elara woke up early the next day, she could still hear the soft sound of the boys snoring above her in the garage studio.

in the early hours of the mornings when the sun was just beginning to rise, elara loved standing outside basking in the sunrise by herself for a few moments.

a few minutes passed and she heard footsteps behind her, and suddenly luke was standing behind her wrapping his arms around her waist, "hey." he whispered softly.

"hi." she replied quietly, those butterflies in her stomach returning again at his touch.

"you're awake early." he replied, resting his head on her shoulder.

"i know... i like watching the sunrise." she said quietly.

"me too..." luke replied.

they stood in silence for a few moments before elara spun around to face him, still explicitly close to him considering his arms were still wrapped around her waist.

"what were you going to tell me last night... on the roof?" she asked, it was partly one of the reasons she couldn't sleep much, wondering what he was going to say.

luke's perfect smile faltered slightly, "oh, um... it doesn't matter."

elara playfully pouted, "come on, it must have been important."

he too had struggled to sleep since their last conversation, and he'd somehow convinced himself not to tell her how he really felt. he was scared. scared that if he did tell her he might lose the best thing that's ever happened to him. so he avoided the subject, "el... i promise it doesn't matter."

"if you say so... i won't push it." she sighed before resting her head on his chest as they stood together like that for a while before they heard the clatters of alex and reggie waking up.

later that day elara decided to take herself for a walk around the neighbourhood while the boys played around with different compositions for their set for the talent show. they were allowed to play three songs so they were playing around with what songs to choose and how they can change them up a little.

hours passed and soon reggie left to go and mooch around the kitchen whilst alex was whisked away by willie for a surprise date leaving luke alone in the garage.

he sat on the couch strumming his guitar, humming the lyrics to the song he was hoping to play for elara one day.

"all i ever want to be is in your starlight..." he sang quietly, his fingers running up and down his guitar strings playing a few chords.

he heard the soft melody of a girls voice entering the garage echoing his own lyrics, "all i ever want to be is in your starlight..." elara sang as she walked over to him, smiling.

"god, you're so perfect. do you know that?" luke said as he set his guitar down as she sat down besides him, extremely close.

"i'm far from perfect." she said quietly.

he reached up and tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear, his forehead pressing against hers as they gravitated closer together, "how do you do this to me?" he asked breathless.

"what are you talking about, luke?" she asked, confused as a blush began to rise in her cheeks.

"el... i lied before, it wasn't nothing..." he breathed out, his face getting closer to hers before he finally closed the gap between them by kissing her. it was everything he hoped it'd be, like heaven. as he pulled away from her to breathe, his honey brown eyes gazing into hers, "i like you... a lot, but i don't want to ruin what we have."

elara was still speechless after he'd kissed her, it felt like fireworks were going off in her head.

"you could never ruin what we have, luke. i promise... and just so that you know, i like you a lot too." she grinned before leaning closer and pressing a kiss against the side of his lips, teasing him slightly.

"FINALLY!" they heard yells from outside the garage, they both jumped apart to see alex and reggie staring at them through the windows of the garage door.

they both stumbled inside grinning, "we knew if we left you two alone long enough you'd break."

luke shook his head but couldn't stop himself from smiling, "idiots." he whispered under his breath.

"we're your favourite idiots." they all laughed as they came together for a group hug.

"that's true." luke grinned.

"okay, okay... let's put our serious heads on now, we've got a talent show to rehearse for!" alex exclaimed just as julie walked in the door.

julie noticed something different about luke as she looked at him, for the first time he wasn't watching her as she entered the room. his eyes were set on something... or much rather someone else she couldn't see and she felt a pang in her heart.
