Haruo has always been a man of few words, a stoic man by nature. But it was never to be mistaken with unhappiness...while he grew into a man without quite the perfect life considering his poor upbringing, he'd always considered himself content - content, and introverted. But a man of the 12th century is nothing without an end goal for his life - which is why Haruo learned the way of the samurai, and gave the rest of his days to the emperor. Still never one to wear his expressions, he was a keen learner and progressed rapidly through his career. Every warrior displayed their successes in their hair, and Haruo's grew very, very long.

Alas, his fortune couldn't stay with him forever. It was as if he'd been cursed - for in one Mongolian attack, he lost it all...his home village was pillaged, and he'd dishonored his battalion as the lone survivor. He'd left the life of a samurai and became a masterless nomad - a ronin. He cut his long hair short, in shame. But perhaps the greatest loss of all, was that of his one and only true love - Yumeko.

And now...he has a reason for his solemn face. His worn out and tired eyes. His seemingly hopeless outlook. If he hadn't believed in the afterlife where he may meet his love again, he would have ended it long ago. But there's one thing he believes in more than the after life....and that's revenge, for his fleet, and his woman, and for his honor. And that's why he's decided to challenge the Mongolian war lord - Khan Maru - in the thought that he's got nothing else to lose, and everything to gain, even in his slim odds.

Of course, Haruo was never well known for his riveting speech, as he's a quiet and stoic man by trait. And now that his perceived sorrow has reason, perhaps he smiles even less. But despite that, he's no monster, and he'd never scoff at an honest inquirer. Truly he has a heart of gold, and seldom would he deny help to someone who asked. He once was a romantic, before losing his love. He's a tactical fighter with a keen eye for detail, even if he explains little to others. He's a man who values honor over wealth, as he's never had even a taste - and even if he had, it probably wouldn't soil his simple nature.

Your character lives in the modern age - the 21st century. And so you must be wondering how their story intertwines with Haruo's? Well, it has something to do with a bit of magic...

Your character is currently living in Japan, whether it be for cultural reasons, school, tourism, or other. They've always taken a liking to Japanese culture, and have a sharp intellect of history and seemingly useless information. Everything thus far has remained normal - the past has stayed in the past, the future lies in the future...it wasn't until a stroll along a nearby river that your character stumbles upon a forbidden lagoon, fabled and mystified by locals.

Your oc thinks nothing of it - after all, it's just a legend, right? It wasn't until a slip and fall that takes them under, that the mystery is revealed....for they awaken in feudal Japan, face to face with none other than Haruo! He has a destiny for regaining his honor - you have a wish to return to your own time. Between his swordman skills and your ocs knowledge, perhaps their fates are intertwined...
