? Oh, this must be one of the twins. You remember? Those that kept bugging Alex." Ryo inwardly chuckled as a slight chill ran up the silent boy's spine, recalling back to the bad memories.
After a few seconds, the buzzing stopped and a 'ping' was heard from the device. The blond noticeably frowned deeply at what he saw, playing on the curiosity of the other males. "What's wrong?" Ren walked up behind the blond boy and mimicked the response of his friend to perfection.
"It's a message from one of them. It says: '(Y/n)! Come over to our house, we have big news to tell you!'" He glanced at his friends to get some incentive on what to do. As clairvoyance seemed to signal each one of their thoughts, he swiped over the text to delete it. All of the males smirked at the action, agreeing on the decision. Ryo quickly hid the phone from plain view as a knock was heard from the other side of his door. (Y/n) entered the scene, with her new lower attire, and stained belonging in hands. She pulled up the slipping wear that had caused her trouble on the way back and directed her attention towards the males.
"So, what do I do with this now?" She held up her jeans, with a questioning gaze pointed at Bako.
"I'll sort them out." He took the clothing and walked off to complete his task.
She turned towards the other boys with a pleading look of desperation, "Can one of you please lend me a belt, this is getting tedious?" She proceeded to once again yank the waistband up, only to have it slipping once again.
"Oh! I got just the thing!" Ryo flung one of his drawers open and trotted up to her with a 'Hello Kitty' belt. The girl stared at the object in utter confusion as to why the boy would have this sort of strap amongst his other items of clothing. She was about to interrogate him on it until she remembered that this was Ryo she was questioning and simply took it with a 'thank you.'
She then noticed Alex on the floor with Fenrir sitting in front of him. He was fixating his gaze on her, evidently reminiscing about something unspoken of before. "Can I...help you Alex?" After the words had left her mouth, Bako returned with a satisfied look on his face.
"Ok, your cloths are in the laundry and will be ready in an hour." He smiled at the girl but wasn't returned with the reaction he was hoping for.
"What?! Take them out!" She rushed towards the door in a panic but was stopped when the boy's hand grabbed her.
"Why? What's wrong?"
(Y/n) scowled at her science partner, "That's going to take too long. And then I'm going to have to wait another hour to let them dry when you could have done that from the start!" The (e/c) eyed female focused all the temper on her glare in astray determination to inflict some sort of physical damage on him.
"So you would much rather walk out in the daylight with a huge stain?" The girl fell silent with stubborn pouting as her answer. "Thought as much."
"What am I supposed to do until then?" (Y/n) tapped her foot in a constant patter to indicate her impatience with the actions taken so far.
"I can think of something!" Ryo jumped up from his spot and ran up to the girl. "Kaito! Can I borrow your dog?" The boy took the girl by the hand, not bothering to wait for an answer from his friend.
The girl wasn't quite surprised by the boy's occurring habit of lugging her around like a rag doll and found it more wearisome than anything at that point. Their journey ended at the back garden of the property. "Ryo, what now? I'm not in the mood for chilling in the-" (Y/n) literally pursed her lips to halt any speech from escaping and stood frozen on the spot as her eyes caught sight of a large creature staring at her in an alert manor.
"Hm? Why aren't you moving?" Ryo looked at her unwavering form and back at the animal to make a connection.
"Sshh! It can't see me if I stay still." (Y/n) answered him in a ventriloquistic method. Ryo looked at the creature once again and began laughing hysterically, putting a panicked expression on the girl.
"Hahaha, that's Kaito's dog (Y/n). Hehehe, not a dinosaur." (Y/n) looked back at the massive animal sitting a few feet away from her and fear stroke again.
"That's not a dog, that's a mutation of a lion!" She hissed out but shut herself up when she noticed the dog standing higher.
"He's an Anatolian Shepherd, he's supposed to be big. Come here boy!" He called out for the animal who responded immediately by running towards the pair, causing (Y/n) to escape from her paralysis and attempt to turn and run back inside the house. However, before her brain could actually send signals to her muscles, she ended up hitting her back against the grass, with a large form on top of her.
"Get him off! Get him off! Get him...haha off! Stop-haha," she had no choice but to laugh as the large dog began licking her face in a friendly act. "Stop it! Hahaha, your not-your not helping!" The great animal then disappeared from her fallen body and bounded up to its master.
"Was this the reason you requested for Oberon?" Kaito appeared with the other three boys behind him. His dog started unnervingly shifting towards the girl while his master was trying to restrain him. "Oberon, stop! Settle down!"
"Oberon sit." Alex appeared by the creature's side, the mammoth animal obeying his order and lay still.
"He never listens to me..." The red haired boy tusked at his pet earning a wine from the creature. (Y/n) stood back up and watched as the larger dog interacted with Fenrir in friendly mannerisms.
"Is this your idea of passing the time?" (Y/n) looked at her blond friend and was answered by the playful glint in his eyes. She sighed and went over to the two animals and took the larger dog's equally giant paw and shook it, "Pleasure to meet you, Oberon, I'm (Y/n)."
Time seemed to fly and was unnoticeably going by the girl's mind, without her realising the marigold and rouge colours painting the sky while she was rolling around on the ground along with the male group, amusing the two dogs. (Y/n) didn't even realise how easily she got tricked into cooking alongside Ren and Kaito.
She washed all the used and no longer necessary cooking equipment when it truly hit her about the current time while she was in her day-dream state. "OH GOD, WHAT TIME IS IT?!" She grabbed Bako by the collar and shook him in a panic process.
"I-it's 8 o'clock." He stuttered out as the girl's eye uncontrollably began twitching.
"What the hell are you thinking?!" The girl gripped his shirt tighter and there was an evident crack in her voice on every few lines. "Why didn't you tell me it was this late?! I should have been at home 5 hours ago!"
"I-I didn't want to spoil the moment and you looked like you were having so much fun so-"
"You had one job!" She quickly ran upstairs to grab her bag from Ryo's room and shouted down to the first floor, "Give me my jeans!"
Ren took on the task of collecting her long-dried clothing and brought it up to her. The moment she took her belongings she pushed the boy out of the room and closed the door with a loud bang. "I'll be out in a minute!" She shouted from the inside before an immediate 'thump' sound emerge from the room. "I'm ok, I'm alright!" Ren chuckled and rolled his eyes, leaving the second floor to join the rest of the boys in the living room, who were looking more than disappointed.
"It's was fun while it lasted at least." The blond slumped up against his chair.
"Ok, I'm here! Thanks for keeping me busy you guys but I really need to go before my grandmother makes some inconspicuous calls and finds out I'm not where I'm supposed to be." (Y/n) said this while quickly putting on her coat and tossing the jeans she had worn to their owner.
"Are you sure you want to leave without having dinner? You made it as well and we'd feel bad if-"
"No, no. I really need to go, so this is goodbye to all of you and have a nice evening!" (Y/n) called for Fenrir who removed himself from sitting next to his new K9 friend and scampered up to his master. The girl ran out the door before anyone could respond to her farewell.
Kaito was the first to sigh, "I guess we won't be seeing her until Monday...why are you looking so simper?" He turned towards Ryo who had a humble grin playing on his lips.
"I think we'll be seeing her sooner than we think if she cares for her stuff enough~" the boy held up a phone that belonged to neither of the males.
