Miracle hops off of Lapras and onto the shore, "That was a magnificent battle Miracle! You so effortlessly beat the Wishiwashi that I had trained."

"Effortlessly? I was there for thirty minutes! I used all my potions! I'm covered in water and I'll probably catch a cold! That was not effortless!"

Lana blinks and Miracle pants.

Tula pets her shoulder and she calms down, "Y'know its over and I'll never have to deal with another hard trial like that again."
(*cough*Lurantis*cough*)

Lana sends us on our way and tells us to head to Kiawe's trial near the Volcano Park but first, we have to head to Royal Avenue.

If only Team Skull weren't in our way. I can see them half way up the route.
Looks like we'll have to deal with them again, though it looks like a certain Mudsdale can get the job done quite well.

"Why, hello there Miracle! Hapu says, ignoring the grunts, "Good to see that your leg is all better. How's Rudy
doin'?"

Miracle glances at the grunts "Uhh, He's good, I just beat my second trial."

"How'd I'd go?"

"Ey, yo! We were having a conversation, yo! Turn around and face us!" A grunt yells.

Rude.
Behind them is a Drifloon, looks like they finally succeeded in stealing a Pokémon.
Time to ruin that.

"And you!" The grunt turns to Miracle, "I remember you! You're that Trainer from Melemele. I haven't forgotten how you beat me!"

"You've fought these guys before?"
Miracle smirks, "Fought and won."

The grunt growls, "I'm gonna break that streak!"

Drowzee, Drowzee, Drowzee.
That's how that battle made me feel. But props to the grunt for making the battle at least a little difficult, still was a waste of time, though.

"You can always try again next time to beat me." Miracle says as I climb up on her shoulder.

Mudsdale turns to them and stomps her hoof down.
"I like that idea, Mudsdale." Hapu says "There'll be a mess to clean up but I'm willin' if you are."

What?
Mudsdale's gonna step on them?
I want to see this!
I kid, I kid.

"Uhh, what? We can't do that." Miracle says, "That'd be murder."

Drowzee grunt shakes his head, "You won't have to! We're out of here, yo!"

There they go, won't have to wait long to see them again.

The Drifloon floats over to us.
She thanks Miracle and Hapu and floats away.

"That was a fine battle Miracle."
Rudy snorts, "Or not."

Miracle gently tugs on Rudy's reins, "C'mon, Rudy. I'm sure Isa enjoyed it."

She smiles at me and I frown.

I don't enjoy battles.
But, I do kinda enjoy beating up Team Skull.
Just don't tell Miracle

Miracle chuckles, "Everyone's so...strange today."

Hapu smiles, "Well, I'm sure we'll see each other again soon. You take good care of that Mudbray, ya hear? He's got some great potential, I can feel it!"

She hops up on Mudsdale and rides away.
We get to clearing the route outside Royal Avenue.

Royal Avenue is a quaint little place. The first thing Tula see's is the Malasada shop.

"MALASADAS!!"

She sounds like Hau.
Only rabid.

Tiko chuckles, "Are you sure we have the right Pikachu? Did we take Hau's by accident?"

Rudy nudges Tula with his muzzle, "She smells the same to me."

Tiko sighs, "Alright. Well, let's go get some malasadas."

Surprisingly, Hau is here.
I don't think I've seen anyone who loves malasadas more than Hau.
Except maybe Tula...in a rabid way.

"Hey, Miracle!" He says with a mouth full of food.

"Hey, Hau." Miracle says walking over to him, "Are you enjoying your malasadas?"

He nods and swallows his food, "There's nothing better!"

Chase bursts into the shop, "Hello everybody! It's your new most valued customer!"

Lillie walks in behind him, "Hau is the only one here."

"Not anymore. There's me, you, Miracle, Peaches, Nebby and Snowball."

"Is Snowball your imaginary friend," Miracle asks.

"No, she's Lillie's Vulpix."

"WHAT?! What Vulpix?"
A small black nose pokes out of Lillie's bag then it pulls its whole head out.

Hau smiles but Miracle looks at it confused, "That's a strange looking Vulpix. The Vulpix in Hoenn don't look like that."

"Well, what do they look like in Hoenn?" Lillie asks.

Miracle pulls out her phone and shows us a picture of a red Vulpix with a little rose on its ear.
"This is Heather. She's a Ninetails now."

Rotom looks at the phone, "Vulpix in Hoenn are fire types. In Alola, they're ice types." He flies over to Snowball who bats her paw at him. He giggles, "Vulpix, the Fox Pokémon, Alolan Form. In hot weather, this Pokémon makes ice shards with its six tails and sprays them around to cool itself off."

"That's adorable!" Tula says, "She's so cute!"

Snowball hops out of the bag and walks around, her first new friend is Eevee.

Eevee runs from her and hides behind Hau's leg, shivering. Hau lifts her up, C'mon, Eevee! She wants to be your friend. Nothing's better than making new friends."

Eevee shakes her head so Snowball walks over to Rudy and reaches out to touch him.

Tiko grabs her, "No, no. Maybe you shouldn't try and touch Rudy."

"Why not," she asks in a high voice.

"He can't see you."
"I might not be able to see but I can hear and smell." Rudy says with slight indignity.

"Oh, yeah. Right." Tiko sets Snowball down.

Snowball takes her time to say hi to everyone.
Even me.
She's pretty cool.
No?
Fine, whatever.

She's...I don't know what she is.
She's nice one second angry the next.
I don't know.

After that whole reunion, Hau and Miracle head off to the Battle Royal Dome, where Battle Royals are held.

Hau says that we might even be able to meet the Masked Royal, whoever that is.
The moment we walk in, we're already getting yelled at.

"Glad you could make it!" Says a man wearing a mask.

He looks and sounds like Kukui.
Who else would walk around without a shirt on?

"They call me the Masked Royal."

Miracle squints, "Professor?"

"The Masked Royal!" He grunts
A Dartrix flies on his shoulder and winks at me.
Rowlet evolved?
If that's the case, then this is definitely Kukui.

He explains what a Battle Royal is and encourages Hau and Miracle and even Gladion to participate.

*after this dumb thing*

"Woo! Wasn't that fun?" Kukui, I mean, the Masked Royal says.

Miracle yawns, "Yeah, I guess. It was alright."

"You were on fire during that battle." Says a man who looks like he spends way to much time in the sun

"Thanks," Miracle says groggily.
Is she high?
Tired?
Probably tired.
I don't think she's slept in, like, two days.

"My name's Kiawe. I'm the Fire Captain. I'll be waiting for you at the peak of the volcano on route seven."
Miracle waves, "Yup. I'll see you there."

The Masked Royal turns to us, "Miracle, Hau. How are your trials going?"

Miracle chuckles, "How'd you know our names? We never told you our names."

Hau smiles, "The Masked Royal knows everyone!"

That's not creepy!

Miracle shrugs, "I guess you're right."

"My trials have been going great. I'm having a blast! What about you, Miracle?"

"I'm tired, I need to sleep." Miracle says with a yawn.

She turns to Gladion, "Why is Mr. Edgelord here?"

Gladion sighs, "I have a name."

Miracle rolls her eyes, "Fine. Why are you here, Gladion?"

He strikes a dramatic pose, "Because Null and have to make it on our own. I don't ever want to forget that."
He leaves without another word, although, I swore I could hear Crawling by Linkin Park playing faintly as he left.

Hau frowns, "Wow. He's just a ray of sunshine. I don't know what his problem is but I thought the battle was fun!"

Looks like there's no sleep until we finish our second trial.
"Are you ready to go to Wela Volcano park?" Rotom asks cheerfully. "Miracle?"

Miracle rubs her eyes, "Yeah?"

"Did you hear what I said?"

"Oh, no."

When we make it to the park, Miracle curls up near one of the rocks, "I'm gonna take a quick nap..."

She snores softly and Rudy goes to lie down next to her.

Tula groans, "Did she really just fall asleep? We have work to do!" She thumps her foot on the ground.

Tiko lands on her head, "We'll do those things when she wakes up. You want to win these trials, right?"

"We're doing all the work!"

"But she gives us the orders, I say, "If she can barely stay awake, how well do you think we'll battle if she's giving us the wrong orders?"

We ignore her?
You do that all the time, Tiko.

Tula sits down and crosses her arms, Tiko, Rotom and I sit next to her.
Tiko and Tula doze off but I stay awake.

It's kinda hard to sleep in a hot place like this.

I feel something bat at my tail. It's Snowball and a Salandit with a wide, white stripe running from the top of her head to the tip of her nose.

"Snowball? What're you doing here? Where's Lillie?"

Snowball shrugs, "I don't know. I got lost and this Salandit said she saw a Trainer with a Brionne walking around. Have you seen Lillie?"

I shake my head and she groans.

Rotom tries to reassure her, but she pushes him away, "Let me be slightly annoyed in peace."

"Hey, hey!" The Salandit waves her arms and Snowball looks up, "We'll find her! I promise!"

She turns and points to me, "You! Brionne! Where's your Trainer?" Her face changes, "Wait...I know you!"
 
I shrug, "I don't."

She frowns, "Nightshade. Does that name ring a bell?"

"Nope."

She sighs but seems to get over it quickly.

"You don't have to call her Brionne." Snowball says, "Just call her Isa."

Nightshade nods slowly and mumbles something under her breath before switching back to her happy self.

She pulls us close in a tight hug, "We're on a mission, a mission to find Snowballs' Trainer! We are gonna be the best detectives!"
