V. Fest and Flares
Aditya got himself ready for the college fest with a neatly trimmed beard and a striking red suit that seemed designed to make every girl on campus swoon. As he approached the college gates, he froze, his eyes narrowing at a massive banner hanging in full public view. It featured a squinty, red-eyed image of him captured last night, with bold letters underneath that read: "Welcoming the Charming Pepper Spray Sensation, Mr. Aditya Malhotra."
Aditya clenched his teeth in frustration. The sight of several such banners scattered across the campus only added fuel to his irritation. However, maintaining his composure, he drove his car towards the entrance, where he was greeted by the college management, including the principal, vice-principal, chairperson, and several students who had helped organize the event.
Aditya's expression softened as he spotted Aanya among the students. He greeted her with a warm smile and kind eyes, but his gaze was searching-intensely scanning the crowd for one person: Krisha.
As he entered the main building, his annoyance gave way to mild admiration. The decorations were impressive, with walls adorned with flattering photographs and words highlighting his achievements.
While Aditya was taking it all in, the principal proudly said, "Sir, there's also an exhibition in every block showcasing the contributions your company has made to various sectors."
Aditya's eyes widened with genuine interest. "Wow. I'm intrigued," he said. Despite his reputation for arrogance and rudeness, Aditya had always valued effort and talent, rewarding those who impressed him.
"Who came up with all these plans? I'd like to meet and reward them," he said with a commanding tone.
The principal gestured toward a group of people wearing formal attire-men in suits and women in sarees, all sporting name badges. Aanya stood among them, smiling proudly.
"This team, sir, was managed by one of our institute's best students, Krisha. The team itself was led by your sister, Aanya. This was primarily Krisha's idea. I believe you met Krisha yesterday to discuss some details," the principal added.
Aditya raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Yes. Oh, that's great. And what about the banners across the campus?"
The principal chuckled nervously. "Ah, yes, sir. Krisha arranged those as well. She mentioned that you had initially requested banners, though she seems to have denied the idea at first. But this morning, she suddenly proposed this plan. After last night's... 'sensation,' we couldn't refuse. She managed to set up nearly 15 large flexes in a matter of hours. She even split the work among different printers to get it done quickly. I can't imagine how much effort she put into this, sir."
Aditya's lips twitched into a half-smile as he thought, She put in all this effort just because she hates me, wanting to trigger me.
He looked at the principal and said, "Well, I'll make sure to reward the entire team generously."
Aditya's tone shifted to one of polite curiosity. "I'd like someone to show me around the college and the exhibitions in the blocks."
"Of course, sir," the principal replied, nodding. He then instructed one of the students to fetch Krisha.
Krisha, dressed in a deep red saree, was overseeing the decorations near the stage and assisting the sound team. She turned, startled, when someone called her name.
"The principal is asking for you," a student informed her.
As Krisha approached, Aditya was momentarily captivated by her appearance. The red saree accentuated her elegance, her light smile highlighted her painted red lips, and her loose hair framed her face perfectly. His gaze briefly lingered on the way her saree revealed a hint of her waist and the name badge on her shoulder.
"Hello, s-sir," she stammered softly, snapping Aditya out of his reverie.
"Hello," he replied smoothly, his tone tinged with mockery. "You did all this work just to impress me, didn't you? Your management is lucky to have a fantastic student like you."
Krisha's polite smile faltered slightly as she raised an eyebrow at his remark.
"But," Aditya continued with a smirk, "you didn't even show up here to invite me personally now."
Aanya, standing nearby, observed the exchange with growing confusion. What exactly is going on between Bhaiya and Krisha Di? Why are they always like this? A Tom and jerry show always. She wondered.
Aditya softened his tone, addressing Krisha in a way that caught her off guard. "You don't seem to flaunt your hard work or let it get to your head. I like that simplicity."
The gathered crowd burst into applause at his unexpected compliment.
The vice-principal stepped forward. "Sir, the fest will begin shortly. We would like you to tour the college and visit the exhibitions before it starts."
The vice-principal then instructed Krisha and two other members of the organizing team to guide Aditya around the campus.
As they toured the exhibitions, Aditya listened attentively, genuinely interested in the presentations while he admired the things done by students. However, during a moment of distraction, Krisha excused herself to speak with someone.
"Rudy! You're here," she exclaimed, her face lighting up with a smile.
Rudra, a handsome young man, grinned back at her. "Yeah, I came to collect my certificates. Finally cleared all my backlogs," he said proudly. Leaning closer, he added with a mischievous whisper, "And, of course, to see the fest that my girl organized."
Krisha bit her lip, smiling shyly.
Aditya slowed his pace, his focus shifting toward the interaction. Though he couldn't hear the conversation, he was clearly intrigued by their dynamics.
"See you later," Rudy said, winking as he walked away. Krisha rejoined the group, her smile still lingering.
After completing the tour, they returned to the main block.
"How many floors does this building have?" Aditya asked Krisha.
"Eight, sir," she replied, her tone professional. "The most important departments are located here."
"What's the view like from the top floor?" Aditya inquired, his eyes fixed on her.
One of the accompanying team members interjected, "It's incredible, sir, especially during the rainy season."
Aditya's lips curved into a faint smile. "I'd like to see it."
Just before entering the elevator, Aditya started searching his pocket for something.
"Oh shoot. I forgot my wallet in my car. I've got some important cards in there. Can anyone fetch it for me?" Aditya said, holding up his keys.
Both the guys who accompanied him froze for a moment, their eyes widening at the sight of the customized Rolls Royce key.
"I'll bring it, sir," one of them volunteered quickly.
"No, I'll go, sir," the other chimed in, both now eagerly vying for the opportunity.
Krisha watched the scene unfold, her expression blank but clearly unimpressed.
"I hope you're both interested in seeing my car personally," Aditya said, smirking.
Both nodded eagerly.
"Okay, both of you go. But don't take anything or open the dashboard, understood?" Aditya warned, his tone teasing but firm.
"Yes, sir!" they chorused, grinning with excitement.
One of the guys turned to Krisha and said, "Krisha, take sir to the top floor as he requested. We'll join you once we're back."
Krisha nodded, her shoulders sinking slightly as she accepted her role.
As the two men left, Aditya turned to Krisha, smirking knowingly. Krisha, unfazed, rolled her eyes and stepped into the elevator, pressing the button for the 8th floor.
Aditya followed, leaning casually against the wall. "I told them not to open the dashboard. Do you know why?" he asked, his tone casual but loaded with amusement.
Krisha glanced at him briefly, confused, but didn't respond.
He leaned slightly closer to her, his voice dropping to a playful whisper. "Because there's a gun."
Aditya laughed softly at his own joke, but Krisha just took a deep breath, her face calm.
Aditya glanced at the elevator panel, calculating the time between each floor. "What if we're late for the fest?" he asked, almost absentmindedly.
"No worries, sir. They'll wait," Krisha replied curtly, her tone formal and disinterested.
Aditya looked up, a sly smile spreading across his face as he noticed something. No cameras in this lift. That's good to know. He thought.
He shifted his gaze back to her. "It's good to hear you address me as 'Sir.' I like it," he added, his voice tinged with amusement.
Krisha closed her eyes briefly, trying to tune him out. The elevator passed the 5th floor, and she silently told herself, Just bear it.
"Charming Pepper Spray Sensation," Aditya murmured, his tone laced with mockery as he recalled the banner outside.
He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I'm sure this pepper spray thing will neither leave my life... nor yours," he said, his voice trailing off ominously.
The elevator dinged, signaling the 8th floor. Krisha gulped silently, her nerves steadying as she prepared to step out. Being alone with him felt like walking a tightrope, but she reassured herself to stay calm.
Aditya stepped out first, unbuttoning his suit jacket with deliberate slowness as he approached the edge of the rooftop railing. He leaned casually against it, taking in the view.
"The view is good. Wow," he said, his voice lighter now.
Turning back to Krisha, he added with a smirk, "It would be perfect for tour college couples to lean over, kiss, maybe do other things."
Krisha remained silent, her eyes fixed on the horizon, determined not to engage.
Aditya laughed, shaking his head. "Unfortunately, there are cameras everywhere up here," he added, watching her closely.
When Krisha finally rolled her eyes at his remark, Aditya couldn't help but react.
"Don't roll your eyes at me again, or-"
"--Or else what?" Krisha snapped, her voice sharp and cutting.
Before he could answer, her phone buzzed, breaking the moment. She answered it immediately, her voice steady.
"The guys are waiting at the main block, sir. They're asking us to return soon. The fest will begin in twenty minutes," she said, her tone stern and professional.
"Good, let's go then," Aditya replied, his smirk returning.
Krisha cut the call and gestured for him to follow her back to the elevator.
As they stepped inside, Aditya chuckled softly, clearly enjoying himself. "Your words beneath my face on that banner enlightened me, Krisha," he said, dragging the topic back to the infamous display.
He laughed again as the elevator doors slid shut. "Charming Pepper Spray Sensation-huh," he murmured, his tone playful yet challenging.
Before Krisha could react, Aditya moved quickly, pinning her against the elevator wall with his body. One hand rested firmly on the fabric of her saree near her waist, his touch confident and unyielding.
"Charming, ain't I?" he whispered, his lips dangerously close to her ear.
Krisha stiffened, her breathing quickening as she tried to remain composed.
"Mr. Malhotra, leave me-"
"Oh, you don't have your pepper spray now, do you?" he interrupted, his voice dripping with mockery.
Aditya leaned closer, brushing her hair aside to expose her neck. He inhaled deeply, his breath warm against her skin.
"I can't lie... you look gorgeous in this attire," he said, his tone soft but charged with intensity.
Krisha pressed her hands against his chest, trying to push him away, but his grip only tightened slightly.
Aditya locked eyes with her, his gaze smoldering. "We've got about twenty seconds until we reach the ground floor. I'd like to kiss you now. Say yes."
Krisha glared at him, her silence deliberate and defiant. The elevator passed the 3rd floor, the countdown ticking in her mind.
Aditya chuckled darkly. "I'll take that as a no."
He raised his thumb to her lips, smudging her red lipstick slightly. Slowly, he brought his thumb to his mouth, tasting it with a deliberate smirk.
"You taste better than that night," he murmured, his eyes dark with desire.
The elevator dinged as it reached the ground floor. Krisha reacted swiftly, slapping him hard across the cheek.
Aditya's head turned slightly with the impact, but he barely flinched. Instead, a slow, amused smile spread across his face.
"I'm getting used to this," he said lightly, his tone almost teasing.
He glanced at his thumb again. "That was... tasty," he added with a wink before stepping out of the elevator, leaving Krisha behind to catch her breath.
