An Experience

A/N: This chapter will have a bit of violence and swearing (though I try to avoid too much). The Mature rating is there, so read at your own risk.

I was quick in my adjustments to this new life. It was, in a weird way, cool. I could float, though barely, and I found the spectral powers only a few minutes after trying. I knew what I was and I didn't try to deny it.

Floating was an odd way to travel and I wasn't the best at it so I stuck to walking. I had spent a day at the dump trying to figure out how my new legs worked, but that practice did me well now. So I walked. I tried to ignore the vengeful feelings that consumed me. I was more curious at the moment. I could go where I wanted, when I wanted. I no longer had to wait, no longer had to want. I can do as I pleased.

My mind was set on revenge, so I began to search. I backtracked, passing the park, then the bakery. My grin widened as I came to the building where it all began. I quickly crossed the street and ducked into the dark alleyway. My gaze went up with the ladders. I wasted no time, grabbing the rungs and hoisting myself up. The ground became smaller as I climbed, eyes shining.

Four... five... six. I grinned as I climbed through the open window. Six floors up. She was here, though certainly not in the current room. My feet hit the hard tile floor and I ran for the door. This was not the right person's kitchen and I did not want to be here when the owner came back. My fingers curled around the doorknob and I went to turn it.

It jiggled.

I cursed to myself and dropped to the ground, making a sprint for the nearest shadow. I knew I wouldn't make it to the window. The fridge, as large as it was, cast an equally as large shadow. I dove into it and watched as a happy couple entered. My crimson eyes narrowed as I watched the two shut the door behind them.

My eyes tracked the two humans as they moved to the living area, then flickered to the door again. I had one chance and I had to time it right. I waited patiently.

Waiting was a skill I had gotten good at. Emily had never been allowed to take me with her to school, so I spent most of my days as a doll waiting on the bed. I had no problem with waiting then, but I found myself hating it now. I wanted to get my revenge, damn it!

Waiting bored me and I found myself slipping from the shadow. The large island in the kitchen kept me hidden from the view of the humans and I secretly thanked them for their odd taste in furniture. I peered around the corner. The humans were distracted. Claws twitching, I made my move, dashing for the door.

An ear-piercing scream rang out and I flinched, eyes screwed shut. My dash turned into a tumble as I tripped. I hissed as I struck the hard cabinet doors. My head lifted and I saw the female human angrily pointing at me, a hand over her mouth. The male, who was disgustingly dressed in a fancy suit, held a gun, much to my alarm.

"Kill it! Kill it!" The words pierced me and my eyes narrowed. I wouldn't die. Not yet. Not without taking her with me.

Silver sparkled nearby and my gaze went to it. A fine sword, a cutlass, hung above the window I had come through. Its blade gleamed. It was sharp. It was deadly.

I moved instantly. A shot rang out and the bullet pierced the place I had been a mere second ago. I quickly climbed up the counter and grabbed the weapon. It was light, easily twirled. I did just that, spinning it as I got a feel for it. I then turned my gaze to the humans, who looked scared. Good. They should be afraid. I hopped off the counter, the cutlass in hand.

"Oh, for fuck's sake, gimme that!" The woman grabbed the gun, a rifle, and aimed at me. My eyes widened and I dashed to the side. Pain shot through me as the bullet hit my leg. Hissing, I struggled to my feet.

"Just. Kill. IT!" The two were screaming at each other now. I took my chance and sprinted for the door, despite the pain. The cutlass in my hand cut through the air. I raised the weapon, then bought it down in a powerful swipe. The blade pierced the wood, making a decent slash. My heart raced and I did it three more times until it splintered. I dodged another shot that blew the door off. Quickly, I ran through it and took off down the hall, ignoring the screams of the other humans who lived in the building. I stole a glance behind me and my eyes landed on my old owner.

The fury was instantaneous. I did a 180 and ran to her, eyes blazing with hatred, the cutlass ready to strike her down. Emily screamed as I blindly charged her.

A bullet sank into my other leg and I fell, the weapon hitting the ground. I hissed as I struggled to rise. The older humans were closing in around me. I snarled at them, claws glowing with ghostly energy. One stepped near and I slashed their leg, drawing blood, much to my satisfaction. I retreated against the wall as two more took his place. I swiped again, though my attack didn't hit anyone this time.

A sudden jolt ran through me and I froze. Electricity coursed through my form, sparks dancing off my cloth. I hissed softly, trying to fight back against the Thunder Wave. My eyes landed on the Pikachu who had inflicted it. Another to add to my kill list.

The humans closed in ever so slightly. I was racked with pain and I took in the scene with a sense of defeat. So this is how I went out, huh? Mauled to death by angry humans. I allowed myself a smile as I saw the damage I had done. An injury and a destroyed door. I clutched my pain-ridden body, eyes dancing around.

I fell unconscious. It took only a mere smack with a baseball bat.
