Chapter 2: New Encounters

(Y/n) made her way towards the first, and to her luck, favourite lesson: maths.

"I don't know how you can stand this subject (Y/n), it's so exhausting." Saki said, already yawning at the thought of doing arithmetics.

"Says the person who takes a 1 hour nap every lesson." (Y/n) bump her head to wake her from her dreamy state.

"What can I say, it's boring when Lala isn't there." During most lessons, the twins would be together and, more often than not, sit with (Y/n). But occasionally, a lesson would come along when the twins don't have the same class and they would either pay more attention or no attention at all during that time.

"Come on, I'll let you copy me again if you manage to stay awake for another 30 minutes." This deal seemed to motivate Saki to stir from her daze.

"Thank you!" She practically skipped in to class, (Y/n) grinned and nodded her head in ironic disapproval. She then accidentally bumped into Saki's back, entering the class.

"Why did you stop?" (Y/n) asked in confusion and irritation. Saki grabbed her friend's arm and dragged her to the grind along with herself. "What's wrong with you, we almost tripped the people behind us?!" (Y/n) whisper-yelled at her friend.

"Did you see them?!" Saki grinned manically at the (h/c) girl. (Y/n) furrowed her brow to symbolise her puzzlement. "Bako is in our maths class! But not only that, look at the person he's sitting next to!" Saki shoved (Y/n)'s head up to get a glimpse at who her ground-buddy was talking about. She lazily scanned the room and quickly spotted the blue haired male and saw what got the tomboy so perked. Next to him sat a boy that looked close to the new class mate's age with, well looked after, blond hair and dazzling chestnut eyes. He held a sort of mischievous air about him and gave a playful grin towards Bako. 'They seem to know eachother.' (Y/n) thought right before she was shoved to the ground again.

"That must be one of the new guys! There might just be hope for me after all!" Saki half whispered, half screeched. Suddenly, both the girls were forced to look up into the impatient and vexed face of their maths teacher. The females stood up immediately, expressions turned crimson in discomposure.

"What were you doing down there?" Mr Miazaki asked the two females. Saki pondered frantically to think of a passable excuse.

"We were trying to find Saki's blue pen Sir." (Y/n) holds up the pen she was talking about and innocently grins, sighing with reliefe in her head. Saki gave her an amazed look, trying to comprehend when (Y/n) had snuck her pen out of her bag without her realising and thinking up the excuse ahead of time. "Here it is, sorry, we'll go back to our seats." They made their way to their table and sat down.

"Phew....nice one (Y/n). Now give that back!" Saki snatched her pen back, gave her friend a playful glare only to be returned with just a smirk.

As the lesson began, (Y/n) couldn't help but feel uneasy and not quite knowing why. She glossed of over the heads in front of her but didn't see what her sixth sense was picking up. She glanced at her friend's direction to see her peaceful form in deep slumber with her hand still holding on to the pen, stopped halfway through writing the question. 'So much for staying awake for half of the lesson.' (Y/n) considered what way she should wake up her friend.

After a bit of thinking, (Y/n) decides to take her pen and began drawing three whiskers on each side of the snoozing teenager. The (e/c) eyed girl gently coloured in the tip of her nose to finish off her masterpiece. Satisfied with her work, she pinches her friend's nose, limiting Saki's oxygen and making her wake up with a slight gasp. "Wh...what?" Saki rubs her eyes to get the sleep out.

"Pay attention." (Y/n) said, trying hard not to snicker at her work. Saki gave an annoyed grunt.

"What's the time?" She said, taking out her phone and checking the time. After shutting her phone off and before putting it away, the blond-brunet girl managed to get a glimpse of her face in the black screen and held in a screech. "You little-" Saki started to scrub out the ink frantically. (Y/n) merely watched from the side, suppressing giggles, unaware of the person staring at the back of her head, trying to contain a slew of his own laughter.

Bako's shoulders started to gently shake, showing his effort in keeping his chuckles in. The boy next to him glanced his direction and raised his eyebrow. "Hey, what's got you so amused Bako?" The blond teenager asks.

"Oh nothing, I'm just enjoying the lesson." The blue male replied, focusing back on his equations.

"Yeah well, you were always the nerd. Really think we made a mistake in changing schools, this is basically like Yuzuki Academy only lamer." The young man started doodling at the corner of his exercise book.

"I can't really agree with you on that, it's only the first day, and I'm already gripped." He glanced back the female, who was trying to clean up her friend's ink-smudged face, across from him.

"Haha, well I'm certainly loving the attention from the girls here, so that's a plus!" The blond male winked at a girl who was peeking at him, making her redden.

Time Skip

As the lesson flew by with (Y/n) constantly experiencing the back poking sensation of eyes staring at her. After spending most of the lesson trying to rub the ink off of Saki, the parakeet eyed female kept a nettled expression.

"Hehehe, sorry but you didn't keep to your deal so you needed repercussions." (Y/n) tapped her friend's nose. Saki moped and gathered her stuff to prepare for her next lesson.

"Whatever, I'm going to get you for this later." She stuck her tongue out and crossly turned her back at her temporary nemesis. (Y/n) shrugged at her friend's claim and began packing her equipment up only to have every hair on her body, stand on end once again.

'What's wrong with me? Am I just becoming paranoid?' (Y/n) thought to herself. She shook her head to rid her mind of the suspicions. 'Nah, I'm definitely being paranoid.' The bell rang and everyone made their way out the door for the next lesson. (Y/n) didn't have time to put all her equipment in her bag, so she grabbed her unzipped pencil case in the hope of just carrying it to her next lesson with ought any accidents. As everyone pushed their way past the door, (Y/n) felt an extra hard jab from someone behind her. Everything appeared in slow motion, as her pencil case plummeted to the ground in agonising, sluggish speed right to the bitter end of its impact. 'Why....' (Y/n) asked herself bitterly, in her head.

"Oh God, I'm so sorry." She heard a male voice behind her. She sighed and looked down at the mess with pained eyes.

'At least he apologised.' (Y/n) calmed herself, "It's ok, it happens." She was about to begin picking her stuff up, when another hand darted out before she could get to her equipment. For a second (Y/n) thought that whoever this was, was going to take some of her supplies and make her chase after them, which was a common thing in her school. But instead, the arm gathered all of the tools and quickly put them back in the pencil case.

"I hope you can forgive me." (Y/n) looked up into the dark, raven eyes of a boy she doesn't recognise. The boy had onyx orbs which held a certain amount of mystery to them and coal black hair that glistened, even in the horrible lighting, as well as a contrast to his pure, pale skin. He had a row of piercings on one of his ears and held a gentle and apologetic smile. The (h/c) haired female took a second of thinking to figure out that this was most likely one of the new students as well.

'Boy, I'm discovering these guys at record speed.....maybe I should make a bingo?' (Y/n) was deep in thought and staring out into space with her chin in hand, considering her invention that she didn't even realise the boy trying to get her attention.

"Uuumm, hello? Are you ok? I didn't hurt you, did I?" The dark raven shakes her shoulder lightly, bringing her back to reality.

"Huh...? Oh no no no, just contemplating life. Thank you." (Y/n) half joked and took her pencil case. She gave him a thankful smile and saw Saki's paralysed form. Her friend must have become catatonic when she had laid eyes on the appealing male. (Y/n) took Saki by her collar and dragged her off to their next lesson.

The ebony male watched as the two girls left and thought back to how the (e/c) eyed female had presented herself. "That was a first." He chuckled to himself and felt an arm swing over his shoulder.

"Hahaha, what an impression you must have made. Honestly, it's only the first day at school Ren." The blond male snickered at the scene. The dark teen rolled his eyes and looked back at his two friends.

"When are we going to get you trained Ryo?" The boy patted the blond's head and looked back at his second companion.

"What happened?" The aqua male asked.

"Oh, it was nothing. I just bumped into a girl and helped pick up her stuff." The boys began walking along to their lessons.

"Who was it?"

The dark crow thought back to the female's appearance. "She had (h/c) hair, pretty (e/c) eyes. She also had a (f/c) pencil case. Why?" The blue haired boy recognised the appearance of the girl that managed to catch his interest.

"No reason, she's just in my class."

"Oh darn!" The dark haired student retrieves a rubber shaped in a flower from his pocket.

"Nice rubber dude." Ryo tittered and poked fun at his friend.

"It's not mine, it must be that girl's. I had forgotten to put it back." Ren looked at the little object guiltily.

"Hey, I have a lesson with her next, let me give it to her." As he receives the little object he couldn't help but smile in anticipation at the thought of talking to the girl that somehow managed to dig into his mind.
