THE WEEK FELT LIKE YEARS as it seemed to drag on for ages until the Schnapp cabin party on Saturday.

Y/N was more than upset with Finn, yes. But she couldn't help but miss his presence. She loved him for Christ's sake, but was it really worth it to love him for all his horrible mistakes?

Would she really be willing to take that risk?

However, Finn was more than willing to risk everything for Y/N. He was no longer begging for forgiveness, no. He would now demand that Y/N take him back, for he was angry with her.

Finn was angry with Y/N because she made him weak. Because she made him fall in love with her, only to be left just like everyone else in his life had done to him.

Y/N was all he had left, but if she was going to turn against him, then he would turn against her. He wasn't going to physically hurt her, he could never do that.

He just simply wanted to make a point to her, and he would make it soon—maybe tomorrow night. He would hope that because of this take of action, Y/N would finally listen to him, and understand just how upset he was, much like her.

Y/N's mother had been continuing to talk to the same person she's been speaking to online for the past couple weeks, and thanks to Y/N's convenient eavesdropping, she learned that they would be meeting this Saturday night.

That was the same night as Noah's party, so
Y/N was thankful that she didn't have to be there to see her mother's new lover boy.

Y/N and her mother still hadn't been talking. They were both stubborn, and persisted with their limited conversation.

Little did her mother know, that Y/N just needed to talk. She needed to speak with her mother, get advice, just share things like they used to.

But she was too stubborn to admit it. She wanted to rant to her mother like she used to, and god knows just how much Y/N could rant to her mother about Finn.

Much to her mother's surprise, Y/N actually sat at the table with her mother for dinner that Thursday night, her plate clinked onto the table with her frozen oven heated food that she had a craving for.

Her mother took a delicate sip of her drink, her eyes peering curiously at her daughter as she sat at the table with her. She knew Y/N was upset with her, and she couldn't blame her.

But she was her mother, and a daughter should speak to her mother the way that Y/N did.

At least, that's what Y/N's mother kept telling herself. That's what she kept trying to do in order to justify her actions that night when they argued.
It seemed like a lifetime ago, and like most grudges, perhaps it was time to speak up about it.

Y/N's mother noticed her daughter's hesitant body language, her hands fidgeted together as she shyly and awkwardly ate her food next to her mother.

Y/N even considered calling her mother by her first name, Marie. That was how upset she had become with her.

But now, she just needed her mother back. She needed her now more than ever. But still, it felt forced.

Marie swallowed her drink of water, setting it down on the table as she attempted to push aside the saddening dullness between the mother and daughter, and spoke up. "Y/N.."

Y/N looked up from her plate, her eyes meeting her mother's gaze fully for the first time in what seemed like years. It had been a month.

"Yeah?" She muttered, her eyes now wandering between her plate and her mother's concerned gaze.

"Are you alright? You seem..conflicted."

Ha, conflicted is one word for it.

"Yeah, there's just a lot on my mind right now."
Y/N shrugged, allowing her fork to mess with her food on the plate.

"You wanna talk about it?" Marie hesitated, anxious of her daughter's response.

It wasn't a good idea for the mother and daughter to bury the tension about the events that happened a month prior, but they didn't listen.

They decided to bury the fact that Y/N was hit by her mother Marie, and never talk about it.

They knew it would resurface again in a conversation one day, and that they would surely have it out aggressively because no incident like that can simply be forgotten.

But they decided not worry about that. It wasn't a healthy decision to do so.

Y/N was cautious about how she would word her response. "You remember that guy, Finn? The neighbor's son next door?"

The boy with the freckles sprinkled delicately across his cheeks. The boy with curly, wayward black hair that her fingers loved traveling through. The boy with a smile that shined bright whenever he looked at her.

The boy she lost her virginity to. The boy who is the father to her unborn child.

The boy she fell in love with..

Marie nodded while she took a small fork full of food. "Of course, the nice young man you like?"

Y/N blushed at that mentioning of 'like'. It was a little funny considering the fact that she already slept with him and pronounced their love for one another. Bullshit. All of it.

"Well, we kinda.. dated for a little bit." Y/N winced, looking down at her plate to avoid Marie's surprises face. "But, we're not anymore."

Marie still held a skeptical face, but waiting for Y/N to continue before she said anything.

"And, before we started dating, he was this really sweet guy, he was so nice and sweet and just a really sensitive guy and we really liked each other." Y/N sulked, her own sadness and realization that Finn could never be that way to her again finally set in.

She missed that Finn. She missed the way he looked at her, the way he touched her, the way she felt whenever she was around him. It was a feeling like no other.

"And now, let me guess," Marie smiled empathetically, "he's changed since then, right?"

Y/N looked up with surprise in her eyes, nervously chewing the inside of her cheek. Had her mother known more than she let on?

"Yeah.." Y/N nodded as she looked back at her plate.

Marie nodded understandingly. "And he's not the guy you thought you knew? He's worse, he's a completely different person?"

It was almost concerning how accurate Marie's prediction was, making Y/N uneasy that her mother may know more about Finn and their  relationship than Y/N previously thought.

"Yes.." Y/N sighed, her fork now settled on the plate. "How'd you know?"

Marie exhaled as she stared at her plate for a moment, her fork now sitting down on the table. "Because that's how I felt about your father."

Y/N sighed, her mind was stressing to lengths beyond belief. She didn't know how to feel about this entire situation, and it scared her that she didn't feel worse.

"He's just so different now. He broke my heart, and he's acting like all I need to do is just take him back with open arms, but it's not that easy. I can't just forget what he's done." Y/N rambled, ranting to her mother, but keeping it vague to avoid confrontation about Finn's more darker deeds.

"Then don't." Marie stated, her eyes serious. "If things are as bad as you say they are, he doesn't deserve that forgiveness. Don't make the same mistake I did."

Y/N nodded slowly, her eyes staring at her plate as she mentally contemplated what her mother said. Finn had hurt Y/N in a way she never thought possible. She felt like her heart had been ripped out, and deceived. Because it was.

"He really hurt you, didn't he?" Marie spoke softly, leaning forward a little to see Y/N's saddened and pained face. He broke me.

The next day awoke to be more of the same dwelling and depressing mood, Y/N hardly found herself wanting to do anything more than sulk in her room over her break up.

She even tried rejecting Millie's offer to go shopping for an outfit later for the Schnapp party the next day, but Millie wouldn't let her drown in her pity anymore.

"Girl, get the hell up." Millie barged into Y/N's room after coming over to her house when she received a text from Y/N saying she didn't want to go with her to the mall.

"Go away." Y/N mumbled, her voice muffled as she was buried underneath her blankets in her bed. Her room was dark because of the closed curtains and locked windows, a precaution made because of Finn.
Her mother had gone to run errands, leaving Y/N alone in her house to do what little she wanted. Little did she know, her mother was at the mall shopping for an outfit as well, and coincidentally, for her date tomorrow as well.

This was the stereotypical grieving process of her broken relationship.
Speaking with her mother caused the realization to hit her hard that the guy she fell in love with, and had so many firsts with, was not who she thought he was.

"Y/N," Millie persisted, walking over to her bed, forcefully throwing the blankets off her. "What the hell?" Y/N yelled, annoyed.

"Get the hell up, you're coming with me." Millie continued, going over to Y/N's drawers to pull out some decent clothes for her to change into.

"I'm not going to the mall, Millie." Y/N stated, rubbing her eyes. "I'm tired, and every time I stand up I get this wave of nausea, which is fucking fantastic."

Millie ignored Y/N's complaints, finishing putting together an outfit and tossing it over to Y/N to change in to. Millie walked over to sit on the edge of bed next to a messy Y/N, sighing.

"Look, I get that you're tired and you're heartbroken, I get that and I'm sorry." Millie started, keeping it blunt.

"But, you can either cry over a psychopath, or you can get up and live your life. Show Finn that it doesn't matter that he's not in your life anymore, show him that you're better than that. Show him that you're just as strong without him. Show him that you're not scared to live without him."

Millie made great sense, effectively taking a toll on Y/N's thoughts. She knew Millie was right, and she knew that she couldn't just pity herself in bed all day.

She wished she could believe that Millie was right about Finn's involvement in her life.

She wished she could believe that Finn wasn't in her life anymore. Millie said that Finn was forever gone from Y/N's life.

Millie couldn't be more wrong about that.
