*Ysa's pov...*

"What did you want to tell me, Buddy?" I asked.

Buddy looked nervous. He was trying to hold back emotions.

"Our group used to be larger. There were about 100 people give or take! We would take to the streets! Our shouts aroused even more people.... until the king's army arrived."

Buddy sighed and continued on,

"There was a massacre like no other. The king's army made an advance with bayonets up. Most of us were either unarmed, poorly armed, or fleeing for our lives. They mainly went after the women because they thought that they were an easy target. I was in that battle alongside my mentor. He was the leader of our group and the kind of guy everyone looked up to. He gave them a reason to fight. They all supported him. I supported him. He taught me all I know."

His tone got sadder as he continued even further,

"My parents were in that battle. They died before my eyes. Ever since that battle, we've gone into hiding and forbade women to enter our group for there safety. There's never been a demonstration since. And now......now my mentor is dead. I'm supposed to lead this group, and I don't have what it takes! Let's face it, we're all doomed."

He cupped my chin in his hand and looked at my face. I could see a faint tint of red in his cheeks.

"Besides, I don't want to lose you."
