There is a bit of a backstory to this book as well.

The idea of Infamy came up in my mind around the end of May 2022. An age gap story that wouldn't feel weird to read, and one that showed Taehyung as a musician with a tainted reputation is what I wanted to write.

The age gap was slightly worrying me before I started writing, and as I mentioned in the introduction, I discussed with a couple of dear ones, and based on their inputs, I adjusted Taehyung's age as 43, and Yi-Seo's as 26. They had an age gap of 17 years.

Wait, but that's not how old they are here, right?

Right!

Wait a bit. 🤩

So, I started writing the first draft of Infamy with these ages, and initially the story was also set to happen fifteen years post Taehyung's blacklisting. But when I reached the part with the statute of limitations, I did my research as usual, and found out that civil litigations have an expiry period of only ten years.

And then I had to go back and change it to ten years everywhere, and also change Taehyung's age to 37. That made them only 11 years apart, and so I reduced Yi-Seo to 23 years and gave them an age gap of 14 years. It seemed acceptable to me.

Listen, there's something about an age gap between the leads that makes me feel things. And I just had to write one with Taehyung in it because, honestly, I can't wait to see him reach his late thirties in real life with a beautiful family and all. This age is such a hot concept, according to me. 🥵🥵

However, the focus point of Infamy is not the age gap. And I wanted it to be that way as well, even though before I published it, I used to mention this story to my friends by using the name 'age-gap kth ff' lol.

The key concept I wanted to focus on was that the characters have all suffered and fought their own battles, yet they're strong and surviving in the end. That's how life is, and we need to believe that there is always hope and light at the end of the tunnel. Another thing I wanted to showcase through Infamy is the power of true and pure love, and how it can radically transform lives. And I'm glad that the result turned out well.

I also once watched a real person talk about addiction and rehab, and though I couldn't relate to it, my heart went out to them. Forming a habit is super easy, but breaking out of it is extremely hard. Especially when it takes over like how alcoholism took over Taehyung to such a great extent. It takes a great amount of character and will power to kill addiction. Taehyung had it in him to succeed. He only needed a strong nudge and a reality check.

And about Jimin's character? Chapter 49 said it all. The tattoo shows the depth of his love and adoration for Taehyung. But every time Mi-Yang saw her husband's body, she too saw Taehyung. And that isn't really a great thing especially when she was already that delusional fan.

I haven't mentioned about what happened to them afterwards, except for Jimin telling Yi-Seo that Mi-Yang isn't at home. Inside my head, they patch up after a brief separation, and shortly after, Mi-Yang also gets pregnant with the couple's first child.

I was thinking of a new layout for Infamy since Sinners, The Art Of Loving You, and Decoupled were all having a similar layout. It was getting a little boring for me. So, I decided to do away with the gifs for this one, and go for pictures instead.

The chapter names were unplanned at first, and I had used k-pop song names as titles for the chapters. But then I changed it all to BTS song names, since they were more appropriate. And all the images used show Taehyung as a musician, as a performer, as an idol. Personally, I'm satisfied with the layout and look.

There are actually so many more sweet scenarios inside my head with Taehyung and Yi-Seo that I really want to write, but there's literally no time these days. 😭🤧 Like their simple wedding ceremony, Taehyung singing while playing the piano for Yi-Seo as they spend time inside his recording room, a child birth scene, and so much more... I just can't seem to get enough of them.

Fortunately, I wrote a major chunk of Infamy before I started a full-time job in October 2022. I had almost 53 or 54 chapters written by then. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to publish the story as planned.

I hope Infamy was worth your time. And this story has crossed 13k reads at the time of completion, surpassing the 12k milestone reached by Decoupled, which actually blows my mind away. I'm so thrilled and eternally thankful for all the love and support. ✨

With Infamy, I have noticed a lot of new readers who have kept up with the regular daily updates. The story statistics reported that Infamy has over 120 engaged readers, most of whom are unique readers. Which is terrific!!! I'm super happy that I've completed another story. It isn't so easy at all, but yay!! Here I am!! Woohoo!! 🥳🥳🥳

But, now that Infamy is done, I'm high-key depressed as always. I've grown so attached to Tae and Seo, and I'm already missing them so bad. Without the daily updates and the interactions with my lovely readers, I actually don't have anything better to look forward to each day. 😭😭

On the brighter side, I also hope to pick up Veiled and continue writing it from where I abandoned it almost a year ago. I really hope to get it done by the end of summer. For those of you who are wondering/haven't had a chance to read the prologue (which is now unpublished), Veiled was supposed to be my first JJK fanfiction. Of course, with Taehyung in it.

I'll do my best to bring it back up. ✊🥲
