Alyson is a young woman in the earlier days of society where if women had even too many opinions they would be locked in an asylum until they were reformed. Anything as minor as disobeying her husband would have pout her in there.

Alyson is a schizophrenic and had too many opinions as her family claimed. Her form of schizophrenia was fairly minor, just being very depressed and not engaging much in human interaction. She only heard the voices when she was very upset and sometimes she couldn't grasp what was real in the world.

She claims that she isn't crazy, that everyone else in there are crazy except her. She barely talks to anyone. She says its not her fault for having an opinion that everyone should be entitled to
