*Biz's pov.....*

"Members of the council, I beg you to reconsider!" a voice replied, "Please, hear me out!"

"WHO DARES TO INTERRUPT OUT MEETING IN THIS WAY!?" the head of the council shouted.

Two guards by the door aimed their blasters at the individual. Their hands went straight up.

I didn't know who it was, but they were risking being arrested to help me. I decided to help them too.

"Let them speak." I replied with calm composure, "After all, you can't pass judgement without hearing both sides of the situation, am I right, sirs?"

The council members muttered to themselves for a moment before the head of the council slammed his gavel down.

"I suppose it is part of protocol to hear the accused's side of the story. Very well, they may speak. If this turns out to be nothing but a waste of my time, both of you shall be cast under sentence." The head of the council replied.

"I assure you, members of the council, that this is not a waste of your time." the individual replied.

The guards lowered their guns and went back to guarding the door. The individual walked up to the stand and stood next to me. They had a black cloak, so I could not see their face.

"Members of the council, the Captain before us is not at fault. She was protecting someone she cared about so much...that she couldn't let them go. Sigh, she is not the one at fault here....I am." the individual untied her cloak and took it off. Their head was down as they continued to speak, "I was the one disobeying orders. I was the one who got into trouble countless times. I was the one who cared so much about the Captain that when I failed, I feared how mad she'd get. I was the one who never seemed to realize how much trouble I was causing until after it happened. I am the one......who deserves this sentence."

My eyes filled slightly with tears. "No, Chiz! You don't deserve this sentence! You discovered the flaws in my orders. You never gave up in a fight. You never lost your loyalty to me....even through all of this. All that has been going on, you never once turned against me. You followed me until the bitter end, and I thank you for that. I don't know what I would've  done if you never showed up and assumed command as my assistant." I replied.

"Captain please! Vizion cannot afford to lose its greatest captain. If you left Vizion, the whole organization could fall apart! If I leave, nothing will change." Chiz replied.

"No-" I replied.

The head of the council slammed his gavel and all went silent.

"The two of you both make great points." the fourth member said, "but only one of you is on trial today."

"Captain Biz, I warned you several times in the past year to fire her, and yet, you continue to disobey." the head of the council said.

"The orders she disobeyed contained flaws that I was not aware of until after they were given." I replied, trying to keep my calm composure.

"Which brings us to consider just how good of a captain you really are." the head of the council replied.

"If you feel that I am not the Captain you want in control of Vizion's troops, then I shall accept your sentence." I answered.

"Captain, no!-" I covered her mouth with my hand before she could say more.

"Chiz, enough of these shenanigans! It will only make things worse! Understand?" I whispered.

"Yes, Captain. I'm sorry." Chiz answered.

"If the two of you are done, we shall pass judgement on you both." the head of the council replied, "All those in favor of resignation, say Ay."

There was a slight hesitation before 4 Ay's were heard.

"All those in favor of keeping her in command, say Nay." the head of the council replied.

4 Nay's were heard.

"A tie, huh? Well then, my vote.....is Ay!" the head of the council replied, "Captain Biz, this is your resignation. You have 24 hours to gather all of your belongings from the ship and leave. Before you leave, you must hand over your pin to us, for you are no longer a member of Vizion."

I took off my pin, looked at it once more, and handed it over to the council.

"We shall have Carmiz take your place." the head of the council replied as a tan alien stepped into the room.

"I'm sorry, Captain, but I have no control." she whispered.

"As for you, Chiz, you have one week to change your behavior. If not, then consider yourself fired!" the head of the council added.

"Yes, sir." Chiz replied.

"This meeting is adjourned!" the head of the council replied with one last slam of his gavel.

The two guards by the door each grabbed one of my arms and escorted me out. I wrenched one of my arms out of their grasp.

"I can walk by myself, thank you!" I said.  The other guard let go of my other arm.

I can't believe I just got fired! I've been a part of Vizion my whole life! I've almost died for Vizion multiple times! Why....why now?

The guards led me outside and left, closing the door behind them.

"Captain.....why? Why did you do this? " I turned around to see Chiz next to me.

"I didn't follow my orders, and so I must pay for my actions." I replied solemnly.

"But, Captain-" Chiz replied.

"Chiz, don't make this harder than it already is!" I replied, "Just do me two things will you? Teach Carmiz what I've taught you, and also, try not to get fired. I can't stand seeing such a good person leave forever."

"But, you're leaving forever." Chiz replied.

"I know. So please, do this for me, will you? Consider this....a dying wish." I said.

"Yes, Captain. I won't let you down!" Chiz replied, perking up slightly.

I smiled, "Good. Now, I have to head back and gather my things."

Yep just as I thought.....this part has become 1000+ words. It's a good thing I split this into two! XD

What will become of Vizion now that Biz is gone? Was Biz's resignation justified(in your opinion)? What will the new Captain Carmiz be like?

So many questions! XD I'm so evil sometimes....
