Backstory
(A.N: A huge thanks to Pluto for the awesome suggestion of her background history and potential Kekkei Genkai, Crush, and Guardian childofPluto70.):

Kanako stays at the Hidden Leaf Village/Konohagakure, well, stays but not lives. Her mother comes from  same clan from Jugo's, an unnamed family, which originated from an unknown area. The members of this clan possess the innate ability to absorb natural energy from their surroundings due to their unique bodies., 

Her father however, was able to help her take and control the power within. Her father was with the founders of the Akatsuki, the original Yahiko's Akatsuki. In of which, had only Yahiko who truly trusts the most out of the rest.  After the incident with Hanzo, where most of the Akatuski members were eliminated,  left to the village hidden in the leaf and settled down. And that's where Kanako was born, in the Leaf Village.

Word from Orochimaru's true deeds haven't yet reached the public so she didn't know of how bad it was. But as Kanako learned of the innocent children and people were taken, she had became disgusted but knew she had to become stronger, day in and day out thanks to her father's training and the training from the leaf avoiding contact towards most of the other leaf ninjas not trusting them. 

Her life was a peaceful one up until she arrived at the academy to formally be a Leaf Ninja. She became more open to her surroundings and excelling in much of what was given. Some students doesn't made friends with her because of her not being a true Leaf Citizen but nevertheless persevered. 

However, when the Nine Tail Fox rampaged and destroyed almost all of Konoha, it took many lives along with her parents saving her instead. In reality, they were saved by a mysterious figure. Now, she lives alone at her house, a few meters at the Hokage's mansion. Since she knew her parents had passed away, she shut down everyone except the Hokage. She prefers to be alone during missions. 

When she had learned about the Akatsuki organization, and of Orochimaru, she secretly thought that they aren't irredeemable and that  the village is mistaken about them being bad and ruthless. She had also secretly hated the nine-tails.

Kanako, eager to look neither Akatsuki or Orochimaru but him purposely, sets out to find them. Taking numerous missions from the Hokage that would require days or a week to complete. In one mission, where she was delivering a package towards the Land of Flowers, had found Orochimaru in the open. Shock, she went to him but the two fought. She goes to him but instead fights. For 10 straight minutes of fighting, Orochimaru got hit by Kanako as he is wounded a bit. Kanako has marks all over her body as well as wounds.

Orochimaru was amazed by her feats of strength and it was all thanks to training. However, he was also shock seeing the exhausted female ninja began to appear some marks around her body, just like Jugo's. Kanako explained why she wanted to find him whilst unknowingly absorbing natural energy. 

At first, Orochimaru didn't believe her but soon accepted it. She lights up but the marks around didn't let her calm down. She pushed the fight further but Orochimaru, with knowledge of certain curse marks, decided to tire her out and let her be exhausted. Another 10 minutes, Kanako was exhausted. He then leads an exhausted and wounded Kanako to his hideout.

Kanako was confused on why she had that strength, whereas Orochimaru explained her about her curse mark. When learning about her new found prowess and Kekkai Genkai, this made her be determined even more to someday, allow her to control the curse mark easily and make her control her abilities more easily. She can be exhausted but it would trigger her curse mark. 

This made her land a blow on Orochimaru. As the two goes to his hideout, Kanako met many test subjects and Kabuto who which healed her. Orochimaru left them for a bit and comes back with a sword(at the bottom) and gave it to Kanako. The snake sword or replica/other variant of the Sword of Kusanagi; can cut through any Jutsus. 

Orochimaru offered Kanako to join him. Kanako thinks about it and Kabuto then told his master that she may need time to think. Orochimaru understood her then sets her back to the Leaf. When returned to the leaf, to report back to the Hokage, the jig was up and Kanako, afraid to lose months worth of training and perseverance, to reach her ninja rank, told the truth. 

This made the Hokage shock about it and wanted to dig deeper through her background including whereabouts and origin. Kanako didn't hesitate to let them know and gave what she had available except the sword and Orochimaru's hideout

Now learning her past, she was raised by Anko Mitarashi, who was kind to her and both bonded over sweets and messing with people. She keeps her Orochimaru stuff secret as she knows it won't make Anko happy but she wants to learn more from her

Anko had trained her under Snakes. Kanako wasn't off the hook yet still receiving missions and going to Orochimaru constantly to train, chat, or either meet others a like her. One instance, she was sent to the Northern Hideout where Karin holds it down. There, she met Jugo and the two bonded quickly due to their . She also sometimes calls him cousin and enjoys bonding/playing with animals. 

Another instance, was at the original hideout where she had met Suigetsu under a water unit. Asking for his release, Orochimaru reluctantly agreed but was cautious of him. Due to his personality of being a kind and fun loving guy, Kanako slowly got attached to him, in which Orochimaru and Kabuto saw this. 

When Kanako was free from missions and not being watched, she sneaks to go back to Suigetsu. Where they would spar mostly swordsman type. Suigetsu, who loves to spar with her and says 'You better be a blood mist swordsman with me if we get out' playfully and always smiles at her.

This really deep attachment to Suigetsu, made her leave the village and be with Orochimaru mostly with Suigetsu. Though, Kanako was constantly sent to the Hidden Sound Village, or Otogakure to be constantly experimented on and spar against Sound Ninjas.  

After Sasuke had eliminated Orochimaru for himself, Kanako left for the Hidden Leaf with a brand new persona, clothes, ideas, face, and had become stronger ever since. She had to undergo extensive reconciliation effort to be accepted back to the Leaf due to Inoichi (Ino's Father) knowing that she sided with Orochimaru and with the Akatsuki at some point in time. However, during this time, she had also helped Kabuto in his goals on the reincarnation jutsu as well as mastering his own Sage Mode. 

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, she fully decided to help Konoha in efforts against the Zetsu Army and the Reincarnated Ones. She was assigned with Kakashi and had shown her fellow ninjas what truly a Curse Mark user is; thus earning the nickname Curse Mark of the Leaf. 

In Boruto, she had gained the respect of fellow ninjas and got known to all of the five nations. She settled inside the Leaf and aided Kabuto's Orphanage. She also got introduced to a new village called Hidden Village Under The Rock during one of her one man recon missions.

Other: uses a snake sword, kunai, shurikens, paper bombs. Specialty in spying on other ninjas. Fast, Strong in using weapons and bare hand, can be easily exhausted in battle but tries to preserve her stamina
