That would be an understatement

I couldn't say it. That's it, I just couldn't say it. The love I had for him was not greater than the love he had for his dreams.
Amber's P. O. V
"Come on Amber, time to go home. Ayana just called," Vihaan says to me and I sigh a breath of relief, inwardly.
"Oh no! Why! We were having so much fun," Amna exclaims from beside me.
"Yeah, we were. But I'm tired as well and since Ayana called, I'm sure it must be something important. It is a pleasure meeting you Amna, I hope to meet you again soon," I say with a genuine smile and get up.
It has been a pleasure to meet her, she's really sweet and I don't want to break her heart by saying that I got bored. Hence...
"See you tomorrow then. Call me if you need anything?" Vihaan says and I guess she nods because I don't hear her say anything.
Vihaan comes to stand behind me and bends to whisper in my ear, his warm breath rolling off on my neck, making me go stiff."Come on, we gotta go," he says casually and I feel him walk around me and ahead.
I follow the sound of his footsteps, convincing myself that anyone's proximity would have affected me like that.

"Finally something interesting," I blurt out and I feel a steady gaze on me. I could feel the surprise and slight disappointment in it.
I say this and go inside to get changed.
I have gotten very comfortable and familiar with the house, so much so that I can move about without the walls, except for a couple of times that I get slightly confused.
I change and walk out to see the usual bickering happening between Vihaan and Ayana.
"Let's go to the place I just told you about," Vihaan screams and hear Ayana clicking her tongue.
"No way, we're going to the place I have in mind," she says, the arrogance and authority clear in her voice.
"Ayana, let's go where I suggested we go, it's better that way. At least for going there you won't have to change you're clothes," Vihaan says and I sense this going in a dangerous direction.
"I don't think you should go anywhere wearing what you're wearing," Ethan comments and I face palm inwardly.
"I'm not going to change irrespective of where we're going. Get that clear. I'll wear what the hell I want. As far as you're place is concerned, it's far Vihaan, and car won't accommodate all of us and you don't have you're bike too, so we go where I decided we're going," Ayana shot back, finality in her voice. I don't know what she's wearing, but I'm guessing it's inappropriate.
"Where's his bike?" my brother asks and silence falls in the room, the slightly dangerous kind.
"He, like the generous person that he is, gave it to Kabir," Ayana grits out and I smirk.
Vihaan sure knows how to get into trouble.
"Okay guys, can we leave now? I'm starving," I scream and I guess that catches everyone's attention because suddenly, there's silence.
"Exactly," Krisanne joins me and I hear shuffling before someone comes beside me and pulls me by the hand.
"Come on, everyone's almost out the door," Krisanne says while pulling me ahead and I follow her lead.
I wonder where we are going.

"You really got bored today?" Vihaan asks me and I jump slightly in surprise. I raise my hand and place it on my chest, taking deep breaths to control the panic.
"Gosh, Vihaan I thought Krisanne was walking with me," I say and he chuckles.
"Yeah, she was like a minute ago. What happened is that Rey and Ayana were walking together while I was walking with Ethan. Everything was fine until Rey started flirting with Ayana. Even though Ayana was cool about it, Kris being Kris, went on to switch places. She would have sent me to walk with Ayana but we kind of had an argument so she sent Ethan with Ayana and she walked with Rey and sent me back here.
"Why didn't she send Ethan with me? Or why didn't she send Rey with me? Or I could've walked with Ayana," I list out the other possibilities and he sighs.
"Now I don't know why she didn't do that. Or she probably didn't even think about it. She just randomly rearranged us," he says nonchalantly and I nod.
"So, back to my question, we're you really bored today?" he asks me again and I sigh before pinching the bridge of my nose.
"Yeah, I was, slightly," I admit and his reply is instant.
"But didn't you and Amna have fun? I saw you guys talking away," he questions.
"We were not talking. She was talking and I was listening. She was really sweet, no doubt and I kind of enjoyed it in the beginning but then I started to get bored because she spoke about people I didn't know about. I started zoning out. I feel really guilty about it now, but I just couldn't help it," I say and look down with a frown, thinking about how I'd done a mean thing today.
"It's okay you know. At least you were not being rude about it," he says honestly and I turn my head slightly in his direction, shocked.
I just nodded my head and we walked in silence after that.
*********************
Ethan was surely getting targeted today.
"How do they look?" I ask Vihaan after he takes a picture of Ethan and Rey.
"They look like two small boys caught not doing their homework," he says and I chuckle, imagining how they would be looking like.
That's when I'm reminded of the first day.
And that's when I realise how much these three strangers have rubbed off on me.
*********************
Vihaan's comment was down right offensive, but funny none the less. It left Ethan speechless. I, on the other hand, am busy enjoying the custard.
This is the second time he got targeted and none other than Ayana was responsible for it, well partly. I could feel the awkwardness and tension between them. I don't know about the others, but I definitely see something going on there.
"How's this made?" I ask Vihaan and he snaps a picture of, I'm guessing, Krisanne and Ayana before replying.
"I don't know exactly how it's made. But all I know is that originally, this was made only out of the first milk of a calf. What we're eating right now is like a first copy of the original thing," he explains and I form an 'o' with my mouth.
"So where do we get the original thing?" I ask and he replies instantly.
"I don't think you get it here, as far as I know, this dish has originated from Gujarat, another Indian state," he explains and the conversation about food goes on.

"Well there was this guy. He became friends with me in middle school. I had found it really strange because no body really made an effort to be my friend. Sure, everyone was nice to me and stuff, but all that was sympathy. No body was my friend. So I had been cautious at first. But then, it started to feel genuine and he was so sweet and good to me, I felt it's just more than friendship."
"I was naive then, so I fell for it. I confessed, thinking he wanted me to go first. We were at my house and then he excused himself to go get water. He never came back and I sat there, like a fool, for almost an hour waiting. Then I realised that he had become my friend because my brother had told him to. When I confessed, my brother let him go. My brother wanted him to be the guy he couldn't or should I say didn't want to be. Yeah, so that's my story," I say and I feel both their eyes on me.
"You're brother's a dick," Ayana says exactly what I expected her to say but what happens next shocks me.
"That would be an understatement," Krisanne says and this is legit the first time I hear her curse someone.
I chuckle and shake my head, while the three of us walk ahead in silence.
