The room was warm, and alive with many friendly faces. The first of which Corrine ran into.
"I can't help running into people today can I?" Corrine muttered pulling herself to her feet.
"My bad I wasn't looking where I was going and. Oh where are my manners! I'm Selina," the girl said, pushing her blonde hair out of her face
"Corrine, your Buzzards daughter right?" Corrine replied smiling.
"You're Harpy's daughter yeah?" Selina nodded.
Both girls stood in silence for a while before Selina broke the ice
"I hate my dad," she said simply, "he's an ass isn't he"
Both girls laughed for a bit before Corrine said "better then your mother being a narcissistic bitch"
They smiled and a friendship was formed.
"CORRINE" someone shouted from across the room "your up!"
Corrine smiled at Selina and entered through another door.
She was in the main hall, but she couldn't see anyone, or anything except the weird terrain in front of her. Suddenly she heard a weird noise, metal clanking on stone. She gritted her teeth. She hated The Choosing and everything it stood for, but for now she had to do her mothers bidding.
A man in black armor stood in front of her and pulled out a sword, great just make this quick and easy, use your power to knock him out, they want to see a show stopping duel, give them nothing but a quick view at your power and you can go, plus Harpy will happy with that.
Corrine lifted her hand and squinted and the man dropped to the ground. She left and was bustled back to her room in the palace quickly. Alice was waiting there.
"You were amazing dear! I was watching you through the servants box you see," Alice explained and threw Corrine a gown.
"I've always hated dresses," Corrine exclaimed looking at the thing, she turned towards the closet, "may I?" She asked.
Alice nodded and Corrine hurried inside.
All blacks and grays to represent her family colors. Corrine searched for so,thing, anything interesting with a pop of color then she found it. A black dress, it fell off her shoulders and ended right above her knee. The best part about the dress was that there was a lavender stripe that went down. So it wasn't completely colorless.
Take that mother Corrine thought as Alice did her hair and gave her some black heels to wear.
After a half an hour of teasing, pinning and an impressive string of curses from Corrine, she was ready.
Her red hair was pulled up into a beautiful bun busted with glitter (which completed her green eyes and made them sparkle.)
And then she was out the door.
"You clean up nice" someone commented coming around the corner.
"Hey Caleb." Corrine said careful not to bump into him.
"You really do look amazing Corrine." Caleb said honestly.
"Not to impress you, I'm sure. Mostly to piss off my mother but, that's another story. Don't you have a queen to choose anyway?" She asked slyly.
"You caught me, but I think you'll be pleased with the results. We should talk after the party." Caleb said holding his hands up and starting to walk away.
"Caleb wait!" Corrine shouted "I'm in, let's wreak some havoc"
